As the subject says, I can't install JRE 1.3 with Mozilla Build 0.9.7. The downloading process completes and then it starts to run the installation program and the Java coffe cup graphic comes up, but then the installtion software just hangs. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  • Can't Install JRE 1.5.0-05

I can't seem to install JRE 1.5.0-05. I'm currently using Windows XP SP2. O have tried both the online and offline installers. I get to the point in the install process where the status reads 'Copying new files' and a window pops up that says 'Please insert the disk: 1' Well.... I don't have any disks to insert.
    Anyone come across this before?
    Thanks.

I should add that I click okay and it keeps poping back up. So my only choice is to cancel out of the install process.

  • Checksums don't match so I can't install JRE (Sparc)

    Hi all:
I download both files sparc.sh and sparcv9.sh twice with sun download manager and without it.

Since I use SDM once I think is pointless tell you ; that I download on windows PC and then transfer (binary) to a sparc machine (S10/u6).
Does anybody know why the md5 checksums of these files are missing.?!
Can you help or forward this issue to know may help me??
    Thanks!

How did you purchase your Adobe software?  Did you purchase a volume license?  If so you can go to https://licensing.adobe.com/ and possibly download the software and burn it to disc outside of the firewall?  If it is a retail copy did you purchase the download version but are now looking to obtain a physical copy of the software?
The physical media does come on one disc and if you do download the software it will fit on a single DVD.

Reviewing the preceding posts, I saw the suggestion to remove a java folder in c:"Program Files ..."
Imagine my surprise to discover that there was such a folder on my system after my uninstalls of java using Revo Uninstaller.
There were also java executables in the windows, System32, SysWOW64 subfolders.
After I again uninstalled the jdk 64 bit, I deleted all folders that seemed to contain java
When I reinstalled jdk 64 update 24 to c:\s\java, I was again not asked where to install the jre.
Inspecting the folder tree at c:\s\java I can see c:\s\java\jre but no folder c:\s\java\jre6
However, after this install I am able to execute the java command without seeing an error.
I don't think I'm fully functional yet because an attempt to start eclipse 3.6 (Helios) gives an immediate error windows "Failed to load the JNI shared library "c:\s\java\bin\..\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll"
Since the file c:\s\jre\server\jvm.dll does exist, I'll try re-installing eclipse.

  • Can't install jre plug-in

My problem is that the jre isn't running, and when I try to download and install the plug-in, first it thinks it is already installed ( it was ) and tries to uninstall it.
    I get the error message
    ERROR # 0x80040702
    Description: Failed to load dll:ActPanel

It will not install the plug-in over the old one, and the old one is missing a dll ....Help! Where can I get this dll, and install it, or force the plug-in to install over the top of the messed up one!

This is an InstallShield error. I Googled with the error code and found a number of hits, this looks promising:

I'd also suggest that you visit the InstallShield knowledge base.

    Thank in advance

    Hi Kenan,
Thank U and please tell me where I can find JDK 1.3.1_04, I searched in google but it couldn't find.
However, as the error message when I install Oracle 8.1.7, I think it needs JDK 1.1.8:
The Java RunTime Environment was not found at 0/bin/jre. Hence, the Oracle Universal Installer cannot be run.
Please visit http://www.javasoft.com and install JRE version 1.1.8 or higher and try again.

I already load and install JDK 1.1.8_v3 but nothing new, :-(

    [jdavid],
Hmmmm ..... it could another issue with the Win2K operating system i.e. the COMMAND.COM version.
I'll cut and paste the section of the Release Notes that might give some clues:

  • Have installed jre 7. Why can't I install firematcher?

    Dear Sirs,
have firefox 3.4, want to install Firematcher (addon fpr plagiarism check). At least Jre 6u12 is required, although I installed Jre 7, I receice an error 'you have to install Jre 6u12min'.
    Why does this go wrong?
    Thanks in advance for reply,
    Yours sincerely,
    Tina

My advice is to contact the developer of that extension for support. The website says it is a beta version, and the website was last updated on 03/01/2010; so I suspect it is a dead project which is unlikely to be developed any further.

  • Can't install Oracle 9i for Red Hat Linux AS3

    Ched

Did you carefully go through all pre-req steps for install?
Oracle needs some "compatibility libraries" as well (compat-lib*). Here are packages for AS 10g, most or all of which apply to Database too.
    Checking operating system packages: gcc-3.2.3-20,compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.122,compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,setarch-1.3-1,pdksh-5.2.14,sysstat-4.0.7,gnome-libs-1.4.1.2.90-34.1,libstdc++-3.2.3,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,compat-glibc-7.x-2.2.4.32.5
When required packages are in place, there's another error lurking, related to __libc_wait symbol.
runInstaller "boots" OUI, which includes running a JRE from tmp. This JRE (build 02) is broken, but you can setup to run another one via oraparam.ini and JRE_LOCATION. Download build 10 from Sun (google "jre 1.3.1 download").
