Can't install drivers for sound blaster live Telling me there isn't a sound blaster card install
I am doing a fresh install of xp on a machine. This machine had no hardware issues before I formated the dri've and re-installed windows xp.
Everytime I go to install the drivers for the sound card I get an error message telling me that setup cannot find a sound blaster card installed on the system?
I even pulled a known working li've card from the machine I have downstairs. Put the card in and started up the machine. The driver pack is still telling me there is no card installed. I've tried three different pci slots as well.
I even went as far as re-installing windows xp without service pack 2 integrated and even that didn't help!!!
Is there some kind of fix that I am missing?
the unipack download from creative will not work. first, try asking around if somebody else has the same 5. creative card as yours. the only solution for your problem is to use the installation cd that came with your creative card. I lost mine so i went to a pc repair shop and inquired if they have a copy of such cd - they normally do.
. you need to remove all the programs concerning creative from add remove programs. 2. shut down, and remove the sound card. 3. turn the pc on and let windows boot normally. install the the softwares and drivers using the cd that came with the box. 4. shut down and install the sound card 5. turn on the pc. windows will find a new hardware and will find the right drivers bec you have previously installed them. There is absolutely no need to reformat your hard dri've.

Hi, guys. I have a problem. I can`t install drivers for Promise IDE on WINXP. I `ve got an error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". In Norton Ghost (DOS) drive on Promise work fine. I can`t install WINXP + SP1 on HDD on Promise controller. After pressing F6 and installing driver i `ve got an error Can`t find drive. BIOS 193 beta. Devices: IBM 120Gb 180GXP on primary master, Seagate 120 SATA 26AS on Third master. CD-ROM and DVD-ROM on secondary channel. Drivers 1.00.1.37 from ASUS and 1.00.1.29 from MSI. No result.
And another one. Why very poor perfomance when copying large files (700Mb). When starting copying speed is 25-27Mb/sec, when finishing 5-8Mb/sec. All drives under NTFS.

So if I do not misunderstand you, Windows hangs when accessing the drive?
Is it only with this drive, then maybe it's an incompatibility between the controller and the ata electronics of the drive.
Or maybe it's completely broken.. have you tried it on the ICH5 IDE controller?
If it works there you should use this configuration.
I've read about problem with some drives ... take a look into the threads on the top of this board (FAQ etc.).
What I found out yesterday: You can use the Promise in RAID mode and define a RAID0 array with only one single drive. So you could use the Fasttrak driver from MSI, which is up to date.
I haven't tried this solution (one disk in a RAID0 stripe configuration), but I think it should work...
Maybe you give it a try
PS.: Before you switch to RAID mode, you have to change the Promise Driver... but be careful: windows won't boot with the wrong driver - your last chance would be "last known good" then... -

But after 7% it freeze and crush and showing blue screen saying there is problem with resetting
I tried so much but still crushing and failed to reset
Then i canceled reset and when i go back to my windows it can't start up .. it start hdd recovery instead
I tried start up repair but still doesn't start up
so i bought a new windows 8.1 pro and install it on my laptop
the problem now that there is some drivers did not found like wireless adapter, Bluetooth, and so much else
so i tried to download driver from your website , but after i inter my laptop model and everything it's show me that there is no drivers to download ..
where can i found drivers for my laptop .. i can't connect to wifi and can't use Bluetooth because my new windows 8.1 pro that i bought did not install drivers for it ..

If the above drivers doesn't fix the unknown device under Device Manager, can you follow this guide on how to install the drivers via their Hardware ID or you may want to consider installing Windows 7 64bit (this would be best if you'll be utilizing 4GB RAM and above).

Akuma is right. Since Win 7 is not finally released, you will not find the Win 7 drivers.
But as mentioned the Toshiba US page provides some Beta Win 7 drivers for different notebook series its worth a try
Furthermore you could try to install the Vista drivers using Win 7 OS.
Usually the Vista drivers (but not all) should be compatible with Win 7.

Satellite A205 S4797 - can not find drivers for my drive
I have recovery disks and Windows Vista installation disk. When I try to install error meesage says it can not find drivers for my drive.
I tried scannong CD drive and it cannot find them do 32-bit, 64-bit all have different drivers and if so where do I get the one I need if not from the install disk or recovery disk from manuf.?If you cannot use original Toshiba recovery DVD for OS installation I can imagine there is some problem with DVD itself (some missing file or scratch) but Microsoft Vista installation MUST work on this notebook model.
If this doesnt work too there must be some problem with HDD. Just if you want to install WXP you need to load SATA driver at start-up but Vista must work.
Can you please tell me what happen when you try to install Vista from Microsoft Vista installations DVD? -

I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp already, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now: I've got only BootCamp 3 disk and it doesn't goo even if I start it using compatibility options. And my BootCamp on Mac didn't offer me to burn cd with drivers for windows as I saw in many instructions. How can I resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.
Go back to Boot Camp: on the 2nd page you get this:
Download the support software and as Windows is already installed uncheck the 2nd box. -

Please take a look through this installation guide, Installing the Printer Driver Using the Windows 7 Built-in Solution for a USB Cable Connection.
Otherwise, if that does not work, you can try to download the Windows XP driver, HP Officejet Basic Software and Driver, and run it using compatibility mode. Make older programs run in this version of Windows.
If neither of those two options work, then the last step is to try an alternative driver, please see this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R.

I am using ati hd 3200 which is integrated with my motherboard. If you are using arch you can download & install through pacman. The package is named like catalyst*. You can install them by issuing as root user
#pacman -Sy
#pacman -S -l | grep -i catalyst
#pacman -S catalyst catalyst-utils
After installation reboot your machine in runlevel 1. (single mode). Ensure "fglrx" module is loaded correctly using
#lsmod | grep -i fglrx
If the resultant output have "fglrx" part the module is loaded correctly. The next step is to create a working /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Backup your current xorg.conf if needed.
#cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bkup
Then issue
#aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf
This will create a new xorg.conf file. Now we can test our confign.
#telinit 3

If you graphical login screen works correctly there is nothing to do more except adjust your monitor resoloution as you like.
To know your ati driver is working correctly issue as root

If gears are rolling happily it seems correct. You can also know more about installed ati driver

Hi, I can't found drivers for display Toshiba TruBrite.
That's why I had frequnce on display only 60 Hz.
Could you help me with this trouble?LCD technology is different and cannot be compared to old monitors. LCD displays work on 60 Hz refresh rate and this value is fixed. It cannot be changed.

I don't understand what you mean with display definition but if the right (Toshiba offered) driver is preinstalled everything will be OK. There is nothing that must be defined. Absolutely nothing.
TrueBrite or not there is nothing to be defined.
So if the display driver is preinstalled and if you use right display resolution everything is OK.
