Can't install11.0.2 - side-by-side configuration error

I have no idea how to get iTunes on my laptop. I tried updating and ran into a snag. Pleas help!!
I uninstalled completely all Apple products as recommended. Then when I tried to reinstall, I got the following error message.
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log.
Here's the first lines of the Application Event Log. I thought this might be all that's relevant.

Go through the Doc id 1067138.1 at Metalink below is the extract.
The following procedure must be done by a UNIX administrator or by an Oracle BI Administrator with sufficient privileges.
To download Oracle BI installation files under UNIX:
   1. Log in as the user who is to run the Oracle BI processes.
   2. Insert the Oracle Business Intelligence infrastructure installation DVD.
   3. Change to the directory where the installation DVD is mounted (or change directory to the downloaded software).
   4. Download the Oracle BI files by using FTP to copy them to the desired server and directory.
      Note: Make sure to FTP all the files in binary mode, including license.xml.
   5. After the files are downloaded, check that the files in the top level directory, such as setup.sh, have execute permissions.
      execute the command: ls -la or ls -ltr
      Confirm that the files have permissions resembling these:

Illustrator CS6 "side-by-side configuration error"

Hi,
When I try to run Illustrator, it would give me an error message that says " C:\Program Files\ Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS6 (64 Bit)\Support Files\Contents\ Windows\Illustrator.exe The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." I am unable to get on Illustrator and deactivate my license so I can reinstall the software. I'm currently using a Windows 7 64-Bit laptop. Thank you so much

What you could try is remotely debugging the executable, so you can use highlight execution and see what is going on, because error 59 is a network error.
if you aren't familiar with how to create a .exe that can be debugged, here is a tutorial

You could also see if there is a different acquire input data vi that still does what you want, and see if the error still occurs.

Side by Side Configuration ERROR - PLEASE HELP

I have Lightroom 3.0 installed on my external hard drive which I access always on the same USB port on my laptop. After 30 hours of editing I unplugged the device thinking it was safe. My laptop got hit by a virus that just messed my entire laptop up causing me to take it to best buy where they supposedly wiped my laptop and then reloaded it with a new OS. One that looks totally different to me but I did not think this was going to affect my L3 on my external harddrive. I plugged in my device to the laptop and get hit with this error when I click on it:
e:\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom3/lightroom.exe
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

Hi,
I'm not sure what the problem is, but I can give you some basic suggestions about what you could do.
First of all, check if there are more detailed error messages available in the defaultTrace.trc file. You can open the file using LogViewer service in Visual Administrator.
Also, check the settings for Database URL, and make sure you have set the SQL Engine option in the Additional tab to "Native SQL".

Just d/l the CS5 and when i try to open it i get a "the app. has failed to start because its side-by-side config. is incorrect.Pls see app.event log for details."and the event log says "place holder file to trigger check for conflicting process.I haven't a clue so i could use your help.

I keep getting the side by side error... I tried installing the patches, and service packs i reinstalled sql server 2008 r2 like 10 times. It won't go away. I tried the registry edit a few people say works. This has been killing me for a week now,
I cannot run my sql server on my machine its crazy..???

According to your description, we need to verify if you install
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) and
correct the manifest file. The manifest file is readable (although empty), but we cannot edit it (even if you are an administrator). Only SYSTEM has access to the file. So to be able to edit it, you must first take ownership of
it and grant ACLs. After saving the file, then run the setup again.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that yesterday, it din't work and actually caused the same error for my other Adobe software (eg Flash, Illustrator, etc.) I had to do a system restore to get things back working. All my other programs are fine except for Premier Pro.

Have you tried different headphones in your iPad mini?
Check in Settings > General > Accessibility if little slider half way down isn't moved to either side towards "L" or "R".
If it isn't , try to reboot the device, but it's likely that your audio port isn't working correctly. If so, it should definitely be covered by warranty.

Your phrasing is not clear. How do you reboot into Mac OS? /can you describe the process step by step?
Usually, you should do like this:
- while in win, restart
- immediately after chime, press option or alt key
- wait for 2-3 seconds, you should see the boot options
- select Mac OS partition
If you have performed all these steps, and, after choosing Mac OS partition, you cannot boot into Mac OS, then your system is corrupt and should be reinstalled.

Where can you compare 2 photos side by side in Full Screen in Elements 11? Version 9 has this feature under Display View.

In the Organizer select two thumbnails and hit the F12 key to compare them. But I guess you mean in the Editor application. In Expert Mode it‘s possible to work with floating windows rather than fixed tabs but you first need to set your preferences. Go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> General (Windows)
Photoshop Elements Editor >> Preferences >> General (Mac)
Then put a checkmark in the box against “Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode”
Click OK
You can now open your two images and use the layout button at the bottom to choose various configurations or to cascade.

Can't hear the other side

Hello, A user has problem with Skype. She can't hear the other side anymore. It has always worked and now it doesn't work anymore. Reinstalled skype latest version and installed latest audio driver. Still no audio. We can hear the startup sound of Skype but when I do an echo test we can't hear anything. If I look at the audio mixer I see that there is audio with the audio bar but hear nothing. Windows audio is working normaly. Is this a known issue? John
