Can't install Update/Version Cue

When I try and update using the Adobe updater for Photoshop CS3, I get a message that "Adobe Version Cue Client 3.1.0 update failed to install because the update cannot be applied to the product. Please re-install the product and try again." Did that. Still won't install. Downloaded and installed FixVCUIFramework. Still won't install. Tried adding a new user, installing Photoshop. Still won't install.
I'm using Photoshop CS3 10.0.1 on a Mac iBook G4, OS 10.4.11. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Which update are you talking about? Do you have 10.6.8 now and want to upgrade to a newer version of OS X? Can you explain your issue in more detail, please?

I need to update my Mac version 10.4.11  can I instal the version OS X Lion Update 10.7.2 as an update

If your iMac has a PowerPC processor, you can upgrade to OS 10.5 Leopard, which is the max OS.
If your iMac has an Intel processor, you can upgrade to OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, and possibly OS 10.7 Lion.
You have to buy OS upgrades. Updates to later versions are free from Apple's site.

  • After updating, can I install older version on my second computer?

Updated to Elements 12.  Can I install older version 9 to a second computer so that two projects can be worked on at the same time?

    Yes.
All Adobe software can be installed and activated on a maximum of two computers. That means you can also install PSE12 on the second computer, provided the second computer meets the technical requirements to run PSE12
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/tech-specs.html
PS no need to install PSE9 on a new computer first. Just install PSE12, enter the PSE12 upgrade serial number then enter the PSE9 serial number when prompted.

    Hello Ebelhaj,
I want to recommend this article for you.
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1926
It has some general troubleshooting for being unable to install iTunes and some additional troubleshooting, here is an over view of the troubleshooting to be done:
    General installation troubleshooting
    1. Empty your Temp directory and restart
    2. Completely remove iTunes and related components
    3. Install the latest version of iTunes
    Additional troubleshooting
After performing each of the steps below, you will need to completely remove iTunes and related components and then install iTunes again to determine whether the issue is resolved.
    1. Make sure you have administrator account access
    2. Make sure your folder names don't contain strange characters
    3. Get the latest Windows updates
    4. Disable other conflicting software
Each blue link has its own troubleshooting step.
    Cheers,

  • Can't install latest version of itunes. "Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified." Help?

Can't install latest version of itunes. "Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified." Help?

I had this, and after a large number of fruitless attempts, I had to reload Windows, which solved it. This was of course a real pain, but I had to do it since updating iTunes was necessary in order to get the new iOS version. But before doing such a drastic thing, you could try to restore Windows to a previous point in time by picking a restore point. This of course presumes that you really have some issues with your Windows (which I had) and that you can make a decent guess on when the system was ok (which I couldn't), i.e that you can decide a good date to restore to.

  • Can't install any version of Safari for my Dad

I'm visiting my dad, and trying to get Safari installed for him. Somehow he managed to trash it - we're not sure how. Now I can't install any version of Safari. 1.x is too old. He's running OSX10.4.10 so 2.0.1 doesn't work either. I really don't even want to put 3 on here - he's a very basic user and doesn't need beta headaches.
The only disks we have are the system disks ... do I have to reinstall an old version of system to get Safari working for him?

    Hi
Have a look at this Apple article for installing other software, including Safari, from the Tiger DVD - see the section titled More custom reinstallation options with Mac OS X 10.4.
Steps to take in addition to the Apple article:
Move the Safari.pkg file in the HD>Library>Receipts folder to the trash.
As a precaution, prior to reinstalling Safari, move the Safari Folder, found in the User Library to the Desktop. It has the personal bookmarks, history etc. Once the reinstall is completed, move the folder back to its original location writing over the newly created folder.
Remember too, the version of Safari you install will be specific to the Version on the installer DVD. Therefore, either run Software Update and see if Safari updates appear. If not, reapply the 10.4.10 combined update to bring Safari up to the current version.
Repair permissions via Disk Utility in your Utilities folder when you are finished.

If this is on your computer's iTunes then log out via the Store > Sign Out menu option and then log back in with the updated version of your account. If on an iOS device then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and log out and then log back in.

  • I can't install updates to apps installed via a CD

My iMovie and iPhoto was originally installed via a CD, and for the last few months I keep getting requests to install updated versions. But the installation never works because the originals didn't come from the App Store, yet there's no way to refuse these updates. It's been really tiresome to keep getting asked to update these apps. Do I have to uninstall the apps from my Mac to get these update requests to stop?

Depends upon the versions your have. You can upgrade from immediately prior versions, otherwise, you must purchase the upgrades. Plus in order to be eligible for a free upgrade, if any, you must have installed Mavericks.
The iWork apps are free with a new iOS device since 1 SEP 2013. They are free with a new Mac since 1 OCT 2013. They are also free with the upgrade to OS X Mavericks 10.9 if you had the previous version installed when you upgraded.
iWork and iLife for Mac come free with every new Mac purchase. Existing users running Mavericks can update their apps for free from the Mac App Store℠. iWork and iLife for iOS are available for free from the App Store℠ for any new device running iOS 7, and are also available as free updates for existing users. GarageBand for Mac and iOS are free for all OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 users. Additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available for a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 for each platform.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.
Install the new version that you have downloaded.

  • I can not install updates for Adobe 9 Pro

I can not install updates for Adobe 9 Pro

When you can not install the updates from the Help menu, go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (similar for MAC) and install the updates in order. It is a good idea to download from the most recent back in case there are any you can skip (each updates indicates the prior version required). You generally need to reboot only after the last update.

  • I can't install last version iOS and can't restore my iphone

When I tried to install iOS 5.1.1, my iPhone crushed. Now I can't install last version iOS and I can't restore, because iTunes asks the last version iOS in order to restore .. Does anyone know how I can restore ?

Did you buy this phone new from an authorized Apple dealer? The only reference I can find for that error message is for a previously jailbroken iPhone.
    Regardless, you can try this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Update: I see Mende already suggested that. You next step would be to get the iPhone serviced.

    hi
I had the same problem (update failed for normal user, update worked for administrator, but then normal user still got asked about installing the update even though it was already done).
Following the advice on http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_update#Software_Update_not_working_properly worked for me, in particular to remove the update-related xml files.
    good luck
