CAN'T INSTALL DEVELOPER 2000

I can't install the forms runtime ! Every time I try to do this, windows95 gives an error in oiexec.dll. Can somebody help me?
I'm student and need to have this product installed very quickly, 'cause I've got an examination of it in 2 days. PLEASE HELP ME!

Naomi,
Which Forms runtime version r u trying to install ? When is this error coming ? is it giving while installing or after installation when u try to open ur application ? If this dll file is missing then just copy that dll file manually from the CD. Or if u r in an emergency just install the entire forms builder/runtime and just use the run time. simple and silly way to solve this issue.

Boot Camp supports Windows 7 and 8. There are no hardware drivers for older versions.

Boot Camp does not support Windows 2000 - it might work sort off, might not perform well if at all.
You can run Windows 2000 in a virtual machine using something like Parallels for Mac, or VMware Fusion.
To install Windows 2000 in a virtual machine you will need the original Windows 2000 Install Media with a useable Product Key.

  • Install developer 2000 on oracle 9i

i have installed oracle 9i personal edition on my windows 2000 pc. however when i install developer 2000(forms 5) i am not able to access oracle database from developer and oracle 9i also does not give me access. i have installed oracle and developer 2000 on different folders.

    I had the similar problem.
You have to copy the tnsnames.ora from ORACLE9i/network/admin to FORMS5/network/admin.
It seems to be a problem with the PATH-variable.
So WIN2k find the SQLPLUS in FORMS5 first and could not resolve the servicename.

  • Unable to install Developer 2000 on Windows 98

    Hello Everybody
I tried to install Developer 2000 along with Oracle 8 on My Windows 98 PC. The problem was that I was able to install only one of them at once. When either one of them was installed, installation of the other gave some error, which had something to do with Oracle Homes. Although when one of my friends tried to install both on Windows NT, the installation was successful and it is working properly.
Kindly suggest the proper solution as I do not plan to shift to Windows NT.

Justin I am also facing the same problem. Although I could install both of them but I am not able to connect with the database through forms, reports or anything else.
Do I have to give something in HOST at the Login screen. Earlier I used to give nothing as I am running a local database on win 98.
    Please advice.
    Many thanks
    KK

When you go through the installation process for each of these, you'll be asked which Oracle home you want to install them into. Simply specify a different Oracle home for each (you're free to name your Oracle homes whatever you'd like).

  • Installing developer 2000

Guys I am kind of new to this oracle. Ok the problem I am having is that when I finished loading Oracle 8 from the cd( on this location C:/ORAWIN95), it goes through fine.
When I start loading Developer 2000 it tells me to load it in the same location i-e C:/ORAWIN95. But while it starts copyng files it stops in the middle giving me some illegal operation error.
Can anybody explain to me the simple steps for the installation of Oracle 8 and Developer 2000.
I would really appreciate any help for this matter. My basic concern is to be able to work on Sql*plus and Oracle forms in the same time.

  • Can i install developer 10g on redhat 5.3

    Dear Viewers,
i find some doccumentation to install developer 10g on red hat AS 4.
but i want to install 10g on 5.3. If somebody has some link or some idea plz share.
    regards

Well I think you wont find any doc about this.
But I know database server 10g R2 is supported on RHES 5
eg if you have account to my oracle support look for\
    Requirements For Installing Oracle 10gR2 On RHEL/OEL 5 (x86) [ID 419646.1]
    or
    How To : Requirements For Installing Oracle10gR2 On RHEL 5/OEL 5 (x86_64) [ID 421308.1]
so if you check 10g Dev suite RHES 4 documentation try to find similar packages for RHES 5 and it may work...
That is all I can add.

  • N9 can't install developer mode

I have an n9 64gb and whenever I try to install developer mode through both 3g and wifi I keep getting an error like can't install package not found.
I also experienced random reboots and application crashes.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

No problem, wasn't much of a help though.
If such had happened after some sort of flashing or playing around in the dev mode, I guess it would be easier to fix it, but if this happened straight out of box and continues like this, there is clearly something wrong.
My N9 acts perfectly without issues yet, so I wouldn't bother spending more time messing with it.
Good luck and let us know how it went!

  • Can't Install Developer

    When installing to Oracle\Ora81....
msg=The location specified,"C:\Oracle\Ora81", is already used as an Oracle home for 'Oracle816 Production'. It cannot be used as an Oracle Home for 'nt'.
When installing to a different directory....
msg=Oracle Net8 client does not support multiple installations, and therefore cannot be installed on 'ORACLE8DEV'. It can only be installed on 'OraHome81'.
In order to install Oracle Net 8 client, please run the Oracle Installer again, and select 'OraHome81' as the target location.
    My home is Ora81
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance....John

You should install Developer first, then
    install 8i database.
Because Developer will not allow you to
    use different ORACLE_HOME

  • How Can I get Developer 2000 rel 6

    Hi All,
I tried downloading developer rel 6i but anytime I tied that I have this error after when I want to instal " Zip file damaged, truncated or has been changed since it was created, if you downloaded this file , try again"
I am getting frustrated, Can anyone help
    Thanks

I've had the same error message downloading other Oracle products when the file is quite large, > 500 megs.
If there is an option to download the product using a number of smaller zip files, try that. There should be a .bat file provided to assemble the zip files into one large file.
    Good Luck,
    Paul

  • Portege 3440 - Can't install Windows 2000

    Hello friends :)
I have problem with installation Windows 2000 on Portege 3440.
I was running installation Windows 2000 with FDD USBB (with driver for CD-ROM PCMCIA) and CD-ROM PCMCIA. All was ok to moment when I entered to winnt" on q.
During installation without partition on HDD was appeared information on blue background: "could not find a place for a swap file. With partition (FAT32, 6GB): " Setup was unable to install Windows Boot Loader. Ensure that your C: drive is formatted and that drive is not damaged." I was tried with three other HDDss.
What I must do to install this system? (Same users don't have such communiques)
    Thanks for help
    Adrian

so your harddisk isn't bootable ...?
Most likely there is a problem with the MBR ( = master boot record )
    Do the following :
*Download BootIt NG ( free, use google ) and transfer it to a bootable diskette
*Start up with your FDD, run ( do not install ! ) BootIt NG, delete the MBR, make a newMBR and format your HD to fat32
    then :
*start-up with the fdd-DOS-bootdisk and transfer the DOS-system files to the HD with the command : *sys c:*
*remove all peripherals ( the fdd and the pcmcia-cdrom ) and reboot, your PC should boot with the DOS-files
*if so : transfer the i386 dir from the W2K-install-CD to the HD again ( may be done on another PC )
*boot again with the HD, with no external drives connected
    *go to the i386 dir and start winnt.exe ;
    commands :
    *cd i386*
    *winnt*
if this method isn't succesfull, I presume there must be a hardware-problem with the HD

  • How to connect the local database of Pesonal Oracle From FormBuilder of develope 2000

I installed developer 2000 with personal Oracle in win95. I opened Oracle Form builder and click connect submenu of File. It prompts for user name, password and Database. I added scott/tiger for user name and password and I do not know what I should add into the database item. I tried to add oracle or Local Database to the database item, but it did not work. I also tried to use system/manager/oracle, but it still did not work.
Please tell me what should I add to the database item.
    Thanks

You can use the "Oracle Net 8 assistant", "Oracle Net 8 Easy config" to see if you have the appropriate entry to the server in the local tnsnames.ora file (find it!). I mean that one in the Forms&Reports home, not that one in the Oracle_Home.
Under local I mean the file tnsnames.ora in your application, not at the Oracle Server - this is a common mistake.
You have to have there an entry like:
    REKS816.RILA.us =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = bigbluenew.rila.us)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = REKS816)
It is a bad practice, but you can add such entry using simple text editor. But before that make a copy of tnsnames.ora in order to restore it if you do not succeed.
After that go to "control panel" and run "services".
Look at your Oracle_Home_TNSlistener80 process. Stop it! Start it again!
If you work on Unix find the relevant processes and notions of the Unix OS.

  • Developer/2000 Release 2.1

    Hello everyone,
Please help me find a place where I can download Oracle Developer/2000 Release 2.1 from.
    Thanks.

It may be available through Oracle Support depending on the platform you need. You will need a valid Support Contract and access to MyOracleSupport (http://support.oracle.com)
Here is the info for Windows.
Oracle Developer Server Release 2.1 for Microsoft Windows NT
    Part number: A63484-01
Oracle Developer/2000 Release 2.1 for Windows NT and Windows 95
    Part number: A63486-01
The following should be considered before attempt to request or use the above:
    1. This product was desupported long ago and is not entitled to any Technical or Development support.
    2. This product version was not Y2K compliant. As a result it likely will not install correctly as the installer is sensitive to the date.
    3. This product was never intended to work correctly on the current operating systems. So, even if you are able to get it installed, it likely will not work correctly.
