Can't install Flash plugin on 64-bit Linux (CentOS) system

Firefox complains:
"You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video.
Download it from Adobe."
I download the latest version (Flash 11, Linux 64-bit) and placed the "libflashplayer.so" library in the Firefox installation directory and in /usr/lib, but Firefox doesn't see it.
I've spent two full days on this now. Please help.
Thanks,
Steve

Hello Chris,
I have the same issue, but I've tried all the options you suggested and is not working either.
this is what I get when trying to install it, the option you mention before "
1. Download and mount the dmg from http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.2.202.235/install_flash_player_osx .dmg
2. Right click on the "Install Adobe Flash Player" icon and select "Show Package Contents".
3. Navigate into the /Contents/Resources/ folder and double click the Adobe Flash Player.pkg file. "
is not coming up :/
I will much appreciate your help
regards

After being discontinued by Adobe,  Flash for 64-bits Linux seems to be back. Is there still a maintainer for flashplugin on Arch64 ? I think it is still in beta but flashplugin and x86_64 users would be grateful if the package comes back in the repo !

how can i install flash player for window 8.1(64 bit) on my laptop?

For Internet Explorer, you don't. Microsoft has already done it.
For Firefox, Opera or Safari, use the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
For Chrome, you don't need to wither because Google puts it in the browser.

  • Please Help - Can Not Install Flash

This is not about downloading or uninstalling, this is about getting flash installed.
I have a Power Mac G4 with 10.5.8 I was trying to install the latest version of Flash Player and it did not work.
I used uninstaller, then downloaded - install_flash_player_10_osx.dmg.- Everything went fine until the end. I got a - The following install step failed:run postflight script for plug in.
Then I downloaded - flashplayer10_1r102_64_ub_mac.dmg - opened it,right clicked on it and went to "Show Contents" then "Resources" and tried installing - Adobe Flash Player.pkg. I got a - You cannot install PlugIn on this volume. A newer version of this software already exists on this volume. Even though I used uninstall to get rid of all Flash beforehand.
So now any website that need flash player I can not use.I have looked all over this web site for an answer. Please help me get flash player reinstalled, the lattest version if possible.

  • Can not install a plugin in CS4

    hi there
i tried to install three plugins on my cs 4 (using x64 SEVEN OS), it finished installing but there were no sign of that plugin in filter menu ...
i tried "Imagenomic Portraiture Plugin v10.1008" but there were same reslut ...
the point is that i can not install any plugin on my CS 4 ...
i also tried opening cs4 32 bit in my x64 OS but there same result too ...
    its making me crazy ...
    please help ..

Some plug-ins are found under FILTERS, some under IMPORT-EXPORT, some under scripts, possible some under ACTIONS, etc. Have you checked in these odd places as well?
Another possibility is that it is installing under an earlier version of Photoshop if you have one installed.
That excludes the possibility you are dual booting Win-7 and it is, for some reason, installing on the wrong partition.

  • Can't install Flash player on mac os 10.8.4

I can't install Flash player on mac os 10.8.4 (Safari). The adobe help tells me I've installed version 11.8.800.94 - but the player is nowhere to be found...

Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg
If it won't download directly, right click and "Save as"
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)
    Empty the trash
    Reboot
Mount the DMG and run the installer.
BEFORE opening any Flash content in Safari, open Safari>Preferences, and check the Security tab to make sure "Allow all other plugins" is checked.

  • The old permissions problem - Can't install Flash

I know this is an old problem but I have tried every remedy in the book and some I never heard of.  I simply cannot get access to the old dll file.
Vista tells me I don't even have permission to view the permissions of this object.  So, to put it simply I can't install Flash 10.1 and the old one has been uninstalled except for the troublesome dll file.
I have tried every method of either lowering the permission level or raising my authority without success. I have even tried some risky approaches.  Is there a way to force the installer to install the new version to a new location?
    TIA.
[I have spent hours on this both yesterday and today.]

Hi, Forgive me for omitting the essential info. I am running Vista Home
Premium (32bit), My primary browser is Opera 10.61.   I also have a
recent version of Chrome and IE 8 on my machine.
The error message on installing Flash 10 is that it doesn't have
    sufficient permissions to write to
    Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\NSPWF.dll:5).
Since my previous note,I have temporarily solved the problem by
downloading the xpi version of Flash and putting the appropriate files
in the Opera plugins directory. However that does not solve the problem
    for Crhome or IE8.
The larger problem is that I have run the installer as administrator,
logged on as administrator, tried changing the properties and owner of
the dll file and the entire Macromed folder.  I even tried renaming the
folder. Permission is always denied.  The most offending notice is one
that tells me that I don't even have permission to see or edit the
    permissions of the dll.
Note: I did check to make sure that no identifiable processes were
running that would not let me access the dll.
    Thanks.

  • Can I install Flash CC 2014 with the $9.99 Photography Package?

I just bought the $9.99 CC photography package for Photoshop because that's what I originally wanted. Now I see that Flash CC also has a button that says "Install" instead of test with the trial version of CC. Can I install Flash CC for no extra cost? $50/mo seems a bit too much to download more than one application, especially since I'm not using it for anything but my own enjoyment.
    Thanks

NO. The photography bundle really only contains PS and LR. This may  simply be a glitch.

  • How to install a plugin on 64 bits windows 2008 server?

From the developer forum, I found a description which told me how to install a plugin on windows series system, but I only succeded intalling the plugin on 32 bits windows xp, couldn't install the plugin on 64 bits windows 2008 server. Any ideas or advices, men of genius? Thanks :-)

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
