Can't install iOS 8.1 on iPad mini

My ipad mini says iOS 8.1 is downloaded I go to install and it asks me to agree to terms and conditions, I click agree then it brings up second box for me to click agree. Then it brings me back to the terms and conditions and it just sits there. Won't do anything when I click agree or disagree again. Any idea how to fix this?

How much space have you got on iPad mini you need 5G to complete download What Gig is your iPad You can remove some Apps to make some space if you have iCloud you can get them back later. When you have downloaded iOS 8.1 the older iOS will be removed Then you will get some space back. Or you can download from your PCI with iTunes But I would download over wifi after making some space. • How can I install iOS 6 on an iPad 1

How can I install iOS 6 on an iPad 1. It is currently running iOS 5 and when I follow the directions at Apple for updating ( connect to computer, open iTunes, on summary page click software update) it just says iOS 5 is updated to current version. Does anybody know if an Pad 1 will run iOS 6? And if it will, what do I need to do. Thanks

    You can't.
The iPad 1 can only run iOS 5.1.1.

  • Can't install iOS 8 on my iPad

Can't install iOS 8 on my iPad 3, while there is 6,1 GB of free space available. Why?

Same issues on several iPads. Looks like it's not just me, looking at social media reports.
I have removed more apps and data again and again. Every time I have to wait 15-20 minutes downloading the installer and every time it stops with no information on how much space it needs.
I have 6,1 GB of free space now. How much is enough?
These are issues I expect from other companies, but not from Apple.

  • Has anyone installed IOS 7 on an iPad Mini yet?

Just wondering if anyone has installed IOS 7 on an iPad Mini without any problems.
    I am scared lol
    Thanks!

My mini is stuck - the new software has definitely downloaded, I'm at the verification stage but it fails after anything between two seconds and five minutes telling me the software is not available.  It has to be available as it has downloaded.
My iPhone 5 downloaded and verified okay and so far I've only seen this mentioned for the mini.  I've tried again and agreed to the terms and conditions proably 30 times now and no joy.  At least the iPad is usable still but it would have been good to have it ready to use like the iPhone is.

Why can I not get ios 7 on my ipad mini 16 gb? It's frustrating.

  • HT4623 How can I install iOS 6 on my ipad 2

Help me on how to install iOS 6. Due to that in the setting it doesn't have icon to update

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

  • Can i install ios 7 on my ipad 1?

  • How can i install ios 7 on my ipad, it will not update to this it is still on 5.0

I cannot get my ipad to update to the latest software it is still on 5.1.1 and is saying 'your software is up to date' ,  however some apps keep asking for a most recent software version

It's too bad that ipads that are only on the market for three and a half years are for many, obsolete because they can no longer be updated. They make some apps useless because they have been upgraded to an ios system that you can't use.
In case you need to update your apps, you might want to upgrade to a newer ipad. They're expensive, but you might consider a trade-in and get money toward a new ipad. Something you might also want to consider is the Apple certified refurbished store (online only.)
They have ipads that come and go, sometimes quickly. Each comes with a new front and back cover, a brand new battery, and a full one year warranty, including 90 days phone support. They come with a cable in a new white box. Shipping is free. We have refurbed ipad 2s and they have been great.
If you sell your ipad1 you can use that money toward a nerer ipad. Gazelle.com is taking ipad 1's back (all gb) for $70.00 dollars. Sellyourmac.com is giving $81.00/16gb, $86./32gb, and $90./64gb for an ipad1 in good condition. And you can make a counter offer. Casforyourmac.com only gives quotes after you give in address, so can't help you there. And as designphotoguru pointed out (see below) they'll add $25.00 to your highest offer. If you counter offer to sellyourmac.com and they accept it, then go to cashforyourmac and they'll addd $25.00. So you could end up with over $100.00.
While most would go for the newest to keep updated longer, note that the ipad 2 16gb is still being made so ipad 2 still gets the updates, and ipad 4's are only a little more $ than the ipad 3 which was discontinued after only months on the market.
So please take a look at the post below and hope you enjoy whatever will make you happiest even if that means sticking with your ipad1. (our family does not feel the need to always have the newest.)
    Hope this helps.

Hello I was wondering if anybody has advice on the best place to sell my used iPad online?
Right now I am looking at three different options:
    Gazelle.com
    # SellYourMac.com
    CashForYourMac.com
I noticed that Gazelle and SellYourMac do not offer very high prices for my iPad, but they do give an instant quote.  I got a much better quote from the websitewww.CashForYourMac.com and also I noticed they have a promotion code "HolidayBonus" that guarantees $25 more cash than Gazelle or SellYourMac.  I submitted my quote request and within about 24 hours I received a quote that was, as they promised, over $25 higher than Gazelle or SellYourMac.  (In my case it was an iPad 4 with 64GB and my CashForYourMac.com offer was over $75 higher than Gazelle.com)
Having sold devices to all three companies in the past, I can tell you they are all good options, and they all offer free shipping, fast payment, and a fast and easy selling process.  So it really comes down who offers the most money - I ended up going with Cash For Your Mac because $75 makes a big difference and even though they don't have as much history, my experience in the past selling to them was great, with good email communication fast PayPal payment within 24 hours after they received my shipment.
Does anybody else have any suggestions on these three websites or comments on the best place to sell your used iPad  Thanks for your input!

  • Can u get iOS 7 on ur ipad mini if u bought it a long time ago

can u update ios7 on ur ipad mini even thought it has ios 6

Yes. If it's running iOS 6, it can run iOS 7. The date it was bought doesn't matter; only which model it is does.

  • Why does certain games crash since I installed iOS 7 on my iPad mini? It is the 64 gb one so it still has heaps of storage space but real racing 3 which used to work fine on ios6 now crashes every time yet it worked on my iPhone 4S fine ?

Ever since I updated my iPad mini to iOS 7 the game crashes every time I open it! Although it goes alright on my 4s. Recently I purchased need for speed most wanted adze by fire monkeys and guess what that crashes at the start too? The iPad is no where near capacity  I don't understand has any1 else had this prob and if so how did they fix it?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • Can't install iOS 8.1 on iPad 3rd Gen

My son has a 3rd gen iPad with 64Gb of memory.  We have 47Gb free and currently have 8.0 installed.  We cannot get the "over the air" update to 8.1 to work.  Here is what happens.  From Settings, we tap download and install, then the Terms Of Service comes up with Agree and Disagree buttons.  We tap Agree and then a confirmation box comes up and we tap Agree again.  That box goes away and we are left at the original Terms of Service and nothing happens. We tap Agree again and nothing happens. At that point no matter how many times we tap agree or disagree we are Frozen although the agree button does change color when we tap so it's not totally frozen just stuck..  The only way to get out is to press the home button.  I have tried killing the settings app from the task switcher (double tap home and swipe up).  And we have rebooted his iPad as well.  We have tried this several times over several days always with the same problem.

HAve you tried updating the iPad througo iTunes? All you have to do is plug it in and then go to the ipad page and click check for updates.

  • Can't install iOS 8 on iPad with sufficient storage

Can't install iOS 8 on my iPad 3, while there is 6,1 GB of free space available.
iTunes says I have the latest version installed (while it's developer iOS 8 beta 3).
    What can I do??
Suggestion for Apple: the iOS installer could temporary remove installed apps to clear space and restore the apps when the installation is complete.

These are user-to-user forums, you're not talking to Apple. To leave feedback : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
How much space is it saying that you require - I thought that on mine it said 6.7, but I wasn't paying that much attention. You could try deleting something else e.g. if you have any films or TV shows downloaded then you could copy them over to your computer's iTunes library and delete them from your iPad.
But if you have iOS 8 beta installed then you should be posting in the developer forums : https://devforums.apple.com/index.jspa

Wiped our old iPad 1 clean, now can't install iOS from iTunes using laptop PC (W Vista).  iTunes does not "see" the device.  Tried uninstalling and installing iTunes on laptop.  Also bought new USB cable.  The iPad is charging, but that's all it does.  Just want to get it operating again for browsing and e-reading.

OK.  You merely erased the content and settings.  The IOS is still there.
If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures.  From what you've already stated, my guess is that you'll end up with Recovery Mode described in the last paragraph.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.
