Can't interact with any open windows, can't interact with flash content

I've already tried reinstalling, resetting and deleting my profile, nothing's changed.
I can't close any Firefox window by pressing "x", or by pressing Alt+F4, I can only close it through the task manager or task bar. Minimising or going into windowed mode is also impossible.
If a new window opens itself (e.g. A download) I can't interact with it at all - It's visible on top of the main window, but nothing I do affects it.
I also can't interact with flash content (like pausing a youtube video)
There is absolutely no feedback when I try. The icon doesn't change.
I recently reset firefox, there are no add-ons, themes etc. installed, the problem persists.
I am running Windows 7 64bit, everything else (including other browsers) appears to be working fine and a virus scan (Avast! free version) turned up nothing.
I'd really appreciate any help!

Forcing Mail to open without any open windows

Mail's crashing on me, and I think it's because of a certain RSS entry I opened. When I try restarting Mail, it shows the Inbox window and that RSS entry's window right before crashing again. The problem is that Mail remembers what windows it had open before it quit--even if it quit unexpectedly.
Is there a way to open Mail without it remembering what windows it had open during its previous session? Like, some sort of command-line option, or something...

Thanks for replying too...but the problem is, Mail always crashes immediately when I relaunch it, before I can do anything like open the preferences.
I guess I've explained myself poorly. Mail crashed on me while it was idly running with three opened windows: the inbox and two opened RSS feed entries. Now, relaunching Mail always results in the same behavior, all which happens in about a second before it crashes. First, it shows my inbox's window first, then the two RSS feed windows (without their contents inside visible), then the mouse cursor turns into a spinning beach ball. During this time, I can't click anything, and keyboard shortcuts like Cmd+, and Cmd+w don't work. Then Mail quits and a "The application Mail quit unexpectedly" window appears.
I've sent a report of the crash to Apple, but right now, Mail's unusable to me. Is there a way, perhaps, to launch Mail in a safe mode or without any windows...or perhaps manually edit a configuration file? Something to prevent those RSS entry windows to not appear again on Mail's launch.

My Iphone 5S would not sync with any PC (Windows 7). It was working fine until a few days ago! now my phone would not charge nor sync with any PC (I have try personal computer, work, etc) everytime a message will appear and would say "USB device not recognized, the USB device attached to this computer has malfuctioned and windows does not recognized it" I have not make any changes. All I did was install Zedge app in my PC and Iphone and try to download a ringtone from it. Please if someone can help me I would appreciate it.

You are not running as administrator, I think, which may be required and the only way to properly work and register. Also check for compatibility mode settings, UAC and DEP, all of which may require to be adjusted for a legacy app like PS CS2 to run properly. Also turn off Aero and switch to a conventional visual theme. The brush issue may be related to that or is a more generic problem with your graphics card and mouse config, but since you didn't provide any info on that, it will be hard for anyone to advise.

Pat; using Windows you can create a "PDF printer" which is a virtual device that you can select when you want to create an Adobe PDF file from anything you normally would print to hardcopy. As an example if I were on a webpage article that spanned two or three pages so a screen capture wouldn't really work, if I had a "Adobe PDF Printer" I would select that as my default printer and then print the webpage article. Instead of the webpage article going to a real printer and producing hardcopy, the Adobe PDF printer would ask me for a file name and then "print" the file by creating an Adobe PDF file. How can I use Automator to open and save Word docs with links?

I'm having trouble building a Workflow to open and save Word docs with links.
My Workflow so far:
1. Get Finder items
2. Copy Finder items (to new folder)
3. Rename selected items
4. Open selected items (Word docs)
Three problems occur.
The first is a Word 2004 problem -- I can't get the warning "This document has links in it; do you want to open it with/without updating the links" to go away (Unilke the Macro warning toggle capability, there is nothing in the Preferences for Word 2004 that addresses the links warning, as far as I can tell; any insight you can shed on this would be terrific.)
The second problem happens with Automator: if I manually accept the update of the first document's links, Automator opens that document but then halts completely, even though I've instructed it to open multiple documents.
The third problem I have is that there's no Finder action in Automator that allows me to save the document that's now open (as far as I can see).
Any suggestions for how to fix? If I can get this to work, and scheduled in iCal, it will be an unbelievable time saver.

The above script should open each Word Document, press a button in the dialog box then do a save and then close the doc...then loop through the rest of them.
You need to replace the name Text Wrangler with Microsoft Word (or whatever it is called!), I don't have it on my Mac.
You will have to let me know what button needs pressing in the first dialog, if it isn't the 'highlighted ' one then we will have to amend the script...

How can I detect if ANY popup windows are showing

I have implemented a couple of JInternalFrames which can be closed by pressing the escape key, however, inside these frames different parts of the code will sometimes show JPopupMenus and they too should be closable by pressing the escape key.
Thus, I need to close my frames when the user presses escape but only if no popups are showing. For instance, if the user right clicks in my frame to show a popup, then the first time he or she presses escape the popup will close, and the second time the frame itself will close.
What I am looking for is a generic approach to this, that would make it possible for me to detect if any popup windows are currently visible and only if that is not the case I will proceed and close the frame.
I have been giving this some thought but I have not yet come up with a good solution to this. Has anyone implemented something like this or does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a preferred way to get all popups of a frame, dialog, window or the like?

I also ran into this issue. The previous post can be solved easily by the new event structures, but I need to check if a panel is the frontmost in windows as well.
The FP.Is frontmost property returns if a panel is the frontmost Vi within Labview but not if Labview is the frontmost window in windows.
I ran into this as I am making some stuff to use the scollwheel.
As an example I have added two Vi's. Just load & run these, as long as Labview is active this works. But I would like to have something that switches the lights off when I select another Windows application.
I (think I) cannot use the USER32.dll API as I reconstruct a reference to the 'owner vi' using a control reference.
Anyone has some experience with this??

In my emails, how can I get Firefox to open links that begin with the word "click."? Instead of giving the me the message that says, for example, "Firefox can't find the server at click.americas.links.hp.com." This also happens when I try to open the links using Explorer.

This link was not valid when I clicked it. Please contact the person sending these links they do not seem to work. The page takes me to a page that says it will load after 5 seconds, however there is not valid link.

That works fine. What I'm having trouble with is being able to perform a new search and refreshing that open window
with the new data. Right now I am closing that window by clicking on the tab and then performing the search.
While it works, it's not user friendly.
So, I've tried the usual mywindow=window.open("url.cfm"); and then trying to grab that handle to refresh, but to
no avail. Has anyone done this?

Its probably because you have just closed another session of firefox and the cookies did not clear. you should do a ctrl-alt-del go to processes click on firefox and again on end task. this should fix your problem.

This issue probably occurs due to the application error described in the SAP Note [1456922|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1odSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1456922].
When login B1 with incorrect upper/lower cases for the user name (eg. The user name is registered "manager" but login as "Manager"), the user can login successfully but fails to open a certain form window the user has permission.
This issue is planned to be fix in a Patch of 8.8.
As workaround, until the issue will be fixed, the users should use exactly the same user name as itu2019s represented in the OUSR table, with case sensitive user code.

Popup not communicating with parent/opener window

I use an eCommerce system that when we are entering an item, a popup window will come up, asking us to choose the product. When I click the button that is supposed to link back to the parent/opener page with that product included, it does not link back and does not respond at all. Why is this a problem ONLY in Firefox? I have all the latest updated plug-ins (besides Google Earth and Yahoo! plug-ins). I even disabled pop-ups thinking that would help (not so much).

Let's check something. In the opener (original tab), press Ctrl+Shift+k to open the Web Console. Paste the following line of code and press Enter:

If you get something other than "undefined" then there appears to be a problem with the child window accessing the object in the opener. If you get "undefined", then the object reference is not valid in Firefox regardless of which window the code is in.

If you aren't receiving the reset email to your rescue email account (and you've checked the spam folder on that account as well as the inbox, and tried clicking the reset link again) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

IPod works well with Mac but Windows can't Open it when connected

My iPod details: Capacity - 74.37GB, Software Version - 1.3, Format - Windows (MS-DOS FAT 32 format)
MAC details given below.
PC details - Windows XP, Service Pack 3.
My iPod was formatted to work with Windows and Mac as I only had a PC when I bought it. It's been working quite well since I bought it and later with the Mac too. However, since the past few weeks, when plugged in to a PC via USB, the iPod is recognised as a folder and fails to OPEN or be EXPLOREed. The only thing allowed is a SEARCH option which helps me transfer files between PC and MAC.

There may or may not be a physical fault with the WD drive, but Macs can read but not write to NTFS disks unless you use a third party driver like Paragon NTFS for Mac, or NTFSMounter.
Your post seems to imply that before the current problems it used to be OK (ie you could read and write to it). Have you got NTFS for Mac or similar?
Did you have a reson for formatting NTFS? Mac drives are formatted HFS+. If you want Windows to read Mac disks you can install MacDrive in Windows, and Paragon HFS for Windows.

It happens at any time; when starting the computer or hours later; the computer is one year old, it has not many programs installed, the starter config is rather clean, there is nothing eating the computer resources, the hard disk is defragmented and the only add-on I use is the ad-block plus

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
