In CS3 you could set bridge to launch when you launched PS. Now it looks like you can only set bridge to launch when you log on to your system and it is always running???

Please, tell me I've missed something .. <g>

thanks

Tom O'Connell

Thanks, Ann, but I really don't want it running all the time.

I guess I can just click on both icons in the dock, but I liked the way you could launch both apps at once in CS3 and would like to replicate that.

Since I am still not 100% committed to a total swtich to mac, every little difference from my windows machines is annoying (my biggest problem isn't really photoshop but the way mac handles printing to ip addresses on a wireless network... or not<g>)

cheers,

tom

• Problems launching Bridge from Photoshop and opening files as smart objects in Photoshop from Lightr

I am running Photoshop CC (up to date as of today) and Lightroom 5.2. I am hitting 2 major problems. In Photoshop if I select File/Browse in Bridge I get the following message
"Could not complete the Browse in Bridge command because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in".
However if I simply launch Bridge as an application it works ok (now I have reset the default application for all the appropriate file extentions to Photoshop CC rather than Photoshop in Bridge preferences) and opens the file in Camera Raw 8.2 in Photoshop when a Raw file is double clicked.
The second problem is associated with opening raw files in Lightroom 5.2, editing and then trying to "photo/edit in/Open as smart object in Photoshop" . In this case Photoshop opens with a blank screen and nothing happens Eventually about a minute later this message appears in Lightroom 5.2
"The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC could not be launched."
Rather strange message as the first thing that happened was that Photoshop CC opened!!
Same thing happens if try "photo/Edit in/Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC" except that having shut down photoshop I see a message from Lightroom 5.2 saying
Lightoom was unable to prepare the selected file at ..... for editing. It will not be opened.
When I click the OK button on this message low and behold the tif version of the RAW file opens in Photoshop. ready for futher editing with all the Lightroom edits applied.
Can anyone help me in sorting out this problem please
Operating system is Windows 8 64 bit and I am running the 64 bit Adobe applications.

Solved the problems by uninstalling Bridge and Photoshop then going into Creative Cloud App and re-installing both.

• Launching Bridge CC from thumbnails

Ever since installing Bridge CC I can no longer launch Bridge from a thumbnail. Yes, I have done all the obvious file associations in Windows 7 and in Bridge Preferances. And i have clearned out all old preferance files and reinstalled CC twice. Can launch Bridge fine and go to pictures but cannot launch by double-clicking on jpeg. Open With gives me Bridge option but nothing happens--Bridge will not launch. Help. Thanks.

Sorry for confusion. I was using “thumbnails” too broadly. L Replace thumbnail with file, that is a jpeg file in a folder.
Even with PS and Bridge open if I click on a jpeg file I cannot get Bridge to launch while I can get PS to launch.
To be more specific, let’s assume we right click on xyz.jpg and select “Open With”. I am given options of course and if I choose PS it will launch PS. Same with Windows Photo Viewer. And others.
But if I try Bridge nothing happens. Nothing.
Fyi, I have reinstalled Bridge CC three times and am running Windows 7. This all used to work fine before I switched from CS6 to CC.
Thank you.

• Can't open bridge cs4 after installing Mac OS Yosemite

Installed Yosemite on iMac a few days ago. Now, when I try to launch Bridge CS4, the screen goes black momentarily and Bridge doesn't open. I tried downloading PSE 9 and Organizer, but I don't like them. Can I replace Bridge CS4 with a later version?Bridge General Discussion

Are these Apps installed on the external, or are you trying to run them from the internal while booted from the external?

• When i launch Bridge CC and make first click on any button, the program freezes.

When i launch Bridge CC and make first click on any button, the program freezes. How to solve this problem?

This error can be caused by the My Web Tattoo extension (application?) that shows as FBSMTWB in your user agent.
See http://help.fastbrowsersearch.com/
You may need to reset the user agent after you have removed that program.

I moved from CS5 to CC. I used to be able to launch Bridge from DW CS5 - directly to the images folder for the site I was working on. I can't figure out how to make that happen in DW CC. Any suggestions?

• Cannot launch Bridge in CS6

I installed CS6 on both my PC and Laptop, but have never been able to launch Bridge on either device. Must I uninstall and reinstall, or can I use my disks to repair the inoperable parts of Photoshop?
Fay Geddes

Reinstall rarely helps.
Do you have another version running in background?

• Launched bridge, then all it says is waiting for Bridge CS6

trying to view my pictures on my computer
in CS6 and I lauched Bridge and now all it says is "waiting for Bridge CS6"
I have been using Lightroom 4 so I am not a complete idiot, just new to PS CS6. Any help is appreciated.

In Photoshop, are you launching 'Bridge' or 'MiniBridge'? Usually the error message 'Waiting for Bridge' comes when you try to open MiniBridge in Photoshop.
The first thing you can try is to purge preferences & cache in Bridge.
On Mac, hold down the Command (apple), Option and Shift keys as you startup Bridge. You will get a dialog box asking if you want to reset preferences.
On Windows, Control Shift Alt and follow the instructions in dialog box.
Let us know if that fixes your issue. If not, don't panic - there's other solutions!

• Can't start bridge from photoshop.

After updating bridge to new version. I try to launch bridge in photoshop with the "browse in bridge" menu option. Instead of launching bridge like it used to, it now goes to cc installer and asks to install bridge. It keeps looping like this endlessly. Even after shutting down computer and restarting.

Bridge can open manually via program files folder. The problem is it wont start through photoshop files->browse in photohop menu. It instead opens the CC panel and asks to download Bridge. No matter what I select it downloads bridge CC only and goes back into a loop. If I open bridge manually in the menu I can't access tools>photoshop>image processor which I use a lot and saves enormous amount of time for some of the work. Till it gets fixed I am wasting hours each day manually doing what image processor used to do.

Jim Felder: I was on the forums and someone said they had installed Bridge with their install of Photoshop with no issues.
Jim Felder: yes I have installed it
Jim Felder: I have Bridge CS5 but not CS6

• Can't launch Safari due to error message

I can't launch Safari anymore. It says it is missing some important resources and I have to reinstall Safari. I have done so, but it still does not work.
Here is the error message;
The procedure entry point SQLite3_wal.checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll.
Can someone please help me? I have rebooted my computer, uninstalled Safari and reinstalled it without any luck.
Thank you very much

Just so you are aware, Apple no longer suports Safari for Windows.
If you don't want to use IE, try Firefox for Windows > Mozilla Firefox Web Browser
Much more user friendly than Safari.
