Can't join Family Plan because in wrong country

Hi! My dad recently upgraded out family's Spotify account to a Family Plan. We live in Sweden but we're currently on holiday in Spain. I created a new account to join the family plan but when I tried to apply the Family Plan code it said I lived in the wrong country. I have selected Sweden as my home country in the account settings, but it's still wrong. Can a mod correct this for me? My dad's account is: myhrmannenMy account is: augustmyhrman Thanks!

EDIT: Now solved! I don't know how, but it works.
I used a proxy to change my location to Sweden and used the code, and ta-da: it worked... I just did the same thing I did before. Maybe it just takes some time for it to work...

I can't join a network, because everytime I type in the password, "join" turns grey.  There's a lock sign next to the network name, but I'm not sure how to unlock it.  Can you help me??

The way you "unlock" it is by typing in the correct password. The lock indicates a private network that requires a password. Are you sure you have the correct password? Is this your own home network?
Why don't you reboot your iPad and try to log in again. Hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logo appears on the screen, let go of the button and the iPad will shut off. Turn back on by pressing the sleep button again until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. See if the iPad will accept your password.
If that doesn't work, you could try tapping the blue arrow next to the network name and then tap Forget This Network. Restart your iPad as described above. Then go back to settings, tap WiFi, select the network and enter the password again and see if it works.

  • Unable to Join Family plan Please help!

My husband purchased the Family account and the token link that Spotify gave is not working.  Please advise how we can reset as I cannot utlize the service fully and we have been paying for it for weeks.

Badunit you said "Continue setting up without the network. You can skip past it, right?"
It sounds like he is setting up the iPod via wif. You can't continue. What yo can do is reset the iPod
    - Reset the iOS device.
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then start the setup over again but this time connect the iPod to a computer and set up via iTunes. Then he can troubleshoot the connection proboem.

  • 1 Family Plan, 2 Area Codes

    Question:
Any advice or idea on how to get different area codes ported into one family plan?
    Scenario:
Two people want to join one family account (iPhones, AT&T) and port their existing numbers over. She has an ABC area code number and he has an XYZ area code number. Now, they both live in the OMG area code, but want to keep their numbers (strange, I know!). The family account is created and activated successfully. The ABC area code number is ported and the new billing and residence address is in the OMG area code.
    Problem:
The XYZ number cannot join the Family plan, because AT&T's billing system requires that all numbers on one family plan are in the same market (=general metropolitan area). According to 6 out of 10 AT&T Wireless representatives, the aforementioned Family plan can now only accommodate area codes within the vicinity of ABC, regardless of the plan's registration in the OMG area code, which is actually located adjacent to the XYZ area code.
    Thoughts:
This market billing problem seems to be particular to the one service provider chosen by Apple for the iPhone. Apparently, the scenario described above already overcame a similar, but lesser problem outlined at ( http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/06/30/howto_port_ineligible_mobile_numbers_to_att_andiphone.html ).
Is this really so unlikely to happen that it is not worth to change AT&T's policy and/or processing systems? Is it worth it to pay more per minute on two individual accounts for a phone that is already almost as common as a RAZR? Is it worth it to lose a long-held mobile number for a phone whose price may soon drop again, from a company that is about as faithful to its existing customers as Paris Hilton?
While its features may have been enough to prompt the iPhones' purchase, account inconvenience may quickly prompt a return, unless there is a way to have multiple area codes on one family plan.

I think it depends if OMG, XYZ and ABC are all the same market. My husband and I share a family plan but I'm ABC area code and he's XYZ but both our area codes fall in the XYZ market. We actually live in OMG area code now and had to go back to XYZ in order to merge our plans into a family plan.

  • Need advice on 2 individual plans to shared family plan

My Fiance and I want to go to a joined family plan.  Combined we pay about 160.00... or slightly less right now.
We both have 450 minutes plans, with Texting(i have 1500) she has unlimited, and we both have unlimited Data.
We both have new every 2's in December this year.  We both want Galaxy Nexus phones.
I'd like some advice on what the best option is for us.  I see the 89.99 is 1400 minutes.  That would be more minutes for both of us.  I want to absolutely keep the unlimted data but texting I think could be scaled back.
Do we get any benefit other than 1 bill being on a family plan?
I get to keep my company discount but she loses her discount?
They told us we should upgrade our phones first and after put our services together???
I appeciate any help the community can offer.

I'd suggest waiting just because you'll lose the NE2 credit on one phone. I've heard stories of people losing the upgrade when they change accounts, though I did this in January at all was fine. Also I'd double check about both keeping unlimited data. You will lose one discount, it's only for the account owner. What about dropping to 700 minutes that would save $20 a month. There is 1000 text plans for $10each line.
You'd need to do the math to find what's cheaper. You can also combine the accounts into one bill if the plans are not exactly the same. For example, I have 2 family plans, one 700 minutes the other 1400 minutes, but I get one bill. Their system would not combine into one bill when i had 2 exact same 700 minute plans.

  • Creating a Family Plan in Activation

My mom and I both have iPhones. Hers is activated, and mine isn't. We want to have a family plan, but she said you can only create individual plans in the activation process, not family plans.
Is there any way to create a family plan during activation? I don't want to create an individual line and then switch over to a family plan because I'd have to pay for an individual line that I don't need.
    Thanks!

Call AT&T and convert your plan to a Family plan, then activate the iPhone on the plan.

  • How to Set up Family Plan when you have two Apple IDs?

I stopped short of setting up Family plan because my wife and I have two Apple IDs each: One for iTunes ad one for iCloud.  This was caused by migrating from long ago Apple "cloud" services.
The set up seems to assume you have a single ID for each person and there are no instructions to set it up using hyour current iTunesa and iCloud IDs.
Has anyone successfully set up Family Plan while they have two sets of Apple IDs?

finally I found someone else with my dilemma.
I have my iTunes/AppStore ID with all my purchases and my iCloud ID with everything else.
this is a major issue that needs to be addressed.
    thank you.

  • Change from one family plan to another?

An ex-girlfriend who is on our family plan has been great about paying her portion of the bill is now thinking about moving out of state. If the people she is moving in with have Verizon can she switch family plans to theirs without penalty?

Simple answer is yes, You will have to agree for her to leave and that family needs to agree to add her. If they do not, she would have to get her own individual plan

  • Sprint to at&t, family plan additional fee, iphone!!

i am currently under contract sprint and would like to switch to at&t and get the iphone 3g. my family is with at&t and has a family plan. can i get on the family plan for the $9.99 additional line fee and pay the $30 data fee for the iphone or whatever it is or would i have to get a plan apart from the family plan?

Yes, you can get a family plan and add the $30 for the data package to the iphone.

  • 3 Phones on current family plan - Can i Switch a phone(#) without penatly?

    Here is the situation:
My girlfriend pays for the Family Plan and has 3 phones on it (hers, her mom's, and her EX-boyfriend).
I have an individual account which I am currently eligible to update my phone (which i wanted the Droid X), BUT my contract ends in MAY I believe.
Her ex-boyfriend refuses to give the phone back as well as refuses to pay his part of the bill (it being in my gf's name, she is kind of stuck paying his part).  So, my question is:  What is the most economical way for her to deal with it???
I believe she still has quite awhile until the contract ends, so it's NOT worth her paying the bill each month, BUT she also does not want to cancel his phone because of the early termination fee.
Are there any ways for her to get out of this WITHOUT a fee (keeping her other 2 phones on, but getting rid of HIS)?
MY idea was:   taking his phone (and changing the number figuring that way the fee would probably much less - just the cost of a number change, BUT he is not giving the phone back).....
Is there any way Verizon would cancel his phone/# and add mine (guessing i'd have to wait until MAY   ), and not add a fee since it would still be 3 phones?
Any other ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

Your GF AGREED to pay her ex's phone bill for two years. She is stuck with it.Changing numbers or replacing with your phone will not eliminate the responsibilty she agreed to.
Some ideas, her and him could do an assumption of liability if he is willing... I suspect he wont.
What I am going to suggest MAY force him to take the phone onto his own contract..... Suspend the line. She can choose to continue to pay or not. Without paying she can go three months and the contract is extended three months. Bit if he wants his number bad enough he may agree to take the line over when he finds the phone is DOA.
if he refuses to take the line, She needs to decide which is cheaper, paying the monthly bill (which if she suspends and still pays, she can choose a much lower plan) or whether the ETF is cheaper.  But no matter what, short term I would suspend the line so it does not work.

  • Old Family plans can no longer be used?

Today is the day I am able to upgrade my phone finally so I decided to preorder the Galaxy S III. I decided I'd rather lose my unlimited data and take the final NE2 $50 discount by waiting til today to preorder. So I'm going through the process and it tells me my plan is not compatible with my new device, and it gives me the option to either move to Share Everything (which I don't want to do because it is going to cost my family $20 more per month and we have no need for unlimited minutes or shared data as I am the only smartphone) or pick a new individual plan. I was under the impression this whole time that we would not be forced onto share everything(which is true) BUT that we would be able to KEEP our current plans (excluding unlimited data feature). But as I am going through the process, it is not giving me the option to keep our current rate plan. Is this actually the case, or am I just missing something?

    mdram4x4 wrote:
because he upgrading today instead of yesterday
    same answer applies
any upgrade will require a current plan
    sahre plan or individual
So when I upgrade my phone in 6 days I HAVE to take the new plans even though Verizon flatly stated current customers can keep the old plan.

    Restore...
From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.
There's more to try but let's go a bit at a time.
