Can't install DAC 10.1.3.4.1 on win2008 R2 x64

Hi all,
I can't install the DAC on windows 2008 R2 x64.
I know I can't use the normal setup.exe but have to use the setup.exe in the win32 folder.
However, the installer will start, but then it will check the OS and then it says that it is not supported.
However the certification matrix says it is supported, but it doesn't work...
Does anyone know how I can skip this check?
I was thinking of installing the DAC on another computer and then copy everything to the target server.
However a collegue thought that there might be some file that needs to be edited so the check will not fail.
Last option would be to uninstall SP2, then install the DAC and then reinstall SP2 again.
Anyone better ideas?
Thanks,
Remco

Hi Navin,
Thanks for thinking with me but you really have to go to to win32 according Bug 9051497.
But thanks

  • How to install DAC server (for OBIA v7963) on linux ?

Guys - I am in the mid of installing OBIA v7963 on linux x64 . And right now I am doing the DAC server installation part .
The installation guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20490_01/bia.7963/e19038/windows_ic.htm#BABHDEJJ clearly says that we have to install
DAC server on windows box first and then copy it over to linux . crude and cumbersome !! As per this guide - there is no way to directly install it on linux .
Where as the downloaded DAC s/w has a runInstaller which works in a 32 bit linux shell (not in 64 bit shell) . I did it and the installation went fine .
This is how it is done in our environment . My question is : why does the installation guide say nothing about this easy way of installing it ? And how
do you guys do it usually ? What's the best practice ?

You are right RM . I straight away installed it on linux . Me installing DAC for the first time - I had no other choice than following this installation guide
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20490_01/bia.7963/e19038/windows_ic.htm#BABHDEJJ
But this method of directly installing on linux is no where said in the guide . I wonder why ? And the very purpose of having a installation guide is defeated here .
I have seen typos in oracle documentation . But this is a huge huge miss in the documentation . I can't believe it .
    Thank You .

  • Error in installing DAC

    Hi friends,

But while clicking the setup.exe file for installing it, it gives me a below error in a cmd prompt like

    Hi Andy,
Thanks for your reply. Yes my OS is 64bit and i have downloaded 64bit DAC.
Do you mean that there is a issue with 64bit DAC software.
Sounds simple, but please confirm that you have unzipped the DAC download before running setup.exe?
Yes i have unzipped the folder and inside in that only i have found setup.exe file in which it is resulted for me in error when im clicked the setup.exe file.
I would recommend the 32-bit version as the 64-bit version has issues with the installer
U recommend to install with 32bit DAC software instead of 64bit.
But if i clicked the win32 file means i can install DAC
    C:\Softserverext\dac_win_101341_infa_win_x86_64bit_910\dac\Disk1\install\win32-->can install DAC
But my OS and informatica is of 62bit, so i recommend only to install 64bit DAC or else 32bit DAC itself is okay and if it will not cause any issue.
C:\Softserverext\dac_win_101341_infa_win_x86_64bit_910\dac\Disk1\install\win64---->resulting in errorWhich path can i prefer.

  • Installing DAC and Informatica

My topology is defined as Informatica PC server in Linux and DAC server in Linux.
    Informatica PC clients in Windows.
That seems to be a correct topology.
I have Informatica PC server in Linux running OK, and also Informatica clients in Windows installed.
Now when coming to DAC installation I am kind of lost... Edelivery has a DAC for windows and a DAC for Linux.
When trying to install DAC for Windows it will install both DAC clients AND SERVER in Windows >> It seems I have to do this and then just ignore this DAC SERVER ??
Or should I use the DAC for Linux ?
When trying to install DAC for WIndows it asks for Informatica location and domain >> It is asking for the SERVER locations ? or the client... it is not clear
How to point to the domain given that Informatica server is installed in Linux ?
Txs. a lot for any help.
    Antonio

    Hi,
Installer allows you to install both DAC Client and server on the Windows. But DO NOT start the dac server if you install it.
On the installer the 3rd page is the 'Component Installation' You can click off the radio button for DAC Server. This will then only install the Client on windows.
On the linux, download the DAC for Linux. This time, click install the DAC Server. start DAC server on the Linux.
Now for the question of Informatica Location. When you are doing this on the Windows, you will have a location for the Informatica eg:
C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\ put this entry in the top field.
Then underneath 'C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\' look for the domain.infa file. Usual path is : 'C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\domains.infa'
Personally i would install CLient and server on the Windows but not start the Server.

  • How many computers can I install my Creative Cloud apps on?

You can install the apps available in Creative Cloud on your primary computer and one backup computer, as long as they are not running at the same time. You will have access to both the Mac OS and Windows versions, so if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, for example, you can install your applications on both. See the product license agreements page for more information.
Read more in the Creative Cloud FAQ

    Jeff,
Here is a concern I have.  I called sales support yesterday and asked the following questions.   I have 3 computers (1) PC tower, (1) iMac and (1) MacBook Pro.   When I first started using Adobe all the way through CS5 Master Collection I always owned the Windows Box Versions.  I have been waiting for months for this to come out so I could move my workflow over to MacOS X.    Since the Creative Cloud supports both MAC and Windows installs the question I asked was can I install it on both my 2 Mac Computers.  Then if I need to use it on my PC can I simply deactivate and then activate on it for use?
The answer your support person gave was "YES"  So the answer in this topic don't even flow with the answers from calling the 800 number!
So now reading this forum topic I am really confused.   I like many others have definate reasons why I may want to flip flop the machine I am using the software on  (1) I have $4500 worth of AE plug-ins.  $2000 worth of these are platform specific.  So they only run on a windows machine.  Even, though I intend on my primary workflow to be used on a MAC there may come a time when I need to use one of these plug-ins and then would have to switch my activation to the PC to use it.
Another scenario,  Let's face it Apple has not been to keen on upgrading the Mac Pro system's.  iMac's are great but have their limitations with graphics cards, drives, and memory.  So if you go a complicated AE render to do,iIt makes a lot more sense to run it on a PC at this time for me.  So my hope here is I would de-activate one of my MAC's activate my PC then render away.
I like many others completely understand that we are only suppose to operate our software on 1 machine at a time.  I am cool with you checking this.  Other posters have asked what if I forget to turn one machine off leave with my MacBook Pro and then fire it up.  Will I be in trouble?  Not sure how you handle this if you don't have a connection.  But Spotify the music streaming company license their software to me the user.  If I fire up one machine,  Then grab my iPhone and try to listen it turns it off on the other machine.  Apps in the app store like MotionX Drive do the same thing.
I am an Electrical Automation Engineer by day and a Graphic/Video Designer Enthusiast at night.   In all the programming software that every vendor provides they provide a licensing server software service that sits locally within the location.  It manages concurrent licenses, without the need for online connections.  Any computer needing to run simply pulls the license from the network connected license server software service.  When the program is done it releases the license.  The only issues with this is if your license server crashes.  It can be a bit of a headache with support to get your license back.   Others simply have an online site (like Apple) Where you simply log in and de-activate devices as needed.  (Heck even Hulu, and Netflix offer this.)
I think if Adobe wants the Cloud thing to take off then they need to re-evaluate this.  The license needs to follow the user not the device.  The user should have a painless simple way to activate and de-activate their license back to their Adobe ID.

  • How many computers can you install software on

I have elements 10 installed on one computer can I install it on another?

I am pretty sure you can put on two computers.  I think after you put the serial number in, Adobe will let you know whether you can put another copy on or not.  It keeps track of how many times you've installed it.  I hope that makes sense.

  • How many times can i install?

Well guys this is the problem, i've got parallels and boot camp and i am looking at getting windows xp home sp2 to run on my mac but then i realized you can only install it on one computer. Does installing it in bootcamp and parallels count as two computers or one? If they count as two, does anyone know a way to install on both?
    hope this makes sense!
    Tom

That is correct, but i am wanting to install separately because there are some features disabled by this.
    But thank you for replying!
Also can i add that i am able to use VM ware if that helps in any way.

  • How many laptops can I install on with only one lightroom 6 license? (not cc version)

I read from somewhere that one creative cloud  account can be used on two different devices, but what about the lightroom 6 version?
If I pay $149 for lightroom 6, how many laptops can I install on? I now have one windows laptop and one mac.
    Thanks for helping.

I selected yours as the correct answer because of the webpage you provided, but I cannot understand that what "only use it on one computer at a time".
If the software is for offline use, how does it know if I'm running it on another computer?

I want to upgrade to Mountain Lion, but I have both an iMac and a MacBook Pro.  Do I have to buy two Mountain Lion downloads - one for each, or can I somehow download twice after paying once?

Actually, having made the same claim a couple of days ago and being proven completely wrong, I have a certain responsibility to correct you by mentioning that there is no limit to how many machines ML can be installed on, as long as you own or control those machines.

  • Can't install printer driver: HP Color LaserJet 2605dn drivers "not currently available from the Software Update server"

I was having trouble printing to my HP Color LaserJet 2605dn from a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, so I went to System Prefernces -> Print & Scan deleted it and atempted to re-add it.  When I try add the printer I get this message:
Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?
After clicking Download & Install (the only option other than Cancel), I get this:
Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet 2605dn because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
What's the workaround when Mountain Lion can't find the driver?
    Thanks!

The 2605dn has dual Network and USB connectivity. Which are you attempting to configure: Network or attached USB?
Printer on, and if networked, use a static IP address
    Print & Scan
    IP
    Provide printer static IP address
Select Printer Software ... HP Color LaserJet 2605dn driver (not sure about that 2600 driver)
    Add
Configure Driver under Options and Supplies
I have a 1994 HP Laserjet 4m Plus set up using these steps and the appropriate driver. I just added another network printer, using the same IP address, but using the above 2605dn driver without any issue other than complaint about a redundant IP address.
Hopefully, you have already sorted this out.
