Can't install iTunes (message re: Apple mobile devices)

iTunes stopped working.  Message said to re-install.  When I try to download, I reach a point at which I get message about Apple mobile devices, that I don't have permission...and I can't get any further.  Can you help?  Thanks.
This is using iTunes in Windows (for synching with my ipod).

Hi North Naha,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are receiving errors in Windows when installing iTunes, I recommend completely removing and reinstalling the software using the instructions in this article:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
When reinstalling iTunes (step 3), be sure that you are logged in to your computer as an Administrator:
Make sure you have an administrator account.
To install iTunes or QuickTime, you need to log in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure you have an administrator account, you may find this Microsoft article helpful: Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You can refer to the Help documentation from Microsoft, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for more information.

I receive a massage that a new version of ITunes was available (11.1.4). I proceeded to update, the download went ok but when installing the Message “Service ’Apple Mobile Device’ failed to start, verify that you have sufficient Privileges to start system Services”
On pressing retry I got the same message.
On pressing Ignore, I got the message “ITunes was not installed correctly, please reinstall ITunes – Error 7 – (windows error 126)
I reinstalled with the same error messages and the same results.
I uninstalled existing and reinstalled from scratch and the same error messages again.
I try to repair and at the end it said it had installed correctly – but when it tried to start I got the message “This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem” I now get the same message when I first start the computer but when I press ok I receive ““ITunes was not installed correctly; please reinstall ITunes – Error 7 – (windows error 126)” again.
It appears the update has not only corrupted the operating system (Xp Pro SP3) of my computer but I have no backups to my IPhone, my wife’s IPhone or the three others phones that use my computer.
I hope you can advise me how to recover my backups

unable to reload Itunes, gave me a message  Service apple mobil device fail to start. Verify that you have sufficient previliges to start system service, need help

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

  • Installing iTunes error: "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start..."

I recently bought a new iPhone 4, and tried to sync it with my laptop, but it wasn't recognising the device.
I tried a few troubleshooting steps listed on this site for the issue: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/itunes/#section_0
But after uninstalling the listed apple programs and manually deleting the folders as instructed, iTunes will not properly install now. It won't even recognise my iPod at all now, whereas before there was no issue with my iPod. Any ideas?

  • HT1349 Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

  • I tried to update itunes it corrupted the previous version, I'm trying to install new copy get this message "service apple mobile device (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privleges to start system services." Help!

Not sure what to do.  I've tried a system restore on my computer after the update in hopes of undoing the problem, that didn't work.  I've tried to install, the new version of itunes for over two days now and I get to the point where it says "starting services" and it almost get's done and then it gives me that message " Service apple mobile device (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privledges to start system services."  Then it gives me three options to click on "abort", "retry" or "ignore".  I've tried to retry over and over and it does no good, I just get the same message.  I've tried ignore and the one time it did finish installing itunes, it didn't work, I got error messages telling me that it failed to download properly and I needed to delete the program and download it again.  I thought maybe it had something to do with my ipod not being pluged into the computer so I pluged that it and it's still giving me the same message.  I just don't know what to do.  I'm very frustrated and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.  I'm completely out of ideas.
