Can't ... install ... program ...

i was working on video project, and needed after effects
so when I went to install it I got this error
"after effects error: sfntread library"
some info on adobe site said something about
changing the value in file "AfterFX8.ini" from 0 to 1
that didn't do anything
did a google search, said something about an error being created with adobes fonts
(or something like that)
and that I should just reinstall it
it used to be just after effects, now cs3 wont work at all
it says that its installing, that its installed
and it just stays like that, it doesn't proceed from there for hours
tried to cancel installation, thought I could finish/restart installation later. programs seemed to be here, but when I try to run em, says the license is screwed up and I need to reinstall it

The iPhone does not allow third-party apps to be installed currently. Also, it depends on the "program" you're talking about.. if it's some Windows app, then of course it won't work. Software applications have to be compiled to run on the operating system of the device.

Can't install program for printer

I'm trying to install a program to run my Printer: model - HP Deskjet 1050 j410 series.My Laptop model number is: HP 255 g3 notebook. Operating system is Windows 10. Can i go around this somehow or do i have to buy new printer that supports new opperating systems?

Sometimes (but rarely) you can get around this sort of problem by running the setup program in compatibility mode.I'm not quite sure how you do this on Windows 10 (I won't touch it) and even if you succeeded in installing the printer drivers, there is no guarantee that they will work properly. Given that Windows 10 seems to be abound with driver problems, I would find a more compatible printer that works with Windows 10 or ditch Windows 10 and go back to Windows 8 or 7.

Windows on internal SSD Bootcamp but can't install programs on internal HDD?

I have a Macbook Pro with an interal SSD and internal HDD. The Mac OS is installed on the SSD and Windows is on a bootcamp partition on the SSD but I can't seem to write anything to the HDD when I'm in Windows. What can I do to get around this?
I only use the HDD to store important files such as music, pictures, documents and other miscellaneous files as backup in the case my SSD fails but I also wish to install Windows progams onto it because I only really need the SSD for the OS and programs that continually fetch data.
While I'm here, is it possible for me to install Mac OS apps/programs on the HDD? And is it possible for me to do it simultaneously with the Windows programs (perhaps in a different directory)?

Use ext FAT. Both can read and write to it.
Or... you can try a product like these, but I have no experience on whether they're any good or not.

When using as External Hard Drive: can I install programs?

Is it possible to install a program to the iPod when it's being used an external hard drive? I just thought of this, because I was wondering if it would help me conserve disk space. So long as I kept it connected to the computer, would the program still work?

Possibly, but will reduce space usable for media playable by iPod. If it will be for use as external hard drive exclusively there shouldn't be an issue. You could get higher capacity discs in external enclosures for about the same size though.

After upgrading to Mavericks, can't install programs from discs

I am unable to install photoshop elements 12. I've upgraded to Mavericks, and this is the first disc I've tried to install. The dvd drive does read regular dvds, but spins, then ejects the install disc. I've reset the PRAM and puffed air in the drive slot. The disc is just out of the box, no scratches. I tried to install Premier Elements too, but same spin, then ejection. Do I need to change some setting somewhere or has the dvd drive developed an issue.

You can start by doing some basic resets such as a iMac SMC and PRAM reset, you may need to do the SMC reset 2-3 times. Also you can restart in Safe Mode to clear some caches. If you continue to have problems post back and there are other things to try such as cleaning the SuperDrive or using an external DVD drive.

How can I install applications on my palm treo 600 using memory card and a reader???

I tried so many times installing applications such as games and other software on my treo 600, but nothing shows in the launcher. I don't have a hotsynch tahts why this is my only option. I can see theapplications I download from my laptop to my treo 600.
When I download using a pc, it is in zip file, then I extract it. Latly, copy paste to my memory card. Is there something wrong about it? Please help... I don't have any application on my treo 600. Its been a week exploring, but still don't get the answer.

HotSync is a program, not something to be purchased on eBay!
It is part of a free program from Palm called "Palm Desktop". Go to the pages Hook directed you to, download and install the program.
You can then install programs to your Palm correctly! You will not need the CD.
You will need a program called Documents To Go to easily use Microsoft Word and Excel files. This will have to be purchased from Dataviz.com. Be sure to look for a version that is compatible with your device.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Many programs and games should work on the Time Capsule. There might be some that wouldn't work because they need to be installed on the startup drive (though I can't think of any right now).
However, I don't recommend it, because the Time Capsule, being connected via a network connection, isn't going to be as fast as your local hard drive. Games in particular might be too slow on the Time Capsule, as they load their graphics or sounds.
A better use for the Time Capsule is as a place to store files you want easily available, but don't work with all the time, like recently finished projects. Or, if you were a graphic designer, you could put clip art or elements like company logos on the Time Capsule.

Cant install programs from web

i recently install stuffit expander to open an application, once i had done this i then deleted stuffit expander and since cannot install downloaded applications and programs.
it usually comes up with please select an application to use to open the program, when all i want to do is install it. im thinking i have deleted something important when i deleted stuffit, how can i install programs again?
i have tried allowing disk permissions in the start up, but to no avail, it is has not helped me to install programs again.

Redownload Stuffit Expander & keep it. Repair permissions & restart after the installation.
Go to Stuffit's Preferences & select all the suffixes that you want Stuffit to open.
The next time you get the +"please select an application to use to open the program"+ message, select Stuffit Expander.
Some programs are stuffed downloads & need to be unstuffed before you can install.

Hi. I was wondering how many computers I can install a purchased version of Photoshop onto (or other Adobe products)? Can I install one copy onto two systems I own, eg: my desktop and laptop? I would like to say that being able to add software onto 2 systems, especially software for productivity and fun, is highly important. This is something Adobe needs to keep doing and a lot of other companies too. Plus it is something some companies need to look into if they can set up the system right. This is one reason I am planning on buying one companies software for music production over the other (which also requires the usb key/lock or company #2's product doesn't work). It is a good selling point for someone like me with a desktop and laptop, cost is a factor with double programs.
