Can't Install Deus Ex III

Tried this 3 times, same result each time...
The entirity of DX III dowloaded just fine then it was installing. I get this error:
The application could not be downloaded.
An error occurred while extracting files from the package “mzm.gcfiayzg.pkg”.
Anybody know how to fix? I contacted Feral support and they pretty much pointed the finger at apple....

Does anyone know where the app store stores partially downloaded files?
If the pkg wasn't installed, then it's not on the hard drive.
Try clearing the cache that is associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
For Lion v10.7x: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store. Try re donwloading the app.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
If you still have problems, the next step would be to report the issue to Apple.

Yes it will be a major upgrade but frankly I might hesitate to spend more on an upgrade to a laptop than the laptop itself is worth. Kind of like putting $5000 of rims and tires on a $2000 car. Makes it look nicer and maybe ride better but what have you really got? You would be better off buying a $5000 car.

First, you do not have an iMac G5. G5s are PPC machines, but yours is an Intel model.
You can install a SATA III drive but I would not spend the money since your model only supports SATA I or SATA II depending on which model you have. I would also be careful about using Crucial SSDs because they may not all work in a Mac. I would get your SSD at OWC instead. You will find their equivalent product for SATA I or SATA II here. I have two of these drives, and they are excellent.

I am having problems with *Warcraft III, The Frozen Throne* and I do not really understand what you did to get it to work.
Reign Of Chaos works fine, also on Battle Net, but I can't install the add-on The Frozen Throne: the installer loading time is awfull long, and when it finally loads (after 2 or 3 minutes), when I click on the install-button, it tells me to insert the Warcraft III CD. I know that the CD I have is fine (installed it on other machine).
*How do I get it to work with Leopard 10.5*?

I had the same problem, I fixed this by creating a mountable .cdr file using "burn" mounted it and installed if from the image file, after that whenever you want to play just mount the .cdr file and play non need to insert the cd anymore.

What version of wine you have? I have tested 2 different and original W3 Cd's an I always get the same error :S

Bimmer 7 is correct, but it's still plenty fast. I too have a macbook 5,2 that I recently installed a sata III drive in. Start up time went from 1:48 to 34 seconds.

Hi all, I read the manual for the dv6-6117dx laptop, and it stated only Intel based versions of this laptop were able to use SATA based SSD drives, but I think it was referring to SATA 6. Can I install a SATA 3.0 SSD in this laptop as I have a SATA 3.0 SSD 64GB in my desktop that I thought maybe I'd move over to the laptop, but not sure if this is doable due to the manuals reference to Intel only? Hi Pepe, a lot of confusion going on with the new sata designations. I think for everyone's information, I'll try to set the record straight as far as what I have read on the subject, and what the SATA committee, commission, or what-have-you, stated they would like people to refer to SATA standards as. Not sure these are set in stone, but I think they are. Please correct me if I am mistaken. I won't go into anything below sata 2.0 as I either didn't read that part or don't remember. lol
     SATA II or 2.0 refers to SATA 3Gbps not SATA 3.0 - Sata III or 3 does refer to SATA 3.0 which is the current top standard at 6Gbps, hence SATA 6. This is the way it was, but I think now, they have simplified it to either SATA 3 or SATA 6 so there is no confusion, 3 is 3Gbps - 6 is 6Gbps. This is what I read they would like drive makers to label their drives as, and skip the 2.0, and 3.0 monikers. There is also going to be, soon, if not already, SATA Express which will boost performance to 6Gbps, 8Gbps, or 16Gbps using the pci express slot. SSD manufacturers are making them faster, and faster which is good for us as prices on lesser drives will drop, hopefully, and we can use the express slot included in just about all computers, and not have to purchase a SATA 6 controller card.
     And thanks Pepe for reminding me I already knew the answer. The SATA standards are compatible across all speeds, and connections so an SSD should be no problem, but at SATA 3 or less speed, depending on what's in this laptop. I do know it has a SATA HD, and SATA DVD, but don't get why HP would not implement the 6Gbps standard which you, and the AMD specs say, is embedded in the chipset? I'm hoping maybe it's a bios thing or some other update that will fix it because if my current drives are running off an AMD chipset, and the computer has a SATA HD & DVD, then it stands to reason the hardware is there as SATA standards for the 3500m CPU chipset include it. Unless there is a different AMD chipset in here? Hmm, very thought provoking. Maybe I'll call tech support, and try to get an answer because it doesn't make sense at all.

Just trying to think why there would be no SSD drive availability on this particular laptop as opposed to one that is exactly the same except has an Intel chipset? I'm wondering whether HP cut some corners here as AMD's chipset, specification-wise, is superior to Intel's at this point in the game. P.S.. I love this laptop, and doubt any answer is going to make me return it, but I am curious as to why no SATA 6, and maybe not even SATA 3 when the chipset supposedly supports it, and there are 2 SATA drives already integral to the laptop. I am assuming on a laptop, the CPU's corresponding chipset would have to be installed. Given this has SATA drives in it, and a chipset supporting SATA connections, SATA 2.0 should work.

They should all be simplified as SATA 3, SATA 6, SATA E8, and SATA E16. Forgot, this has USB 3.0 ports so I know it has the coresponding chipset for the AMD A8 3500M CPU which supports SATA 6. HP, please answer why this laptop will not allow install of an SSD rated at SATA 6, and possibly not an SSD rated at SATA 3?

HELP! sata 3 ssd for hp mini 110-3118cl netbook, but i can't install windows xp on it.

Greetings, I recently bought an ocztech sata III ssd for my hp mini 110-3118cl but I can't install windows xp on it. I have the xp sp3 install version with SATA drivers pre-packed. When the setup goes through the first re-start, it stops, shuts down and re-starts. It also displayed an error at the beggining signaling something missing
SSd's are very expensive and i exclusively want XP, not 7. Any help?

It is possible that the NM10 ACHI drivers are not part of that package though.
Please read this guide for slipstreaming drivers into a copy of your installation disk and see if that works.

Here is a concern I have. I called sales support yesterday and asked the following questions.   I have 3 computers (1) PC tower, (1) iMac and (1) MacBook Pro.   When I first started using Adobe all the way through CS5 Master Collection I always owned the Windows Box Versions. I have been waiting for months for this to come out so I could move my workflow over to MacOS X.    Since the Creative Cloud supports both MAC and Windows installs the question I asked was can I install it on both my 2 Mac Computers. Then if I need to use it on my PC can I simply deactivate and then activate on it for use?
The answer your support person gave was "YES" So the answer in this topic don't even flow with the answers from calling the 800 number!
So now reading this forum topic I am really confused.   I like many others have definate reasons why I may want to flip flop the machine I am using the software on (1) I have $4500 worth of AE plug-ins. $2000 worth of these are platform specific. So they only run on a windows machine. Even, though I intend on my primary workflow to be used on a MAC there may come a time when I need to use one of these plug-ins and then would have to switch my activation to the PC to use it.
Another scenario, Let's face it Apple has not been to keen on upgrading the Mac Pro system's. iMac's are great but have their limitations with graphics cards, drives, and memory. So if you go a complicated AE render to do,iIt makes a lot more sense to run it on a PC at this time for me. So my hope here is I would de-activate one of my MAC's activate my PC then render away.
I like many others completely understand that we are only suppose to operate our software on 1 machine at a time. I am cool with you checking this. Other posters have asked what if I forget to turn one machine off leave with my MacBook Pro and then fire it up. Will I be in trouble? Not sure how you handle this if you don't have a connection. But Spotify the music streaming company license their software to me the user. If I fire up one machine, Then grab my iPhone and try to listen it turns it off on the other machine. Apps in the app store like MotionX Drive do the same thing.
I am an Electrical Automation Engineer by day and a Graphic/Video Designer Enthusiast at night.   In all the programming software that every vendor provides they provide a licensing server software service that sits locally within the location. It manages concurrent licenses, without the need for online connections. Any computer needing to run simply pulls the license from the network connected license server software service. When the program is done it releases the license. The only issues with this is if your license server crashes. It can be a bit of a headache with support to get your license back.   Others simply have an online site (like Apple) Where you simply log in and de-activate devices as needed. (Heck even Hulu, and Netflix offer this.)
I think if Adobe wants the Cloud thing to take off then they need to re-evaluate this. The license needs to follow the user not the device. The user should have a painless simple way to activate and de-activate their license back to their Adobe ID.

I have elements 10 installed on one computer can I install it on another?

I am pretty sure you can put on two computers. I think after you put the serial number in, Adobe will let you know whether you can put another copy on or not. It keeps track of how many times you've installed it. I hope that makes sense.

Well guys this is the problem, i've got parallels and boot camp and i am looking at getting windows xp home sp2 to run on my mac but then i realized you can only install it on one computer. Does installing it in bootcamp and parallels count as two computers or one? If they count as two, does anyone know a way to install on both?

How many laptops can I install on with only one lightroom 6 license? (not cc version)

I read from somewhere that one creative cloud account can be used on two different devices, but what about the lightroom 6 version?
If I pay $149 for lightroom 6, how many laptops can I install on? I now have one windows laptop and one mac.

Actually, having made the same claim a couple of days ago and being proven completely wrong, I have a certain responsibility to correct you by mentioning that there is no limit to how many machines ML can be installed on, as long as you own or control those machines.
