Can't install Outlook Connector - authentication problem

Hello:
We are not being able to install Outlook Connector in two PC's running Windows XP. After filling authentication data the installation program states that the information is not valid. With the same installation files and the same authentication data we can install Outlook Connector in every other computer without any problem. We have tried to install the Microsoft update for root certificates KB931125 but the problem still occur. We have been performing search regarding errors logged in sjoc.log with no success:

I'm sorry, I forgot saying that via webmail the authentication is OK, so user and password information is right. I have asked the users to try what you suggest.

Also have you tried accessing the https webmail front-end using Internet Explorer and permanently accepting the SSL certificate?We use a Verisign certificate.
I have asked the used to try to permanentle accepting the certificate. I have the feeling that it's a certificate relating problem and I think that it can make it.

Oracle Outlook Connector Deployment Problem

I am trying to deploy Outlook 2003 with the Oracle Outlook connector. I am using the Custom installation Wizard provided by the Microsoft Office 2003 Support Tools.
I have set the Oracle connector to piggy-back on the install, however, it will not setup each user automatically. Even using the ini file. You have to manually setup each current user and new users as they come to a new pc.
I want Outlook the CIW to setup the Oracle connector automatically using a .PRF file (Outlook profile file). Unfortunately, with 3rd party connectors, you have to setup the .prf manually. But, other than the white paper provided by Microsoft, there isn't any info on how to manually setup the .PRF file that will setup the connector?
Do I need to call Microsoft (and spend the $250), Oracle, or is there anyone out there that has this info?
Any help would be beneficial to everyone trying to deploy the oracle connector to a large amount of machines without ever having to visit each pc.

Not yet. I have issued a TAR with Oracle and have talked to a technician about this problem. He is now meeting with engineers to see if it is possible. I have also been on the phone with a software company called AutoProf and testing their software Profile Maker 8. The tech that I spoke with there is also working with the engineers to come up with a solution. Right now it looks as though some scripting is going to have to occur to get it to work right. I'll keep you posted.

Outlook connector calendar problem

I having problem with outlook connector, my users are able to see each others calendar from /uwc but they are not able to browse each other calendar from outlook, I have read something in regards of aci setting in ldap directory but I have no idea where to start.

Outlook connector GAL problem

We are are running Sun Communications Suite 5 ( mail and cal 6.3, directory 6.0, outlook connector 7.2.403.0). We are having some trouble with the Outlook Connector and Global Address List. It seems to be functioning - you go to address book, select GAL, and start searching. Your results will show up however the search takes about 5-10 minutes or so and during the search Outlook "stops responding".
I tried to follow this guide to add vlv indexes:

It didn't seem to help but I'm unsure on how to verify that it is working with the GAL.
I do not see any errors in the configurator's log or in the directory logs. If you have any suggestions on figuring this out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I installed Calendar Server 6.0 2004q2. Deployed Connector for Outlook on Outlook xp SP3.
It can see Calendar Server, but cannot validate account information due to invalid Calendar version.
It is not so, because Connector needs Calendar Server version 2003q2 or later.
Still I got error log entries and cannot get it to work.
Please, help me out. I don't know what to do.
I looked for new Calendar patches and install them, but it doesn't work. I tried installing Synchronizator 1.1 patch 2 and it works just fine with Outlook and Calendar Server.
Have anyone any ideas?
Do I need to have Messaging and Comm. Express up and running to achieve this?

Can't instal mysql connector extension for libreoffice

I am trying to install a mysql native connector on libreoffice but I get an error during installation:
"loading component library failed: file:///home.../uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu2gkbw6.tmp_/mysql-connector-ooo-1.0.1-linux-intel.oxt/mysqlc.uno.so"
First I thought it was incompatible with LibreOffice 3.4 as it is an OpenOffice.org extension actually, but I tried and it works at least on windows installtion.
Has anyone encountered this?

You would think by now that people would know.
Tomcat (and any other application server) has its own ideas about Classpath. This is necessary so that each web application can have its own individual classpath setup.
The classpath for a web application is
- WEB-INF/classes
- jar files in WEB-INF/lib
- shared jar files. eg in Tomcat jar files in /common/lib and /shared/lib
Setting the system classpath will NOT affect the classpath of a web application.
To solve your problem:
Put mysql-connector-java-3.1.12-bin.jar in your WEB-INF/lib directory.
At that point the class should be found.
Even better set up a JNDI datasource in Tomcat and use that:

Better again: Don't put sql code into a JSP. It doesn't belong there.

I have problem to install ExtendScript ToolKit 2. I had installed ExtendScript ToolKit 2 and removed it with the Uninstaller. Now I want to reinstall it but it doesn't work. The setup says there is a conflict with the already installed ExtendScript ToolKit 2, but I have removed it.
What can I do?
I have searched in the registry about keys with the ExtendScript ToolKit 2 and removed it, but no success. I have searched in the file system for ExtendScript ToolKit 2 and removed all, no success.
How can I force the installation?

I have just had exactly the same problem and I ended up telephoning Adobe support - officially free products such as the ExtendScript Toolkit 2 do not get telephone support.
The person I spoke to at Adobe suggested I run the CS3Clean utility, and that worked for me. See http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402767
BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN FULL FIRST
In my case I only needed to run level 1 in the utility. Bit of a pain though to have to uninstall everything and re-install.

Can't install Windows 8 - Partition problems

Ive recently installed a SSD (Samsung 830) into my iMac 2011. It already had a 1 TB HDD in it but I want to install Mountain Lion and Windows 8 on the SSD.
Installing Mountain Lion was a piece of cake but now im getting problems installing the bootcamp partition with Windows 8. See below

Ive tried to creating the bootcamp partition with the DISK UTILITY and the Bootcamp assistant, but neither of these methods work. Is it because of the 1TB HDD thats causing these problems or is it something else?

Yesterday, I tried to install Edge Reflow CC (Windows 7, 64 bits), and it failed.
Indeed, I always have the following message : "Le nom de fichier court 'Generator' n'est pas valide" (in french) I traduce by "The file short name 'Generator' isn't valid".
I donwloaded the install files via the CC manager & via the Adobe server, and I've the same result.

Hello, Eprz, When do you see this message? Do you see it after Edge Reflow CC has installed from the CC manager and you open Reflow? Do you see this message in Photoshop? Edge Reflow should install correctly regardless of what version of Photoshop or Generator you have. However, it might be incompatible if you have an unreleased newer version of Photoshop that you received from a place like a beta or prerelease program. Here is what happens in the Reflow installer:
1. If you install Reflow with no Photoshop, Reflow installs, but, the Reflow-PS plugin does not.
2. If you install Reflow with a version of Photoshop under 14.1, Reflow will install, but, the Reflow-PS plugin does not.
3. If you install Reflow with version 14.1 of Photoshop (or higher), Reflow will install along with the Reflow-PS plugin that works with generator. The Reflow plugin will be located in the "Plug-ins/Generator" folder of your Photoshop installation.

I had to disconnect Mozilla because it accessed over 1500 sites that I deleted; how can i install without this same problem?

I had to remove all Mozilla programs because each time I would access Mozilla, over 1500 sites would open and slow down my computer and I deleted these sites or thought I had deleted them but for some reason Mozilla would access them and open them creating a huge problem with shutting down Mozilla. I was enjoying Mozilla again till this recurring problem. Can someone provide guidance as to how I can resolve this matter and reinstall Mozilla without having 1500 sites open at once?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Oim 11g can not install connector

i have installed oim 11G.
trying to install the dbum connector,
according to the manual, I have copied all the installation files and directories to OIM_HOME/server/ConnectorDefaultDirectory
but when I press the install connector on the oim admin console, the window opens ...but i can not see any connector in the LOV ,
meaning i can not install the connector, even tried bouncing the WL and OIM , not much help.
does any of you know of some error alike? / solution ?
(with v9 of oim I did nit have any problem with the same) .

Outlook connector problem with Calendar server

Outlook Connector very slow on some machines

Hi,
I have installed outlook connector on 3 machines, and it's really slow on 2 of them. Identical hardware, identical Outlook version. Installed all updates from Microsoft...
Simple test:
Start outlook, wait a bit (so it's done loading and stuff), click on a shared folder with 50 mails.
On the fast one, this is practically instant, with the folder-contents showing up at once.
On the slow ones, this takes about 7 seconds from click to the folder-contents showing up. Also, it shows the "Synchronizing folder"-dialog (just shows the dialog for a couple seconds, then it vanishes and the folder-contents show up. No progress bar movement)

If we set up outlook with an imap account instead of the connector on the slow machine, it's just as fast as the fast machine...

I can't seem to get any IMAP telemetry logs from outlook connector....
I wasn't quite sure what was meant when the docs say create a directory imap/<userid>. What is the userid? So I tried some variations. This is for user in the default domain. Tried jdoe, [email protected] and an alias address (it was the mail-value in ldap). Nothing appeared when using the outlook connector, but when I added the account as an imap account in outlook, logs appeared in the jdoe-directory... Doesn't the outlook connector use imap???
Yes it does. Telemetry logs are only created for new connections after the telemetry directory for the user has been created. So you would need to restart Outlook to get the log files.
(btw: imap idle doesn't seem to work when using outlook connector, but works when using imap account...?)It definitely appears Outlook Connector does not make use of IMAP IDLE. A quick search didn't reveal any existing enhancement requests to have this functionality added.
