Can't install due to only 10 character s/n

I just bought a refurbished 30GB Ipod Photo. When I tried to install Itunes with the cd that came with it, it asked for an 11 character serial number but mine is only 10 characters. What do I do?

Im not sure about that but Id say your best bet is to contact apple if you bought it from them, or just email them at the link below and see if they can help

Also double check the number, you may have over looked one. try entering the 10 and see if iTunes will go thru with the install anyways.

Can't install due to "registry" and "dll" error messages.

I can't install any Adobe products. This occured after a complete reinstall of my Windows XP - if that has anything to do with it. I have done a reinstall before without any problems.

I don't know exactly what "repaired" means in installing an OS. What I did was use my reinstall Windows OS disc and follow the instructions for a "clean" install. The prompts say that my files will be wiped out, and that programs will have to be reinstalled. When promted to pick a partition I always pick the default of a 50/50 split of the hard drive.

Hi all. I just upgraded from CS3 Production Premium to CS4 Design Premium and I want my After Effects back. I still have the disk for the CS3 Production Premium so if I pop it in, can I install just After Effects? Thanks!

There is a special version for windows XP i dont remember the exact number right now but you have to install from that specific cd and plus you need to install patches 13.
If i understand you correctly, you are not able to connect to database? if so, you need to configure the tnsnames.ora file. you can use the Net8 easy config from start/programs/$oraclehome$.
or you can manually set it from Oraclehome$\net80\admin\tnsnames.ora
set it as:

I suggest you de-install everything you have installed previously, and start fresh.

ITunes can't install due to old Quicktime installation

I'm trying to install iTunes on my teachers laptop for her- she's a technophobe but has bought a new Shuffle for her husband. I go to install, and it throws and error at me saying 'Cannot due to old version of Quicktime'. There were 3 version- Ive managed to ditch two, but one simply won't uninstall as it says that a certain system file is being used by another application. I'll try and get the file path if I can.
It;s a school laptop and they're set up by trained monkeys, they're so ungodly slow and badly set up. So, any suggestions?

When I get the chance, I'll probably try and boot the PC in safe mode and see if that'll take care of it. If this doesn't work, any other ideas?

Can I install OS X Only?

I recently decided to reformat my duo G5 and while attempting to put the OS back on I could not find a way to ONLY install the OS. The only option I got was to install the bundled software as well.
Since I have purchased my mac all of the bundled items have been updated so I would rather just install the new version on the machine afterwards. Considering this machine is used for video work many of the items that come bundled will not even be used.
So...can I just install OS X ?

You need to boot the computer from the Software Install DVD in order to install the OS.
Once booted, when the Installer application opens, choose to customize the installation.

How can I install iTunes and only scan locations on PC without scanning the whole PC?

New to iTunes... Want to install but want to control where is scans for media.

iTunes will only scan teh very first time it is installed on a computer.
After you install it, select No when it asks to scan.
Then iTunes menu File > Add folder to library and select what you want.

ITunes update can not install due to Apple Software Update

When i download the newest edition of iTunes it saves to my desktop. Then i double click it, it asks me the usual (where i want the files installed to etc) then it seems to update, but near the end, it says "The Older version of AppleSoftwareUpdate cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group"
I have tried uninstalling iTunes and installing a fresh copy. It would not let me install, i have tried deleting the entire program files by uninstalling, deleting all files and erasing iTunes from the registry. Also to no avail. i am now stuck with itunes 7.3 which i copied from another computer.
Can someone please help?

First head into your Add/Remove programs control panel, find the "Apple Software Update" entry, and then attempt to remove it.
If Add/Remove won't let you uninstall it, or you can't find it in there, or if Add/Remove lets you remove it but you still get the same message on an iTunes install, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:

Launch the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find "Apple Software Update" in the list of programs in CleanUp, select the Apple Software Update entry, and then click "remove".

I have tried to update to mavericks. I had no issues downloading it, but when I tried to install it said error, try going to dis utility to repair. I tried that. It diednt work, I have also tried to go to the recovery disk utility and it hasn't worked either.what can I do?

Can't install due to later version of iTunes already installed

When I attempt to install the Airport software, I receive an error message that says the installation will not continue because a later version of iTunes is already installed.
I am running Windows Vista and iTunes 7.2.

I am hoping that by posting here this topic will become current again. My situation is exactly as described below; new computer, attempted to install airport express from install disc; get fatal error b/c I'm running later (7.2) version of itunes. Tried installing from English folder, which appeared to work, but no Airport Express Assistant shows up for configuration purposes. Any suggestions?

this update went live while my phone was out of the country- and ever since the phone is searching for a netwrok and I am unable to install the update?? not sure what to try . I have tried re-booting etc but cannot get connected to the network. HELP!!!

It sounds like you have not been able to connect to your cellular network on your phone, as it just keeps saying "Searching". I would use these troubleshooting steps from the following article:

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Turn iPhone off and then on again.

Check for a carrier-settings update. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Then tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, iOS will ask you if you want to install it. If Wi-Fi isn't available, connect your device to iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Restore the iPhone.
If you're outside the United States, please also follow these steps:
Go to Settings > Carrier > Automatic.
If the phone registers any carrier network, Settings > Carrier will be present.
If the Carrier option is missing in Settings and you're outside of the Unites States, please contact Apple for support and service options.
Set the option for Automatic to off.
A list of potentially available carriers appears after about two minutes. If the device is locked to a carrier, it may connect only to the carrier network to which it is locked. If the device displays carrier networks, then the device is working as expected.
Set Settings > Carrier > Automatic back to on.
If you're still experiencing No Service issues, contact your carrier to check for any network or account issues that could cause these symptoms.
