Can't Install Gears Drivers

I'm trying to install iTunes 10.5.2, the version as seen here, on my new HP Pavillion dv6t laptop. It's running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, SP1.
Installing iTunes goes smoothly, but when it opens I got a "iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CDs, you need to reinstall iTunes." message. I reinstall it, even reinstall it from scratch (removing all folders and accesory programs, such as Bonjor, Apple Software Updater, etc.). I still get the message. I remove all other CD-related programs (Roxio, ImgBurn, CDBurnerXP, etc.) to see if those are causing conflicts, but to no avail.
After running the iTunes CD Diagnostics, iTunes sees my optical drive but can't read any discs in it.
After doing some research I install the Gear drivers found here. The message still pops up.
After looking at this help article I dive into the registry and discover that there is no UpperFilters in the appropriate registry. Sure enough, looking at the optical drive in Device Manager shows that no UpperFilters is present within the driver details. As per the article, I manually type in the entry, restart, but now neither iTunes or Windows itself can see my drive. I have to remove UpperFilters from the registry just to get the drive to appear.
I copy the necessary .sys and DLL files from another Windows7 64x machine with iTunes and copy them to my computer. No luck. I even try reinstalling the Gears installer and iTunes. Now I get this error message on iTunes startup: "Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
After taking a cue from this article I try removing LowerFilters from my registry to determine if it's conflicting with Gears or iTunes. After rebooting iTunes and Windows can't see the optical drive at all.
I even try reinstalling Gears and iTunes while in Safe-Mode, to hopefully bypass other programs. But alas, while in Safe-Mode I'm not allowed to run any installers.
After all this, I can only surmise that something in my new laptop is causing some sort of conflict, keeping the drivers from Gears or iTunes from ever installing at all. Otherwise, they would have by now. During the install/reinstall/uninstall process I never get any hang-ups, error messages, etc. According to their respective installers, everything installs successfully. But clearly they aren't. The Gears drivers are not being installed, and not being assigned to the UpperFilters that iTunes is looking for, hence prompting the error messages.
I can't think of anything else to try. Any advice would be appreciated.

Slight Update:
So I hadn't tried actually importing any music from CDs yet. This is a new laptop, and I wanted to get everything squared away before bringing in my library or any files. But I tried importing an audio CD anyway, and it worked perfectly fine.
I even tried deleting the (empty) UpperFilters slot in my registry, and iTunes can still import CDs.
However, when I tried to burn a CD from iTunes then I notice a problem:
So the Gears driver only seems to apply to burning, not importing as well as I had originally thought.
So far, iTunes seems to be functioning; with two notable exceptions:
On opening the program there is a delay, then that error message about iTunes being improperly installed pops up
iTunes cannot burn to disc

How can I install gutenprint drivers for my Epson Stylus Color 440?

Good day all!
I have and old and useful printer -Epson Stylus Color 440- and just bougth a cable for connecting it to USB port. Add a new print on its Print and Scan Preference Panel and it was recognized inmediatly, but I was told there was not any driver to that printer.
Tried to set "Epson Stylus Color Series" on its driver but when I went to print, printer seemed to work but does not eject any ink. It seemed as if I were ran out of ink; its car moved over the places occupied by the photo and sounded as normal printing, but not a drop of ink. I checked on an older windows pc, and ink is full, printed normally. I also looked for its drivers on Epson pages, but it seems there are only available for previos Mac OSs, not for X.
A son told me that in his Snow Leopard MacBook White there's a dirver called "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" on his Print and Scan Driver Menu; haven't tried to print from his MacBook yet, and as I searched, those are open drivers.
I wonder if I can download and install that "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" from the web, of if there's a way to copy it from my son's Macbook, when he comes and check.

MSI 785GM-E51 can't install audio drivers

Hey, I would be grateful if you could help me with this problem.
When I try to install the audio drivers of this mobo(785GM-E51), Windows 7 can't find them. It offers me another set of drivers - that of VIA's, but it should be Realtek's. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but I have a an issue with front panel microphone jack(it's not working), so I want to install the proper drivers. I tried disabling auto-installing option of Windows 7, and then install the drivers that MSI offers officially , but still the computer acts as if I didn't install anything.
EDIT: It seems that I have a different motherboard - in the document I have(about the parts of PC), it says that the computer has MSI 785GM-E51, but now that I checked the informationa about motherboard in the Windows itself, it appaars that ASrock M3A770DE is in the case. So I guess the fact that I can't install the MSI's drivers is because of different mobo. I have no idea how this could've happened.

I can't install the drivers on Satellite A665

Hi every body,
I have a problem with my new Satellite A665 laptop.
I downloaded TV tuner driver but I can't install it on my computer but every time when Im trying to install it the computer ask me the security question and I agree on that.
After that the extraction for the installation file happened and suddenly something like owl pic appear for a moment and disappear after that without install anything.
The same thing happened when I tried to install the 3D staff that I downloaded from Toshiba site on my computer.
Can anyone help me?

Exactly. Every new Toshiba notebook is preinstalled with Toshiba recovery image and this recovery image contains all necessary drivers, tools and utilities so it is not necessary to install anything.

I dont understand this sentence. Fact is that new notebooks are delivered without any installations CD/DVD discs. You must create recovery DVD alone. How to do this is described in users manuals document. Check it out.

I can't install bootcamp drivers on my Windows 7 partition.

As of now I am trying to run 32 Bit Windows 7 on my mid 2011 13 inch Mac Book Air. I downloaded my version of Windows from Onthehub.com and went thru the process of coverting it to an ISO file, putting it on a flash drive, downloading the support software, partitioning my hardrive thru bootcamp and installing the software. After figuring out how to select the hard drive partition I wanted to boot into I created my user account and began going thru the process of trying to install the drivers. The first round of drivers I tried to install were Bootcamp 5.1 drivers which were geared for 64 bit Windows 7, and did not work. After surfing the support forums I then downloaded Bootcamp 4 and tried to install those drivers instead. The bootcamp setup driver currently does not want to load for me. I have tried removing my admin privileges and reinstalling the Bootcamp 4 zip file--seperate events--but have met the same message: This software is not intended for this computer. Based on my research the macbook air I have should be able to run 32 bit Windows 7 and Bootcamp 4. Everything else about running this operating system has gone off without a hitch, but not being able to use my track pad to right click or my volume buttons is pretty inconvenient. Anything obvious that I've missed, I'm a music teacher by trade so its more than likely that I missed something obvious... like asking the computer nicely... thanks folks!

if you are not going to be playing advanced 3d games ditch bootcamp and install your 32bit version of windows in virtualbox or another of the virtualmachines then it will work and if you use timemachine for backup it will include a backup of your windows which it dont do when you use bootcamp

Can't install mac drivers for a windows 7 installation

Hi all,
I am new to Apple and have a brand new 27 inch iMac. I am trying to install Windows 7 on it, and after much much slow progress, I thought I was almost there.
I followed the instructions carefully, and have gotten to the stage where I have a bootable version installed on the iMac, I have - 2 actually - downloaded DVDs with bootcamp and the Mac supported software, but when I follow the instruction that says double click on setup.exe to install the drivers, all I get is an error notice that says "this program cannot be run undos mode". I am further confused by whether I should be attempting to run this program under win 7 or Mac, but since I can't do anything under win 7', the screen does not respond, I am at a loss.
Help much appreciated.

Got it!
Just needed to use a standard keyboard and mouse, and not the Apple Bluetooth ones.
Turned on iMac, held alt key down to turn on windows 7, and new keyboard worked, and let me navigate into disk drive via windows, click on install, and here I am watching it doing just that!

I installed bootcamp 4.0 4033 so that I can install windows 7 32 bit on my mac. Everything works fine until I try to install the drivers and I get an error message stating the version of windows does not work with the drivers I am trying to install. I have a feeling somehow I am downloading 64 bit drivers when I need 32 bit. I spoke to Apple and they said I can't use 32 bit windows.. but that is not what the support site says (it says I can as long as I use bootcamp 4, not 5). Also, my bootcamp assistant is version 5.. I have no idea if that matters. Help please.. been searching online for hours.

I can't install the drivers from AppleMultiTouchTrackPadInstaller64 on WIndows 8.1 (Bootcamp dualboot)

When I try to install "AppleMultiTouchTrackPadInstaller64.exe" (Apple Multitouch (09/04/2013 5.0.20) and Apple Multitouch Mouse (09/11/2012 4.0.3.0)) on Windows 8.1 I get an install failed. As a result of this, I can't use right click (does not even work with a two finger click) or scrolling.
Note: I have a macbook pro retina 15 inch from late 2013. I used Bootcamp to install windows 8.1

I have Installed windows 10 pro x86 based system on my G245 G3 notepad I can't find any drivers from HP website .

Hi,
Nearly all hardware vendors won't release drivers for Windows 10 until Windows 10 is officially released (not preview). Windows 10 should install drivers for your machine after few updates. Windows 10 can find all drivers (except one: finger print) for my 5 years old machine. It should be able to find drivers for newer machines).

R400 help, new W7 install, can't install needed drivers

My daughter's R400 Thinkpad was experiencing the blue screen and shutting down, restarting, etc, etc, etc. I tried the recovery options to no avail. The laptop came with no discs. So after sitting in a corner for months, I decided to attempt to fix it for her. After much research and screwing around, I managed to make a bootable USB stick with Windows 7 pro and booted the computer from it, and managed to get the OS installed. The W7 OS was downloaded from the MIcrosoft website, and verified with the code from the laptop. I figured once I had W7 loaded I could simply connect to the internet and download/update the drivers as needed... NOT. I can't connect to the internet because nothing works without drivers (my ignorant assumption anyway).
So, I thought that I would download the drivers onto my laptop and put them on a USB stick and just install them on hers... again, NOT. I can't access the USB stick.
Not sure what to do now. Help?

Your daughter's ThinkPad should be able to install certain drivers by itself, such as USB. If you go to Device Manager, are the Universial Serial Bus controllers recognized? If not and the driver can't be updated, then you may want to save the files on to a CD and load the drivers on the machine that way.

How can I install JDBC drivers for Oracle?!?....

i have a program that has this line:
import oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource;
that gives this error when I compile it:
package oracle.jdbc.pool does not exist
So I think I need to install JDBC drivers for Oracle. (?)

and downloaded the files for JDBC Thin.

by entering these commands (I'm using Ubuntu):
export CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/path/to/files/ojdbc6.jar
export CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/path/to/files/orai18n.jar
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/path/to/files
When I type echo $CLASSPATH I can see that those commands worked, but it hasn't made any difference when I try to compile.
I still get the same error. Is it because I didn't do anything about the .so files? The readme page didn't mention them in the installation section.
Please help! I am so stuck...

I don't think you need the shared libraries (.so files) and given what I saw when I glanced at those pages, I don't think they'd even work for you, although maybe I just didn't read enough of it.
What happens when you type
javap oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceon the command line?
How are you invoking javac? Are you perhaps passing a classpath argument?
Are you sure that the path to the jar files is correct? Are the paths relative?

Please help - can not install modem drivers

I recently installed an external hard drive. For some reason that seems to have erased the Westell 6100 modem set up/ drivers. I tried re-installing using the Verizon cd, but when I click account set up I get a message that I do not have administrative privileges. I checked and I am in fact still the administrator. Any thoughts on how to fix or why installing the back up drive would do this? I know my DSL connection is still good because wifi is working. This is on a MAC computer. I called Verizon which was a joke.

By what you said, it sounds like you are using some sort of Wireless NAT router.
If you are using a Wireless NAT router to handle the public IP like I suspect, you do not need to install any drivers for that Westell 6100 modem.

I can't install new drivers on Audigy

I have installed drivers SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303.exe
I downloaded last update SBA2_PCWDRV_LB__84_55-R.exe from support site.
But I can't install it - message box with text about Audigy 2 card doesn't install in computer appears.
I saw in "requirements" what SP2 needed. I installed SP2 on Windows XP, but it didn't solve the problem.
What can I do to solve this problem?

If you have the drivers-amd64-04805.zip file then extract that and run the setup program again to uninstall other files.-- REBOOT --Windows will come up with the found new hardware wizard, open it and select install from specific location.Download the SBA2_WEB64_LB_2_03_0004.exe file from the creative site. Run the installation and wait for it to come up with the confirmation box about closing all other applications first (two buttons [ok] and [cancel].When it is at this point go back to your install from location hardware box and tell it to include the search path "C:\windows\temp\" in there look for a dir starting CRF000 or simular. Then browse to Drivers and wdm. Thus your include path should look something like ... "C:\WINDOWS\Temp\CRF000\Drivers\wdm". If you can't find this dir then search the windows temp directory for a folder called WDM and you will want the one containing the newest files.Hit ok and windows will find the drivers in this dir and install them for you. Just point the rest of the game input device etc to the same folder and then cancel the creative installer and reboot.Just like magic your sound card will be working. If you can't follow this then maybe you should just wait for creative to sort the problem out. =) It seems like a very common problem

I’m sorry to hear that you are not able to install Bluetooth drivers in your Lenovo ThinkPad E430.
Check in BIOS if Bluetooth is enabled and then try to install the Bluetooth drivers.
If you have any difficulties in finding the drivers, please share the MTM number of your device.
