Two days ago I bought CS6 Design Standard. Now I wanted install it but in the beginning of the install process I had to type in the serial number. I did it. But after pressing the enter button I always gets follow message, even the serial number is right:
"Couldn't proof the serial number for Creative Suit 6 Design Standard. Contact support." (Translated from German)
1. There is NO support on the weekend. Why not?
2. What do I have to do, so that the serial number wil be accepted. It can't be, that I bought a programm for severall hundred EUR and then I can't install it.

You can't. Standalone serial numbers are platform specific. Only Creative Cloud is cross-platform.

You can also use the OS X Lion installer from the Mac App Store to create an external bootable drive, complete with a Recovery HD partition. See this article for more details. This approach will, at least, create a bootable drive with Recovery HD which you can carry with you in case you need to use Internet Restore or make use of the other utilities Recovery HD provides.

You likely have a redemption code on the box that you have to enter into an Adobe website to convert that into a serial number.

How can I install CS6 on a second computer?

I need to install CS6 Basic, not extended, on a new computer. I found several different suggestions. So here's what I've done:
1 I downloaded a trial so I could register it with my CS6 basic version S/N. The trial version it downloaded was Extended, which I don't own.
2 I installed it anyway. When I tried to use my Basic S/N, it wouldn't take it. Big surprise.
3 I uninstalled the Extended trial version.
4 I copied the two installation files in my Basic subdirectory on the old computer. Then I copied them to the new computer.
5 I did the installation with the serial number, and it loaded as Extended.
6 I've searched Adobe for a downloadable version of Basic I can install, but it's nowhere to be found. All references are to Extended.
7 My old computer is an XT. The new one is Win 7 64 bit. Is that why I can't find any reference to the Basic version for my Win 7 machine?

There is only one download for Mac and one for Windows. They are Extended in trial mode and the serial number which you enter will determine whether the extended features remain enabled (Extended mode) or not (Standard mode).

I was wondering if there was anyway to install CS6 on a new hard drive. I first downloaded it on my Desktop away at home (I study 3,000 miles away) and then on my MacBook Pro. My MacBook fell and it now runs impossibly slow and is likely on it's way out for good. I managed to write down my serial number for Photoshop, I'm not sure if it's what I need for InDesign and Illustrator. I'm trying to have my damage hard drive transferred to an external drive. With any luck I can hopefully get to succeed with all my licensed software.
I remember there being listings of my personal license key or serial number here on Adobe.com. Is there anyway to access them here on Adobe.com, and will I need my serial number, license number or activation number? Also, can I get the rest of the suite back even though I only have Photoshop's serial number?

If you cannot deactivate it on your broken computer, you will need to Contact Customer Care to reset your activation count.
If your Adobe products are part of a suite, then they should all activate with the same serial number.

You are clicking on the Adobe photoshop CS6 alias means shortcut file, not the original file hence you are getting this error.
We would require more details regarding your concern , what's your OS , Do you have ESD , DVD or Creative cloud membership?

Rebuilding macbook pro, not letting me install mavericks because no serial number

I've spent the last couple of months rebuilding a macbook pro 13" (without retina) from other parts i've bought off ebay and various other sites. everything seems to be working fine, except i was lead to believe that it would automatically read the serial number from the logic board i installed which didn't happen. when i boot up i get the folder with the question mark, when i use a usb boot key to install the os i get an error that it can't be verified because there is no valid serial number. technically they're correct i guess, i don't have an apple issued serial number because i did build it myself, however, every part that i've used was designed specifically for this model (model identifier MacBookPro9,2 model number A1278 and order number MD102LL/A [2.9ghz i7] with 8gb of memory). If anyone knows how I can insert the serial number that it on my logic board into the system please help. Applecare won't because it's very much out of warranty. Thank you.
By the time i'm finished with this it will be running two internal 2tb ssd drives on 16gb memory so I would very much like to get this computer up and running, I've spent a good amount of time building it. thanks again. (if anyone is wondering, i did this for fun just to see if i could, yes i know buying a new computer would have been easier and probably cost about the same price in the end, but it's just nicer knowing that i did it myself)

S/N is never on box. Should be on disk envelope and 24 digits. If still having trouble try PSE forum.
