Can't install latest Itunes, error "service apple mobile device failed to start
I just finished reinstalling Windows 7 64bit and I am in the process of trying to install the latest Itunes and it gives me a few errors during the install process. First error is "HRESULT: 0x80070BC9", it also had some other stuff before that but didn't take the time to post it. I click ok and the install process starts over again and gives me a different error which says "Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start, make sure you have sufficient privliges to start system services." I click on ignore since I don't have any apple mobile devices and the installation continues on until it gives me the first error again and will eventually quit.
I downloaded the file from Itunes website like I always have in the past and never had any trouble. Could this have something to do with me just finishing reinstalling Windows? Is there something that needs to be installed in order to install Itunes?
Just thought of this, I don't have all the Windows updates installed yet, still in the process. Should I wait until Windows is finished updating and then try to install Itunes again?

Yeah, the 1935 errors referencing 0x80070BC9 (you're getting a 1935 error even though the iTunes installer doesn't return that error message number with the message) can be associated with having Windows Updates still stuck in the pipe, or pending completion until the PC restarts. Keep stocking up on the updates, restarting the PC whenever requested to do so. Once you're up to date, can you do the iTunes update?

Me too. And if someone comes back on here with the same solution of "uninstall and re-install", please provide further advice after you have done that 3 times and the program still has the same problem in addition to the "failure to load the C runtime library" R6034 issue. I have removed itunes 3 times however I do not have permission to remove the program files/apple file and the uninstall doesn't remove it.

Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

not able to install itunes in windows 7. Whwn I am installng setup the error displayed as "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" and when i ignore this message and continue with installation of itunes and open the installed itunes in laptop it gaian shows the error "iTunes was not installed correctly. During the installation of Itunes I get the following error: Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privledges to start system service. I then have three buttons abort, retry and ignore. I have hit each button once and got no good results.

I too was having the same problem when I tried to update and then unfortunately uninstall and re-install itunes. But, like Nige above me says, you need to uninstall all your Apple software and then re-install itunes.

Normal update of iTunes to 11.1.4 fails. Suggests installing from web site
I install from iTunes.com. Install issues the messages:
Service "Apple Mobile Device' failed to start.
Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services
I do have necessary privilegs. I hit ignore. See window with successful install come up and finish with launch. I get the messages:
iTunes was not installed correctly.
Please reinstall iTunes
Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Tring to start iTunes from desktop gives:
This application failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found
Re-installing the application may fix the problem.
Further repair or remove/reinstall does not fix the problem (including after reboot)
Thie is the first time this has happened. I'm not sure where to go from here

Uninstall iTunes and attempt to reinstall
Verify that I am signed in as an administrator

When attempting to update to latest version of iTunes on my PC (11.1.4) I received an error message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error as well as: AppleSync Notifier.exe - entry point not found, the procedure entry point sqlite_wal_checkpoint cound not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll.
I unistalled iTunes, then attempted to reinstall. I already tried it from the installer Running it as Administrator and still get the same message. I click "ignore" and finish the installation but when I try to open it I get this "Runtime Error! R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly." I already uninstalled iTunes and all other applications involved and re-installed itunes from the itunes site and the problem persists. Please help!
