Can't launch bridge when photoshop launches??? CS4

In CS3 you could set bridge to launch when you launched PS. Now it looks like you can only set bridge to launch when you log on to your system and it is always running??? Please, tell me I've missed something .. <g> thanks Tom O'Connell

Thanks, Ann, but I really don't want it running all the time. I guess I can just click on both icons in the dock, but I liked the way you could launch both apps at once in CS3 and would like to replicate that. Since I am still not 100% committed to a total swtich to mac, every little difference from my windows machines is annoying (my biggest problem isn't really photoshop but the way mac handles printing to ip addresses on a wireless network... or not<g>) cheers, tom

Can't start bridge from photoshop.

After updating bridge to new version. I try to launch bridge in photoshop with the "browse in bridge" menu option. Instead of launching bridge like it used to, it now goes to cc installer and asks to install bridge. It keeps looping like this endlessly. Even after shutting down computer and restarting.

Bridge can open manually via program files folder. The problem is it wont start through photoshop files->browse in photohop menu. It instead opens the CC panel and asks to download Bridge. No matter what I select it downloads bridge CC only and goes back into a loop. If I open bridge manually in the menu I can't access tools>photoshop>image processor which I use a lot and saves enormous amount of time for some of the work. Till it gets fixed I am wasting hours each day manually doing what image processor used to do.

I have photoshop CS4 and when I try to open it it shows error message 148:3 and won't open.
What should I do about this? What does that error code mean?

You have a user privileges/ permissions issue then. Same as with the Adobe stuff - due to insufficient permissions, all the auxiliary services can't be initiated. The specific cause will be only known to you, but could be anything from changing a user password to updating some other software. You might try to manually reset prermissions on your Avid and Adobe folders - right-click --> Properties --> Security and then some...

Selecting browse in bridge in photoshop 2014 launches CC applet, what is happening?

I have updated my system with the new Creative Cloud Application (Lightroom 5.5, Photoshop 2014 and latest Bridge) Now I am getting all sorts of errors.
At first I could use Edit in Photoshop 2014 command in Lightroom and the image would open in Photoshop, however after doing a few edits neither save or save as would work - all I got was a long involved error message. After a bit of investigation I removed Lightroom from the system and re-installed using the CC applet. Now when I try to Edit in Photoshop 2014 Photoshop 2014 opens but the picture I want to edit has not passed accross ata all.
I then had a try at using Bridge. I selected Browse in Bridge from Photoshop 2014 and instead of Bridge I got the Adobe CC Applet pop up offering to update Bridge (which was up to date anyway) and warning me about loosing settings if I did. I updated Bridge and then updates for Lightroom and Photoshop 2014 were offered which I installed. These have not made a blind bit of difference I still can't pass pictures from Lightroom to Photoshop and still can't open Bridge from Photoshop - it's still opening the CC applet.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

The answer seems to be to uninstall the Adobe CC applet and then re-install it again (while I was doing that I re-installed Photoshop 2014). All is working correctly now.

For that Nikon model you need ACR 8.3 that means CS6 or CC. Or you can download the DNG converter convert your Nikon RAW files to Adobe RAW files. And then process the Adobe RAW files with CS5 ACR version 6.7

The video tutorial window that shows when photoshop is launched is TOO SMALL. Can it be maximized??

The "Welcome" window that opens when PS CC 2014 is launched show the option to playa specific vidieo tutorials. However, that window in not adjustable and is frequently too small to see exactly what the person is actually doing. Can the video be enlarged?
There are other secondary videos that can be watched in that same window. These other videos are really quite tiny, actually. I can't see at all what the person is doing. I think it would be nice to be able to enlarge the videos presented within the Welcome window that opens with PS CC 2014. Is anyone else having this problem??

I am aware of the above links; they do not appear to contain the same, most recent videos containing the most recent updates that open in Photoshop when Photoshop is updated, however.
I think having these videos discussing the most recent updates immediately available in Photoshop is more timely and convenient. but again, I wonder why the video window is so small. Why was that considered good form and even helpful?

Automatically Launching Bridge when PS CS4 is launched

I just installed CS4 and my first difference is the (on a PC) Edit/Preferences/General does not have a check box for automatically alunching Bridge.
Was this moved to somewhere else? I liked this in CS3.

If you want Bridge to start up automatically when Photoshop starts in CS4 like it could in CS3, you will need to use an action. Here are the steps:
Create a new action by clicking the sticky note mini-icon in the action panel.
Give it a name like "BridgeStart".
Click on Record.
Do a File>Browse in Bridge... from the menu (this will start Bridge).
Go back to the Photoshop window and click the stop button in the Actions panel (the square mini-icon).
Now you have your action but you need to tell Photoshop to use it everytime it starts up. To do that:
Do File>Scripts>Scripts Event Manager...
Put a check in "Enable Events to Run Scripts/Action"
Select "Start Application" where it says Photoshop Event.
Select Action and specify the Action that you created earlier.
Click on the Add button to add the event.
Now everytime Photoshop starts, Bridge will start, too.

Problems launching Bridge from Photoshop and opening files as smart objects in Photoshop from Lightr

I am running Photoshop CC (up to date as of today) and Lightroom 5.2. I am hitting 2 major problems. In Photoshop if I select File/Browse in Bridge I get the following message
"Could not complete the Browse in Bridge command because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in".
However if I simply launch Bridge as an application it works ok (now I have reset the default application for all the appropriate file extentions to Photoshop CC rather than Photoshop in Bridge preferences) and opens the file in Camera Raw 8.2 in Photoshop when a Raw file is double clicked.
The second problem is associated with opening raw files in Lightroom 5.2, editing and then trying to "photo/edit in/Open as smart object in Photoshop" . In this case Photoshop opens with a blank screen and nothing happens Eventually about a minute later this message appears in Lightroom 5.2
"The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC could not be launched."
Rather strange message as the first thing that happened was that Photoshop CC opened!!
Same thing happens if try "photo/Edit in/Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC" except that having shut down photoshop I see a message from Lightroom 5.2 saying
Lightoom was unable to prepare the selected file at ..... for editing. It will not be opened.
When I click the OK button on this message low and behold the tif version of the RAW file opens in Photoshop. ready for futher editing with all the Lightroom edits applied.
Can anyone help me in sorting out this problem please
Operating system is Windows 8 64 bit and I am running the 64 bit Adobe applications.

Solved the problems by uninstalling Bridge and Photoshop then going into Creative Cloud App and re-installing both.

Can't view Camera RAW files in Bridge or Photoshop CS4 after upgrading to Mac Mavericks X OS.

After upgrading my Mac operating system to Mavericks X I can no longer view Camera RAW images on either Bridge or Photoshop CS4!
I'd already fixed the issue of not even being able to launch Photoshop by installing Apple's Java applet, but this doesn't seem to have helped with the Camera RAW situation.
I've tried invoking "Update" in both Bridge and Photoshop, and both indicate there are no updates.
I even went to Adobe's Camera RAW area, and downloaded and installed the Camera RAW plugin specifically for my cameras (Canon 5D Mk ii) and Photoshop CS4, and that hasn't helped at all!
I feel that it's just another silly Java applet, but I haven't any idea how to proceed from here!

Did you download and install the camera raw 5.7 update?

There are also other updates you should install, such as 11.0.2 for photoshop and the bridge output module update, if you need them.

Trying to open Adobe Bridge from Photoshop CC 2014 will launch Creative Cloud

As written in the subject, I have the problem that Bridge doesn't start anymore since updating to Photoshop CC 2014.
Instead the creative Cloud desktop application is launched and tries to reinstall Bridge CC (although it is already installed)
All old Bridge version were uninstalled without result.

I have the same issue when trying to Browse in Bridge from Photoshop CC 2014. When I click "Browse in Bridge" in Photoshop CC 2014, the Creative Cloud desktop client window opens up and asks "Are you sure you want to install this version of Bridge"?
Like you, I also thought it was an update so I clicked' "Yes, install this version" option.
Bridge will launch from the dock icon I have set up, but not from within Photoshop CC 2014.
Any solutions to this bug anyone?

I had to reinstall CS4 and now have error messages when opening bridge and photoshop

The error message is "The specified module could not be found. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.1\Version Cue.DLL

I tried what you suggested and it did not help. whenever I try to open either photoshop or bridge, I get a message saying that there was a problem loading scripts the last time that Bridge was open and do I want to try loading them again? If I click yes, I get that same error message that I reported in my original question and photoshop/bridge will immediately close. If I click no, photoshop and bridge will open but it will not let me open a raw format document. It seems like Adobe Camera Raw is not being recognized.   One of the updates I downloaded was an update to Adobe Camera Raw so the functionality is there, it just can't be accessed. do you think I should try to uninstall and re-install Photoshop again?

After installing Lightroom, CS3 Photoshop can't launch

Dear All,
Last night, I had installed Lightroom V1.0 into my iMac.
Verified and Repaired Permission and scanned with Disk Warrior. Then when I tried to launch Photoshop CS3, I had an error message:
"A required application library failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application"
Then I reinstalled (repair) only Photoshop and Verified and Repaired Permission. Had my HD scanned (again) with Disk Warrior but my Photoshop still can not launch.
Can anyone share some light here? I thought Lightroom should be able to go hand in hand with Photoshop?
Please advice.

Oh,definitely not. I am aware of Apple's security updates causes lots of problem. I didnt update any security update.
And recently, I had my HD formatted and reinstalled everything (except security updates) and yet I have this problem.
Maybe I should remove Illustrator, PS and Lightroom from my HD and reinstall (as suggested by another user). I also facing problem to update my Illustrator from 13.0.0 to 13.0.1.

Renewed my Membership but can't launch Photoshop CS6 now without it telling me to renew

Just renewed my membership with Creative Cloud yesterday but now can't launch Photoshop CS6. Got past the activation problem. Now it is asking me to renew my membership. AGAIN?

This issue comes when the Ps app not uninstalled but manually deleted. So when you try to download, it shows you that Ps CC is already installed.
Run the Cleaner tool to remove Ps CC :http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html . Restart your system and then try installing Ps again.

Can not launch lightroom says error when reading its preview cache

I can not launch Lightroom is puts up a error message that says it encountered an error when reading its preview cache and goes in to a loop that keeps closing the program
I have restarted my comp 4 times same this each time
I can't find any trouble shooting and when I try and download lightroom again it just puts me back at the creative cloud desktop which I can't click in anything

You need to delete the preview cache. LR will automatically create new previews.
Read here and here are the locations. Don't touch the *.lrcat file.
