Can't install/run OMWB 1.2.2

I go thru the installation process but at the end I get:
"Net8 Configuration Assistant failed
Class not found:Workbench"
I assume this is a java thing and necessary for OMWB to run. If
I try to run OMWB I get a blank DOS session.
I'm on an NT 4.0 machine and all of my other Oracle client
programs (like SqlPlus, etc) run fine.
Has anyone ever seen OMWB work?

OK, thanks Turlock, that helped.
Now I can startup Omwb, but it now wants Sybase ODBC info. Our
Sybase users (and I) do not use ODBC to access Sybase (which is
on
a Unix box). We use Open-client.
Can Omwb be told to NOT use ODBC, but use open-client instead?

Ron,
If you have not got the installer to run through:
Try clicking on the setup.exe instead of using your already
installed installer.
If you got as far as getting the workbench installed:
It could be that the line in omwb.bat is now too long,
make a backup copy and remove the informix and db2 references.
ie the references to the plugin directory are only sqlserver6.5
and sybase ie:
XXXXX\Omwb\plugins\SQLServer6.jar;XXXXX\Omwb\plugins\Sybase.jar;

beyond that I am a bit stumped unless your download was corrupt
[but then it would not unzip ....]
It sounds like it is something simple, but then every problem is simple
once you find the solution ..

Hello, Turloch, thanks for replying. I haven't gotten very far with the
workbench installation because, presumably, a java class is missing:
'Workbench'. So I never get as far as a login screen.
I'm thinking that the installer either can't find Workbench.class in
products.jar or the class might be missing from this version.

I assure you that people have seen the omwb work, but without
further
details,
it is hard to see what is going wrong in your case.
note that dba access to an oracle database (8.0.5 or 8.1.5) is required
after
you reach the login screen.

    can i install/run oracle 8i in windows xp ?

    yes u can install ora 8i in win xp pro
    Windows XP Home Edition
    Oracle 8i is not certified on windows XP. Even if yes, it must be Windows XP Professional.
    You can install Oracle8i on windows XP Home Edition, try like this:
    1 - Copy your Oracle CD into hard disk in your
    machine. For example Copy from oracle8i CD into C:\Oracle\ ...
    2 - Search the two files named Symcjit.dll on the D drive (where you have copied Oracle8i. You can found them in (example):
    C:\Oracle\stage\Components\oracle.swd.jre\1.1.7.30\1
    \DataFiles\Expanded\jre\win32\bin\symcjit.dll
    3 - Rename this file (Example): symcjit_back.dll (make sure to find two files and rename them)
    4 - Execute the Oracle setup.exe from C:\Oracle\setup.exe
    =================================================================
    When Oracle 8i dies on the install or the installer hangs, here is the fix for this, make sure that you have Service Pack 2 installed.
    1. \JRE\1.3.1\ From Sun. (You can download java program at http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.1/jre/download-jre-windows.html)
    2. Install the java file.
    There is also a problem in the installation disk.
    3. Make a copy of the Oracle 8i disk on the local hard disk.
    4. Do a search for the two files called symcjit.dll and rename them for example: symcjit.old.
    5. Install Oracle from the win32 directory.

    How can I install/run flash 11.5 on my intel imac running os x 10.4.11?

  • Can I install/run FCP 7 and/or adobe CS4/5/6 on apple mac mini MD388HN-A as it has INtel HD 4000 Graphics?

    Can I install/run FCP 7 and/or adobe CS4/5/6 on apple mac mini MD388HN-A as it has INtel HD 4000 Graphics?

    If you want to run Adobe apps, make sure you have the maximum RAM and plenty of available hard disk space. Given the typical internal drive sizes of the Mini, this would mean investing in one or two large external drives. Photoshop and InDesign only work well if there is a very large chunk of space available as a scratch disk. Some recommend dedicating a drive just for scratch space, if you are working with large, complex Photoshop files or large InDesign projects.

  • Can't install run-time engine on Ubuntu 8.04. Get /bin/sh failed to load.

    Simply receive a message when trying to install the LabView run-time engine .rpm file that says /bin/sh failed to load (or is required, I forget exactly).  I checked, I have BASH installed, and /bin/sh is a shortcut to an executable on my machine.  Is this a bug in the installer, or is there something else I need?

    LabVIEW installation is not supported on Debian based Linux systems (of which Ubuntu is the most popular).  However, many people have had success installing to various flavors of Ubuntu.  You can search these forums using the key Ubuntu and find the problems they had and how they solved them.  If you cannot find an answer to your problem, let us know.

  • Friends how can i install/run this to my phone?

    i want to add wifi access point to my phone this is c++
    what do i have to download!!! i see this to nokia developer site.. please help me!!!
    Overview
    Creating, deleting, editing, and listing WLAN access points
    Description
    Sometimes S60 3rd-party applications may want to provide the functionality for managing access points through their UI. It is possible for applications to programmatically create, edit, and delete access points.
    To create, delete, edit, and list WLAN APs, the following headers/libraries are used:
    #include <commdb.h> // link against commdb.lib
    #include <apselect.h> // link against apengine.lib
    #include <aplistitem.h>
    #include <apdatahandler.h>
    #include <apaccesspointitem.h>
    #include <aputils.h>
    A short example for each type of operation:
    Creating an access point:
    CApAccessPointItem *wlan = CApAccessPointItem::NewLC();
    wlan->SetNamesL(_L("NewAP"));
    wlan->SetBearerTypeL(EApBearerTypeWLAN);
    wlan->WriteTextL(EApWlanNetworkName, _L("WlanAP"));
    // Store it into the CommsDb
    CCommsDatabase *commDb = CCommsDatabase::NewL();
    CleanupStack:ushL(db);
    CApDataHandler *handler = CApDataHandler::NewLC(*commDb);
    TUint32 newApId = handler->CreateFromDataL(*wlan);
    CleanupStack:opAndDestroy(3); // handler, commDb, wlan
    Removing an access point:
    handler->RemoveAPL(myUid); // myUid: ID of an AP to remove
    Editing an access point:
    handler->AccessPointDataL(myUid, *wlan);
    // myUid: ID of an AP to edit
    TInt err;
    err = wlan->WriteTextL(EApWlanNetworkName, _L("NewName"));
    // EApWlanNetworkName is the column to edit.
    // Other columns are listed in ApAccessPointItem.h
    TBool nameChanged;
    handler->UpdateAccessPointDataL(*iaccessPoint, nameChanged);
    Getting the UID of the access points:
    The UIDs of access points can be retrieved as follows:
    CCommsDatabase* commDb =
    CCommsDatabase::NewL(EDatabaseTypeIAP);
    CleanupStack:ushL(commDb);
    CApSelect* select = CApSelect::NewLC(
    *commDb,
    KEApIspTypeAll,
    EApBearerTypeWLAN, // use EApBearerTypeAll for all types
    KEApSortUidAscending);
    TBuf<256> accessPoints;
    _LIT(KAPInfoTxtFormat, "[%d]%S ");
    TBool ok = select->MoveToFirst();
    for(TInt i = 0; ok && (i < select->Count()); i++)
    accessPoints.AppendFormat(
    KAPInfoTxtFormat,
    select->Uid(),
    &select->Name());
    ok = select->MoveNext();
    CleanupStack:opAndDestroy(2); // select, commDb
    // accessPoints descriptor now contains WLAN AP IDs + names

    You're best off discussing this on the developer forums, instead of here:
    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Discussion/
    In simple terms:
    1. You need to install a suitable SDK (Software Development Kit) and other required tools on your PC
    2. Then you need to complete the application (the fragment you posted is just partial code for a specific thing).
    3. Then you need to compile the application and create an installation package.
    4. Then you install it on your phone (assuming your phone is compatible in the first place).
    On the Nokia Developer site you can find various "Getting Started" documents, etc.
    Of course, if you just need to add WiFi access point settings to your phone, you can do it without installing any programs, if the phone already supports WiFi. Just do it via the Settings app on the phone.
    If your phone does not support WiFi at all (you have not stated which phone model you have), then there is no amount of code/applications that will make it happen (you can't add hardware features through new software).

    If you mean can you design ADF applications with Eclipse then yes, you can do that with Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse. It isn't as full-featured as the JDeveloper experience, though.

  • I can't install on uninstall iTunes on my laptop; running Windows XP.  I've tried all the steps in Apple Support as well as Windows support.  Can anyone help?  I fet the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

    I can't install or uninstall iTunes on my laptop.  I've followed all the steps on Apple Support as well as Microsoft support.  I get the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Pick an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi".  This has been going on for a couple of weeks now and I'm very frustrated.  From what I can see, I'm not the only one with this problem, but I have yet to see anyone post a solution that works.  Microsoft wants to charge me $99 to troubleshoot it for me and Apple will charge $20.  I think both are ridiculous as this is obviously not "operator error".

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Generally YES.
    It's possible to hold separate iTunes library's on a single machine.
    Generate two new folders inside the Music folder of the Mini and name them differently; e.g. man and woman.
    Copy your whole library into "man" and your wifes into "woman"
    Go to sharing in the system settings of the Mini and share the Music folder in your network.
    After copying the whole library's to the Mini you may point iTunes to the new location at startup by holding the option key (alt) at the keyboard.
    iTunes will then ask you where the library is located.
    Point it to the matching library on the Mini.
    That's all.
    Lupunus
    PS ... If you both use only the Mini you have to setup a user account for each and just copy the whole library to the Music folder in particular.

    Hey Nathan,
    I know it can be a bit frustrating to try to get a version of an application that will work on an older iOS version. This article explains how to do it -
    Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    I had previously purchased the programs "Pages" and "Numbers" and they are on my iPhone and iPad I was told that the programs would automatically copy a version of itself for the iMac to be running them but I don't see it installed. How can I install for free?  I see that I could go to the apple store and purchase them again but I belibve that since I had already purchased them; I would get a free copy for my Imac.  Do I got something confused here?  Please help.

    Whoever told you that was misinformed or lying. Those applications are sold separately for the iOS platform and the Mac platform.
    Go to the Mac App Store to purchase Pages and Numbers for your Mac. They're $20 each. If you are running an older version of Mac OS X that can't use the Mac App Store, you can purchase install media from Apple.
