Can't launch, can't uninstall Dreamweaver CS6

I've moved onto a new laptop (Macbook Pro), and Dreamwever CS6 seems to have gotten borked. I get errors and crashes when I try to launch, and I cannot uninstall the program to try and get a fresh install (it just says there are errors and won't go any further). What's going on and what can I do to fix?

Choovie and Gwangung if you are unable to successfully use the uninstallers and the CC Cleaner Tool then I would recommend restoring your new Macintosh to it's default state.  Once restored copy over only your documents and settings.  You will then want to install any applications you wish to use, including your Adobe applications, on your new Macintosh.
If you need to download a fresh copy of the installation files then please see Other downloads.

  • I can't open Flash, Illustrator or Dreamweaver CS6

    Hi everyone !
    I have a very big problem :
I can't open Flash, Illustrator or Dreamweaver CS6.
For the two last, I think downloading the latest version (CC) would solve the problem.
But I need to keep Flash CS6 to open my client AS2 files.
It stopped working for nothing (no updates or anything new).
When I try to launch : Dreamweaver and flash icons move and then stop. And Illustrator icon won't even move. And I don't get any launch screen or anything.
I tried to download again the softwares, to restore the preferences...
    I'm on Mac OSX 10.9.1.
    Thanks for your help !

    Hi everybody !
I uninstalled everything, cleaned preferences, everywhere I could find them, cleaned my computer, repaired permission, etc...
And then re installed the adobe softwares I need...
And still, I can't turn on flash or dreamweaver CS6 AND CC.
Fortunately, I have my old notebook that I can run everything on to make what I need for my clients but it's an old one and it's really slow
The last solution I can think of is to re-install all my computer.
    I really don't understand
I'll do that this weekend, I think... it should work... hopefully...
    Regards,
    Nastasia

  • Where can I find a link to Dreamweaver CS6 trial?

I need to try Dreamweaver CS6 but cannot find the link. Any supposed link goes to Dreamweaver CC
As an aside, I have been 'chatting' with Adobe support for over 30 minutes and they cannot answer the question.  <sigh>

Have a look at the link below, scroll down to the box of download links (I don't know it they work but you can try)
Download Adobe CS6 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools
Read the instructions above the download link box otherwise it won't work.

  • Why Can't I Copy/Paste Into Dreamweaver CS6?

I am running Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 3 and I have Dreamweaver CS4 and CS6 installed.
When I work on sites in CS6 I find I'm having issues with copying and pasting.  It doesn't matter where I try to pull the information from, it won't paste into Dreamweaver CS6 (code view or design view). It seems to work fine in CS4, as well as every other application I try to paste to.
I don't have CS4 and CS6 open simultaneously. I just kept CS4 because it had a bunch of info on other sites I need to transfer over, as well as testing CS6 before fully commiting to it.
Any insight or help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I have this problem, too, and it's driving me f'n crazy, too!
While I'm happy other forum members are offering to help by asking diagnostic questions, why grill us over what we have installed and what we can and can't do? This is a problem shared by many users. Why is the burden of "proof' on our shoulders? No offense meant, Nancy and Murray, but are you going to be able to resolve this bug? Unless you work at Adobe, I doubt it! It's not something WE are doing.
I've been using Dreamweaver since version 1.0 in 1998 or so, and I've never had this problem. It seems like something that should be pretty basic to identify and fix. Shouldn't Adobe be on these forums asking what programs we have installed on our machines and what we can and can't do? What help is it if a fellow forum member asks these questions? Adobe is a major corporation that should be listening to our issues, especially if we're forking over $600 PER YEAR for Creative Cloud!
This problem needs to be fixed, and it needs to be fixed now. I can't work like this!

  • Can't map keyboard shortcuts in Dreamweaver CS6 (Mac)

I am trying to modify the keyboard shortcuts in Dreamweaver CS6 on Mac to match the mappings I had for CS5.
I used Ctrl + Tab and Ctrl + Shift + Tab to switch between open documents. When I trry to set this in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog it ignores my input. I tried to modify it in menu.xml (which already had this set, presumably because it copied it from CS5), but it still doesn't appear in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog or work when I press the keys.

I've just done some testing, and can confirm that Dreamweaver CS5.5 on a Mac (UK keyboard) allows you to assign Ctrl+Tab to that keyboard shortcut. But it won't accept it on Dreamweaver CS6.
I've no idea why that should be so. It's probably an internal change to something else that has affected it, and nobody noticed during testing because it's not common to change an existing keyboard shortcut to something else.
I suggest that you file a bug report through the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. Reports filed through that form go directly to the program team.
I can understand your frustration, but please remember that most of the people answering questions here, including myself, are not Adobe employees.

  • Uninstall Dreamweaver cs6

Hi, just recently installed dreamweaver cs6 trial, but later decised to uninstall it. I opened control panel, selected dreamweaver and pressed Uninstall. Nothing happened, absolutely. No error message.
    How can I uninstall it?
    Windows 7 Ultimate
And yes, when I run it, it says that my license is damaged and I have to reinstall it.

Sounds like you need an industrial-strength cleaner:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
That tool will ask you which version you want to uninstall, so make sure you choose CS6 and not another installation.  It works back to CS4 I believe.

  • I can't run swf files in dreamweaver cs6, they place in the page fine, but can't be viewed.

I've created an animation .swf file in Flash and inserted it on a new webpage. When I go to view it in live mode, it's blank. When I view it in the IE browser I keep getting a message that I need a newer version of Adobe Flash player, which is not the case, and even going through the install process doesn't help. When uploaded, it doesn't appear on the webpage. This is Dreamweaver in the CS6 release on a Windows 7 64 bit system. The animation file runs fine when viewed from the original folder, but does not funciton (blank screen) when opened from the copied file Dreamweaver puts in the site folder. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Also, is there a way to loop a .flv file? This could be a work-around if I can't resolve the .swf issue.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
    Mark

    Hi Jon,
Unfortunately not. The website is actually an HTML module logded in a third party program. Even in the development stage though I can't see the .swf file in either the live mode or by viewing with IE. Flash video files play fine as have the other graphics I've incorporated. It seems like a file is missing to make the .swf animation work properly. When I copied the file over from the original folder, Dreamweaver also placed "expressInstall.swf " and "swfobject_modified.js" in a scripts folder. I'm wondering if there should be another or different file to make this work.

  • Can two different people who have Dreamweaver CS6 installed edit the same website?

AS the title suggests, I'm trying to figure out if it is possible for two different people to make edits to the same website if CS6 is installed on BOTH computers.

    Hi,
You can activate the check-out option in the configuration for your site.
Sites/Manage Sites. Then klick the name of your site and click the edit-pen.
Choose Servers, Click the name of the site and then the edit-pen again.
Finally choose the Advanced button and check the "Activate file check-out" box
and fill in name and email.
Now every time you or your partner works on a file on the remote-server
you get a little icon saying that so and so have checked in or out this file.
Also try the Design Notes under Advanced settings that can be handy when
    working in a team.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't launch Muse. Uninstalled. Now can't re-download.

I purchased Creative Cloud, make a big commitment to it.
    I am on a Mac, OSX 10.
Ihave been using Muse beta.  I uninstalled the beta this morning (by dragging to Trash).
I logged into Creative Cloud, downloaded Application Manager, and downloaded Muse. When I clicked on the Launch Application button, nothing happened. Tried lots.
So uninstalled the real Muse using Utilities/Adobe Installers.
Now when I go into Creative Cloud and click on Download for  Muse, I get this:
    seriously? has Adobe site crashed?
I am so frustrated. I have tons of work to do with Muse today.
    please help!!!!

Nope. I downloaded Muse again, but when I click on Launch Application nothing happens. Nothing. I also do see Muse anywhere in Applications folder or anywhere else I've looked via Finder.  Please help me!

  • Can't find anchor tool in Dreamweaver cs6. It is not on the toolbar. Please help.

It is not on the toolbar. and it's not in the Insert menu.  Please help.

To create "anchors" the correct way with current standards, you only need to know the id of the element you want to link to and in the link field add #that_id_name.
If you want to link to multiple items in the same element (like a Q&A section) you just highlight the text or image you want to be the "anchor" and give it an ID in the Properties Inspector. Then you highlight the item you want to use to jump to that point and give it #that_id_name in the link field.

  • Can't select code in Dreamweaver cs6

    Hi,
I can't select html code in Dreamweaver CS6. Instead a line appears with a small square at the top and bottom. What is this, and how do I turn it off?  I've searched in the forums and the only suggestion that I found was to check whether I am using a template, but that isn't the case. This is occuring on existing and newly created files.  I have the view set to Designer with split view.
    Thanks

Not sure what you mean by a line with a small square at the top and bottom. This is normal when you select anything in code view:
When you click one of the boxes, it collapses the code like this:
To expand the code, click the box next to the line number.
If that's not the problem, please describe what's happening in more detail.

  • Finder says Dreamweaver CS6 is a Power PC app?

For some reason I'm not able to post on the Adobe Support Forums so I thought my next best option would be here.
I got the new Macbook Pro with Retina Display the other day and bought Adobe Design and Web Premium as well, everything installed fine apart from Dreamweaver. When I try to open it, an error pops up saying "You can't open the application "Adobe Dreamweaver CS6" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported". Obviously it's not a PowerPC app, so is there anyway to fix with without unistalling and re-installing?
    Thanks in advance!

Text Edit wouldn't open them, but when I clicked on Show Package Contents there was a page TXT.rtf which opened the file in Text Edit. I lost all the pics, but the text was the most important. So Thank You for the lead.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 "not supported with this type of Mac" problem

When I try to open Dreamweaver CS6 on my Macbook Pro, it says "You can't open the application Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 because it is not supported with this type of Mac.  I'm not sure if this is a question for Apple, but why would it not work on my Mac?  My Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Media Encoder all work just fine.  Any help?  Thanks!
