Can't Install iTunes on my pc windows 7

I'm having trouble installing iTunes on my Windows 7 64-bit. I keep getting this error message everytime I runthe installer file.
Can someone please help me? It's becoming really frustrating.
And it's not a problem from my pc. It's brand new.

For installation program, you are not supposed to copy files over from another system like that.  All installation must go through normal installation files on yor system which will update your system registry.  Otherwise, it won't work.  Now your system is all messed up.
Guess you have to do Uninstall and Re-install of iTunes from scratch.
Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
***follow strictly to article HT1923 to remove all traces of Apple Programs*****
3. Go to this link to download Revo-Uninstaller.  Run it to clean up last traces of Apple software on your system and registry.
http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html?tag=mncol;1
4. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch
Followed all your instructions thoroughly, still same result
Also the last three software components kept coming back even though I've uninstalled them many times

Can't install itunes on my 64bit windows 7 laptop. Says there was a problem with the windows installer package and a program required for this install to complete could not be run..

  • Can't install itunes 10.4 on Windows 7 home premium

I am not highly technical, so please bear with me:
After repeatedly being unable to update itunes 10.2, I thought I should just uninstall it and install itunes 10.4. Wow, what a mistake. After many hours I now can't run my MS Office programs AND I can't load or run itunes.
Originally, while trying to update itunes, I kept getting the message "errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose tools > download only and try installing manually." This confused me as I could not find "tools."
After some reading online, I decided what I should do is download the Windows Installer clean up tool. Apparently this was the BIG mistake. I selected Apple items to remove with msicuu.exe, only to find that now my MS Office 2010 programs no longer run ("Microsoft Office not installed for this user"), and I still can't install itunes.
I tried installing itunes 10.2 and got a message that I must install a 32-bit version of itunes.
I used the cleanup tool once again and tried to install itunes 10.4, and got the message: could not open key: UNKNOWN\components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8\6A262021B4A79884EA585F5E86D 86338. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.
Now when I try to run MS Office software, getting message "Preparing to install", then, Configuring Microsoft Office Professional Plus, then something about the program not being installed for this user (I'm the only user).
I realize that this board probably can't help me with MS Office software, but can you help me with itunes?

  • Can't install iTunes 64 bit on windows 7

I reccently attempted to update itunes on both my computers on my Desktop it was done in 10 mins however on my laptop it first gave a intall error 7 and then I searched online for a fix and saw how uninstall all apple components worked for some people and decided to give it a try. Now when I attempt a clean install of itunes i get two errors sometimes it is apple mobile device failed to start and I attempt to start it manually with no sucess and I get an error to verify that I still have acess to a folder, which I have and I have attempted to install itunes now for nearly a week and all my music is on my laptop and documents and my laptop is a 64 bit windows 7 OS so pls help

    Many thanks.
I think you've got two different types of problem going on at once here. Let's try clearing this second error out of the way first.
the second is "Error writing to file: C:\ Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\Webkit.resources\inspector\Images\timelinePillGreen.png. Verify that you still have acess to that directory."
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through without that particular error message afterwards? (Whether this works or not, we still might have to deal with the system services message.)

  • I can't install itunes 10.7 on windows.  Schema.strings error message

I cannot install itunes 10.7.  All I get is an error message which reads
Error writing to file: C:\Programme Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncServices\Schemas\Bookmarks.synchschema\Contents\Resources\fi.lproj\ Schema.strings Verify you have access to that directory.
The schema.strings file is in the location required but I still can't install.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors

Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Can't install ITunes 11.04 for Windows 8

I've tried to update ITunes using Apple Software Update to 11.04, and it can't install giving me a message error. Please help.

  • Can't Install iTunes 10.6.3 Windows Vista Windows Installer Problem

Basically, just before installation completes a popup of "There is a problem with this Windows InstWhat exactly would I be missing??? please help !aller package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run.".  I've read many threads that state that all I have to do is run a repair on the Apple Software Update(ASU) but my problem is that I've already uninstalled it. Now what comes to my mind is that, it wasn't a clean uninstall as I just uninstalled through Add & Remove.
So I would preferably like to get an answer to the whole problem or if not what files are linked to the ASU that might cause this problem. Please help I've alot of things and I really hope there is another solution then to reformat my PC, I really don't wanna reformat my laptop just for iTunes and because I have an iPhone, I unfortunately, have to depend on having it installed.
Back story (Why I do not have ASU):
When I updated my iTunes and several other Apple software, I was unable to start itunes, kept getting a permissions issue. So I set all the permissions to my User Account (note that I am, from the start, using an admin account) but still errors kept popping up. Usually when an update doesn't work I just go through Add & Remove and uninstall all Apple programs before trying to reinstall iTunes and etc, which I did, Except this time...

Download and save a full itunessetup.exe or itunessetup64.exe file(depends on your operating system).
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Use Winrar to unzip the file into a folder. Then right mouse click the file AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi from that folder to install.
If you don't have winrar, you can go to this link to download a free trial version.

  • Can't install iTunes 12.1 on Windows 7 64-bit.

This seems to happen with every fifth or sixth iTunes update, and iTunes is incapacitated until the following update.  In this case, the error message is as follows:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft VC80.CRT .type="win32" .version = "8.0.50727.6195"  HRESULT: 0x80070091

Ready to roll up your sleeves and try again?
The steps below should result in a set of detailed log files on the desktop for the selected installer. Once generated review the logs for clues as to why particular components would not install.
Uninstall all Apple components, as shown in second box of the troubleshooting user tip.
Extract the .msi files from your chosen setup file into the root of drive C:\
See the Install missing components section of the user tip for more information on this step.
Triple click the first line from the relevant batch below that corresponds to your setup file.
Press Ctrl+C on your keyboard to copy the selected line.
Press the WindowsLogoKey (between Ctrl and Alt) +R to open the run dialog.
Press Ctrl+V on your keyboard to paste the selected line.
    Press Enter/Return on the keyboard.
    Follow any on screen prompts.
    Repeat for the next line.
You will end up with 5 or 6 text files on your desktop which are the installation logs.
You should review the log for any component that failed to install correctly using Notepad or Notepad++ looking for keywords such as error or failed.

  • Can't install iTunes 9 on Vista. iPod services have stopped?

I can't installed iTunes 9 on my Windows Vista PC. When I try to install, the installation process gets to about 95% complete, then an error pops up saying "Serice 'iPod Sevice' (iPod Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start the service". I also get a Windows System error that says "iPod service module (64-bit) stopped working and was closed". I can't install iTunes 9 and can't find any answers. And yes, I'm installing iTunes as the system Admin. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

My problem is with Vista, but slightly different to the above.
I bought a new Vista PC yesterday and was able to download iTunes 8 to it.
I'm also still using my old XP PC until I get the Vista one properly set up. Last night I ran all iTunes/iPhone/iPod Touch updates successfully on the XP machine.
Today I am updating the Vista PC. Safari and Quick Time have downloaded.
iTunes itself reaches 98.7 of 98.8 verified and then fails.
The error message I am getting is ""The windows installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance"
I have no idea what that means, does any Vista user know what the Windows Installer Service is and how I sort this out?
There is a pop appearing occasionally about setting up 'winlock' - I have no idea what that is (need to google to find out) so have ignored that until I understand what it is.
I've tried both running direct from the download and saving to my PC but still the same error message. Odd that the program installed yesterday but the updated version will not do so today.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
