Can't install upgrade

After downloading 1.01 installer says I can't install because it's not needed. But my version is 1.0
Also, upgrade does not appear in software update.
Should I reinstall?

make sure you didn't move the program or install it in a location other then your application folder (where the program wants to install)
things work better that way

  • Can't install upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat XI Pro

I have Acrobat XI Standard installed on a new Dell Windows 7 PC. I just purchased an upgrade to Acobat XI Pro. I paid $199 and successfully downloaded the installation file from www.adobe.com.
When I try to install the package, the installation proceeds through a few standard screens (e.g., the Welcome screen), and then I receive a setup error:
"Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate."
Clearly, Acrobat XI Standard is not a more functional product than Acrobat XI Pro. How do I get around this error so that I can install the upgrade?

    Hey habilock,
The reason why you are getting this error is that you are attempting to install Acrobat XI pro over XI standard, but you cannot install the same version of Pro over Standard.
If they are different versions (like Acrobat Pro XI over Acrobat X), then it would work.
You can also check the following link that clearly specifies that there is no such upgrade option of Acrobat XI over Standard:
Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
For more details on the same, you can refer another forum link discussing the same issue:
setup has detected you already have a more functional product installed....
    Hope that helps.

  • Upgrade Gurus- CS 5 volume license, CS 5.5 retail upgrade can't install, upgrading to CS 6?

    Hi,
I have run into a very interesting problem at work and need confirmation about some information I received.  We have six computers with various versions of Creative Suite 5 (Design Standard, Master Collection, etc.) installed on these computers.  These are all volume licensed projects.  A few years ago we puchased Creative Suite 5.5 upgrades.  These upgrades are retail licenses.  We have recently purchased new computers and tried to install Creative Suite 5.5 on them.  However, Adobe is telling us that because Creative Suite 5 was a volume license and the Creative Suite 5.5 upgrade was a retail license, we could only perform this upgrade once.  This means only our old computers can have CS 5.5 installed and our new computers are stuck with CS 5.  Which is just wrong.  However, we are sick of wasting time with Adobe and are willing to upgrade our new computers to CS 6 (and get rid of the old computers).  So here is the question- can we purchase CS 5.5 to CS 6 upgrades (retail license of course) and just use the CS 5.5 serial numbers when we upgrade our CS 5 computers to CS 6?
Cliff Notes:  Do I need CS 5.5 installed in order to use a CS 5.5 to CS 6 upgrade or do I just need the CS 5.5 serial numbers?

I have the same issue. Cleaner tool does not hetl, at least in my case. Do you mean that the whole CS5.5 Master Collection should be uninstalled? I have tried everything else:
I tried to uninstall, but Flash Builder was not listed among the programs, maybe I have uninstalled it earlier or it is inclkuded in CS5.5
I deleted all Flash Builder related files, no help
Then I deleted all Flash Builder related registry entries, no success
Finally I downloaded the cleaner tool, its action options do not include anything Flash Builder Releted.
I simply can't get rid of the conflicting version

  • CS3 to CS5 - can't install upgrade

I'm trying to install my PS CS5  Extended upgrade on my desktop running Vista. I now have CS3 Extended on  the machine and activated. When I try to install the CS5 upgrade, I  first get a message that no qualifying product is found on my machine.  As prompted, I then enter my serial number (for CS3), but then I'm told  that the serial number isn't for a qualifying program. I copied the  serial number directly from my Adobe list of registrations and pasted it  in, so I know I've entered my CS3 serial number correctly.
Here's more  info: When I'm prompted for the qualifying product serial number, I  choose "CS3" since there is no entry for "CS3 Extended".
    Thanks for  your help!

This may be a red flag that CS3 or CS5 may not be the extended version, so you have a mismatch.
As I understand it the s/n determines whether it is installed as a regular or extended version.

  • HT6030 Unstable Mail in Mavericks 10.9.1 and can't install upgrade

I just upgraded to Mavericks. I'm in 10.9.1. I am having issues with Mail. It sounds like the Mail Upgrade for Mavericks would fix them. I tried to download it but read that I don't meet the system requirements. Is it because I'm in 10.9.1? What can I do? Thanks for any help or simialr experiences.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
    Envelope Index
    ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK. Warning: The process may take hours if you have gigantic mailboxes. For reasonable-sized mailboxes, it should only take a few minutes.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the files you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

I need to install Filemker for work, but it tells me I need at least Mac OS 10.6.0 (snow leopard), and I have 10.5.8 (leopard). Can I buy and install the snow leopard system? My MacBook is from 2008.

Yes. All Intel Macs which have at least 1GB of RAM and shipped with Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier can run Snow Leopard.

  • Can't install/upgrade Flash Player

Installed Safari 3 Public Beta. Strange Flash player behavior. Tried upgrading, didn't work. Tried uninstall. Now Flash Player will not install, not even with manual install.
    Any ideas?

For whatever reason, my permissions were no longer correct after installing 10.4.10 and Safari 3. Used Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then successfully re-installed Flash Player.

  • Can;t install upgrade to FC Express HD

I installed FC Express HD. When i ran it it said that this version needed a AGP graphic card. I then went to the Apple site to download the update. After download, tied to installed and got a message saying this software does not need to be updated. So basically, FC Express HD is not useable at the time.
I am using a New Intel iMac. Does that make a difference?

    YES! It does Stephen.
When you get the AGP message hit the "esc" key and FCE should open.
However, be warned that FCE is not really suitable for the new Intel-Macs and will probably work slowly etc.
An improved version designed for the new Macs is expected soon.

  • I want to install Windows 7 in bootcamp on my imac with Lion 10.7, but only have a Windows 7 upgrade disk.  I also have a full Vista.  Can I install in bootcamp using the Windows 7 upgrade disk?  If so, what do I need to know about how?

    Hi,
I want to install Windows 7 on my imac in bootcamp.  I have a windows 7 upgrade disk and a full vista disk.  Normally on a PC I would install Vista, then upgrade to Windows 7.  I see that bootcamp 4 only supports Windows 7.
Can I install the Windows 7 upgrade disk without first installing Vista?  Will this work in bootcamp?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Install 7. Don't bother with applying drivers and such, just reboot again from DVD and install again, it will see the existing system and this time activation will be possible.
Vista is mess, takes longer etc. Hope you have SP1 version of 7. And for Vista, only SP2+ are even supported now, by MS.
