Can't install update, says I don't have permissions for some items

I've been using Firefox on this computer for some time, presently v. 3.6.8. I have downladed 3.6.10, but when I try to drag it to the applications folder, it says I do not have permissions to copy some items.

* Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.
* Install the new version that you have downloaded.

  • I can't install. Says I don't have permissions to certain items. It won't update from 4 to 5. I can open 5 from my desktop but it won't update the older version with all the bookmarks.

What else do you want. I drop it in Apllications and it won't update. Say I don't have permission (on my own damn vcompouter) what's with that?

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

  • I can't replace an old version of Firefox with a new one that I just downloaded. It says I don't have permissions to do so, and the old version can't trashed.

I've downloaded the new version, and when I go to drag the Firefox icon into the Applications folder, I'm prompted to replace the old version. When I do, it says, "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to modify 'Firefox'." I've looked everywhere, and every help forum says to just drag Firefox into the Trash. I've tried that, and it says that Firefox can't be trashed. I don't know if this means anything or not, but there is a small lock in the bottom left of the Firefox icon in my dock.

Try to drag the current Firefox application to the trash if you can't replace it.

  • I have 25 G.B. but I can't download it says I don't have enough room and that I have to get rid of other stuff.

I have and bought 25G.B. on my iPad but when I want to download something it says I don't have enough room what gives??

As it happens, Apple does make a device to reading SD cards on an iPad, but its use is limited to copying photos and movies from camera memory cards. It is bundled with a similarly limited USB adapter; the two together are marketed as the Camera Connection Kit.
There are also third-party devices that store music, videos, and the like loaded from a Mac or PC and provide a small wifi network to which an iPad can connect to access the contents.

  • When I updated says I don't have enough

I'm trying to update to the ISO seven. It says I don't have enough memory that I do. What do I do now?

  • Can't download movie, says I don't have enough storage.

Can't download movie, says I do not have enough storage. I just purchased 55gb's.

Do you know how many GBs or MBs it is?
But if it doesn't work, try deleting some photos or apps to free up more space. It might be bigger than you expect

  • Firefox 4 for MAC would not upgrade-says I don't have permissions. Now I don't have Firefox on my MAC

I was asked to download the latest version of Firefox. I did so and when I went to install it, I got the error message that implied I didn't have authorization to run some of the features. The upgrade stopped and now Firefox will not run because it says it is locked. I am running Firefox on the PC side of my MAC to ask for the fix. (I'm running Parallels.) I have one of the original Intel MAC laptops. Please give me the link to an older version so I can restore Firefox.
