Can't install Lion in two macs

Hi, i'm using a MBA where i purchased, downloaded and installed LION with no problem. When i sign in APP Store with the same apple ID in my Imac 27" i can't seem to be able to download and install LION on this machine...it shows the price and buy now button. How do i install it for free on my 27"? Thanks in advance

the same thing happened to me, and I couldn't even get to download lion on my second macbook pro, because i was getting this "500 internal server error".
And to my surprise, I checked my paypal statement and I was charged 20 times for Lion, a total of $599.80.
I'm talking to apple about it, but till now no solution.

what kind of hardware fault are you talking about?
    Memory or logic board.
if it was installed, what would be the problem (for you) to be installed again?
I'm not sure what you mean. I agree that if the machine is in working order, you should be able to install Lion on it. But apparently you can't, despite trying in at least three different ways.

  • On how many mac's can I install Lion

I purchased Lion on my mac mini which I use as media center with Philips LCD (at the moment lot of problems as 10.7 has a bug with HDMI output to LCD TV's but assume that will be fixed soon). Now I also would like to install Lion on my MAc Pro, if I log in the app store on my mac pro I am unable to download Lion . The icon say's install instead of the price so it recognises that I have purchased it all ready but it does not download. As I only have one account with Apple it looks impossible to install Lion on two Mac's.
Anybody any hints or tips ?
    Thanks

    Install on all authorized computers
When you purchase Lion from the Mac App Store, you can install it on all your authorized Mac computers. Just sign in to the Mac App Store from each Mac and download Lion from the Purchases list.
The icon say's install instead of the price so it recognises that I have purchased it all ready but it does not download.
May be a connection problem, just try again.  Go to the purchased tab, when you click Install, you should be asked for your Apple Account, then you should see:

I own two I macs. I bought and installed Lion on one computer. How can I install Lion on the other compute without additional charge?

If it's the same email address Apple registration on both, use the 2nd computer and go to the App Store and find Lion. If different, use the second computer but log in to the App store with the address you used on the first go round. The buy button should instead say install. Then go through the same process again.

  • My old IMAC is a few years old.  Just bought a new one OX 10.8.2.  The old one is  OS X 10.5.8.  Can I install Lion or ewuivalent and then synch both on ICLOUD.  Or is there another way to synch the two computers.

You can use Migration Assistant in Applications > Utilities to get all your files from one iMac to the other. If you want to upgrade your older model to MtLion you need to have at least a mid 2007 Intel Core 2 Duo with a bare minimum of 2GB of RAM. Then you need to buy the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD , update with
    Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
at which point you can access the App Store to purchase and install MtLion 10.8 where you would then have access to the iCloud.

I have a BT Infinity router plugged into the Time Capsule, not sure where the radio settings are?
They are able to use the network settings of the TC i.e. they can connect to the internet via the wifi through the TC but when they try and connect to the AirPort Disk this is where it is not allowing a connection.
I don;t have the drive shared out at all at the moment, is this necessary?  How do I do this if so?
I have attached the screen shots of all the settings.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Mac mini early 2009 - can't install Lion?

Hi, I can't quite believe this - can I really not install Lion because my mac mini only has 1GB of RAM? This is very disappointing. I've just got myself an iPhone 4S, so effectively I can't use any of the iCloud features because my mac mini can't run Lion. And apparently there is no alternative. Thanks a lot for letting me know that in advance, Apple! That wasn't mentioned in the vast amount of advertising I've been subjected to lately!
So is there anything I can do about this? It's ridiculous that my phone is apparently cleverer than my desktop. I bought the mini because I was told it was a reliable, workhorse-type computer, and now I find I can't use a major feature of the new iPhones. I might as well be using a PC! In fact, I'll have to turn iCloud off on my phone again now, as it won't bloody sync with anything anyway!
    I'd appreciate any guidance here,
    Suz

Hi Suz, it's pretty easy to upgrade/add more RAM sometimes, & recommend professional do it other times, & as Allan says, more is better, & I'd hate to run Lion with only 4GB of RAM. Yours may not be one of the easy ones to do.
    Find your Mini here...

Then on this page scroll down to your Mini & click the Memoery link under it...

  • Can't install Lion from usb to my mac pro!!!

I created a USB boot disk per instructions and when it boots on my Mac Pro all it goes to is the Safari Only interface with no options to install anything. Just to be sure I boot to the same USB on my Macbook Air and I get the OS X Lion install options/interface so the USB key works.
I have a brand new 3TB drive as the install disc. I did boot to a Snow Leopard install disc so that I could format the drive correctly as the USB key didn't give me those options. In any case I can't install Lion for some reason to this machine. Any ideas?
It's a 2.8Ghz Quad Core Mac Pro bought in Oct of 2008.
    Thanks!!

It's not specifically hardware specific. But IIRC the Air computers used a special version of Lion, at least when Lion first came out.
Try this, use LionDiskMaker to create the USB installer.
Serial Serveur » Lion DiskMaker (US)
See if that creates a usable USB stick.

  • I installed Lion on my MAC book and now want to uninstall it, can't seem to find a way to do it, any suggestions?

I installed Lion on my MAC book and now want to uninstall it, can't seem to find a way to do it, any suggestions?

In order to uninstall Lion and "downgrade" your OS, you have to erase your drive. There is no other way. If you have a bootable clone or a Time Machine backup, it is easy - just boot with it, erase the drive, and clone back. Or, do you have your install disks? Boot from that disk, erase the drive and reinstall.
Make sure you back up your important files first since they will be gone.
