Can't launch Illustrator CC on my mac after I downloaded a trial

I downloaded Illustrator CC as a trial first. It attempts to launch for a few seconds, and then it goes away. All the other CC applications run fine.

i got stuck trying to understand the nuts & bolts of this post too but the answer is here on post #7 link in creating the two folders manually or by the Terminal routines
i put screenshots on my thread of the column views Pls just tell me how - CS6 Yosemite Java
as post #9 said, i am pretty sure you just manually create the new folders in the locations, give them the suggested names, and the OS will do the rest but i did mine through Terminal...
as a final redundant note, u probably don't want to install the legacy JAVA 6 on the Apple link because it's old, go to https://www.java.com/en/download/mac_download.jsp?locale=en and install the latest version of JAVA (and be sure to update it in the future in case apple/adobe software updates don't find it for u)

It will never run in OS X. You need to install Windows on your machine.

My Illustrator CS6 gets as far as the menu's then crashes. I have a Mac Pro with 12GB RAM

Download Java for OS X 2013-002, from: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572
Install the Java update using the downloaded .dmg file.
When installation is complete, a Software Update dialog is displayed. The dialog asserts that you need the Java SE 6 Runtime to run Adobe Illustrator CS6.
In the Software Update dialog, click Install.
Launch Illustrator.

I had my hard drive replaced, by warranty. Guys in service centre installed 10.6.7 , but as my mac is a new one, and was eligible for free install of Lion. Unfortunately I didn't use time machine, so i don't have a back-up on software (I guess it's included in Time Machine). I have tried to download Lion from the Apple store application - it says - The file got somehow corrupted, and didn't run the installation. I have tried to download t once again - AppleStore app said it's installed already - And I couldn't download it again. I've decided to reinstall MacOS from DVD's I got with my mac and to try again. Now AppStore offers me to buy it! But it's supposed to be free, just because I had it installed already, isn't it? I wrote an email in Hardware up-to-date program, hope they'll help, but my mac was bought almost half a year ago.. What else can i do? Can somebody give me any advice, please?

You then upgrade from snow Leopard (10.6.x) to Lion (10.7.x), correct? How did you do the upgrade the first time?
You had to logon to the Apple Mac store and use your purchase date and serial number to get the free upgrade the first time. Just do that again.
Maybe not through the App store? Maybe through Apple Support after logging into your account and viewing your registered products?

How can I RAID a disk on my Mac after turning off FileVault2?

before I encrypted my drive with FileVault2 on my mac, I had the 5 different options that I could do to my disk in disk utility. First aid, erase, partition, raid and restore.
After encrypting my mac with filevault2, I only had the options to either First aid or partition. That was fine, until I wanted to RAID my disk. I also wanted 3 different partitions instead of 2. I thought that if i turned off filevault2, I would get the option to raid again but instead I still could only do First Aid or partition.
Could someone please tell me how I can RAID my disk again on my mac? (note: I would not like to have to erase my drive and reinstall Mac OS X again.)

I own PSE7 for Windows. Can I re-install PSE7 on new Mac? [was: Downloading Previous Purchases]

I've owned Photoshop Elements 7 for several years and now I have a new computer and want to install it on the new computer but my history is showing that I've bought nothing at any point in time. Is there a way that history can be restored so that I can find the installer and enter my serial number?

if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.

I'm having the same problem, it has audio but no image, it's all black since I installed Lion.
I just downloaded the last version of Flip4Mac and even then I only get the black window but with sound.
The same file plays OK using VLC.
Any help is welcome.

Can't launch Illustrator CC 2014.1 on Mac

I have a MacBook Pro Retina and have been unable to launch or open files in illustrator since I installed the latest version two days ago (Oct. 6). I need this program for work and really need to get it working ASAP.
I have installed a previous version of Illustrator as a temporary fix. Any tips on how to fix this? I have already uninstalled, restarted the computer, run the CC Cleaner Tool, and reinstalled and it still does not work.

If you use Suitcase Fusion 5 as your font manager and its plugin for Illustrator CC 2014, this Extensions Suitcase 5 update may solve the issue:

Can't open Illustrator CS6 on a Mac

Every time I try to open Illustrator I get The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CAN'T].
I hit okay and then get The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [>MIT] hit okay and it won't open.
Fixed disk permissions and restarted but it's still happening. I'm using OS 10.6.8.
Also tried deleting the apple.com.plist in preferences.

This is due to the mismatch between the language in which AI CS6 is installed and the language of the OS. For eg. You couldn't run AI CS6 installed in Japanese on an English OS.
Just change the language under 'Preferences' using following link - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/change-installed-language.html and make it hsame as that of OS.Afterwards, install AI CS6 through Creative Cloud Desktop App and then launch AI. You would be able to do so then.

Can't launch Illustrator

I am working on a Mac OS X 10.6 and I can't open my Illustrator 5.
I haven't installed anything new or changed any setting since last using it (there was an hour gap between closing and trying to open again).
When I open the program it says initialising and then nothing happens, if I go to another program the tile remains on the dock but says not responding.
I have tried clearing user preferences and re-installing with no success.
All other Adobe programs are working fine.
Any help greatly appriciated.

How do I fix "Error loading plugins" when I launch illustrator CS6 on my Mac?

At some point, I accidently moved one or more file folders in illustrator. When I launch the app now I get a list of the following errors.
Advanced Select.aip
Flare.aip
FlattenTransparencyUI.aip
ObjectMosaic.aip
PNGFileFormat.aip
When the app opens I am missing several necessary components on my artboard.

Easiest way is to uninstall and reinstall (possibly running the Cleaner tool in between).

Can't launch LR catalog on external drive after upgrading to LR 4.

Today I realized I was using LR3 instead of the LR4 upgrade. I quit LR3 and launched LR4. (Note: I did upgrade the catalog when I installed LR4.) The catalog opened just fine, but I noticed that edits and some library additions I had made while back in LR 3 were missing. I quit LR4. Relaunched my computer. Now I can't open my catalog in either LR3 or 4. The catalog is on an external hard drive. I'm getting the message "Lightroom cannot launch with this catalog. It is either on a network volume or on a volume on which Lightroom cannot save changes." I am not on a network. The external drive is attached to my desktop Mac. I have been launching with the catalog on the hard drive for over a year. I am at a loss to solve this. Help. I need to get to my pictures.

Okay I fixed my own problem. I quit everything again and restarted my computer again. This time LR launched okay. I went back to LR3 and found I was using an older catalog. Then I quite that, relaunched LR4, selected the older catalog, and checked the box that says "upgrade again". I let this run and got a catalog with a new version number. The library is now in synch and I am happy again.
