Can't launch Photoshop CC from my dock

Earlier I uploaded a twain plug in from a link I got from the Adobe site. On the site it said that if I had trouble with the plug in to delete it which I did because it didn't work. After that, Photoshop wouldn't launch from the dock. It would only launch if I dragged a Photoshop document onto the icon. I looked on Adobe again to try and fix that problem and it said that signing out of Creative Cloud and signing back in would fix that problem, which I did. I tried it and Photoshop launched that time but when I tried it later it wouldn't open again. Again, only when I drag a photoshop document onto it. How can I fix this?

Have you tried dragging the PS icon out of the dock and replacing it?

After recently upgrading to Tiger, I can't open an item in Photoshop after double-clicking or dragging onto the Photoshop icon in the dock. I have to go into Photoshop first to open it. What a pain!
I'm sure this is an easy fix, but obviously I don't know it....

First off, sounds to me the Photoshop icon in the dock was made from an alias, and not the actual application. If the alias lost its way to the original file at anytime, that can break the connection on the Dock. Remove Photoshop from the Dock while it is closed and reopen the application directly, and click and hold the Photoshop icon in the Dock, and select the menu item in the Dock for Keep in Dock. That at least should fix it so dragging an item to Photoshop will launch it if Photoshop recognizes the file format.
Note, if your open/save dialog box is open in Photoshop, it won't allow you to open documents from the Finder. Only when a file is already open, or just the application is open with no user clickable dismissable dialogs are open, will files launch from the Finder.
If none of these applies, you may need to change the Open/With settings by control-mouse clicking the said document and select Open With... Navigate to the Photoshop application itself in the file browser that comes up, and check off the checkbox "Always Open With".

How can I import Photoshop-Shortcuts from CC into the CC 2014 update? Migration and Sync didn't help. What am I doing wrong? The .kys is also in the same folder as in the previous version of PS CC.

If you had Illustrator you could take advantage of smart objects.
Has been awhile since I worked in Corel (so do not remeber if Corel had clipboard settings whcih need adjusuting), but do remember copying a path, getting that into Phothshop as shape layer for part of the artowrk in a trade show poster.

Renewed my Membership but can't launch Photoshop CS6 now without it telling me to renew

Just renewed my membership with Creative Cloud yesterday but now can't launch Photoshop CS6. Got past the activation problem. Now it is asking me to renew my membership. AGAIN?

This issue comes when the Ps app not uninstalled but manually deleted. So when you try to download, it shows you that Ps CC is already installed.
Run the Cleaner tool to remove Ps CC :http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html . Restart your system and then try installing Ps again.

What is this? I just want to use photoshop on my laptop using the same license I use for my desktop. Please help

Desktop = OSX 10.8.5
Launching photoshop from dock. It asks for serial number. I enter serial number copied directly form my account with adobe.
Error says "This serial number is not valid for Adobe Photoshop CC."
I'm confused as to why Photoshop worked before on my laptop but now it does not. Did something expire? Do I need a separate serial number for a different computer (ie. my laptop). I don't understand.

Can't launch Photoshop because Web update hangs

This question seems to pop up in waves in these forums.
If you can't even get to the menus, then temporarily disconnect from the Internet (pull out the cable), then launch Photoshop and set your online preferences to NEVER check for updates. After that you can reconnect to the Internet.
Your problem will be gone forever.
If you are using Photoshop 7: The last update for Photoshop 7.x was 7.0.1. Make sure you have applied that update. After that, there will not be any updates for 7.x, so you'll miss nothing by having your online preferences set to NEVER check for updates.
If you are using Photoshop CS ( a.k.a 8 ): Photoshop CS is set to NEVER check for updates by default.
You can always navigate to Adobe.com and check for their product updates you may wish to download and install.

After SN install can't launch Disk Utility from external drive

I recently upgraded 10.5.9 to SN on my white Macbook. First I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the old drive onto the replacement drive in an external enclosure. Then I swapped drives so that the new drive is now the internal drive and the old drive is in the enclosure. I then upgraded the OS on the internal drive via SN installer on DVD.
Now when I start from the external drive in OS X 10.5.9 and try to launch Disk Utility from this drive I get a weird error message that "Disk Utility can't be launched because it's incompatible with this architecture." The only things I can think of is that Snow Leopard installs something that globally effects all perhipherals (like new disk drivers?), or that there is something in the enclosure's USB bridge which is causing this, or that installing Snow Leopard breaks the PRAM for older versions of OS X. Tech support for the enclosure vendor tells me there is nothing in the enclosure's USB that would cause this. Any insights into what's happening appreciated.

Thanks for response. Ah, that's it. I was trying to launch it from the applications folder I had dragged to the dock, which was done while running Snow Leopard. That's why (duh!) all the application icons were slashed out. : |

Help Launching Photoshop CS6 from Dreamwaever

Since I installed Photoshop CS6 I am no longer able to launch Photoshop from the properties bar in Dreamweaver.
This problem started when I installed Photoshop CS6, I was originally using Dreamwever CS5.5. I upgraded Dreamweaver to CS6 but it did not correct the problem.
Aditional information: When in Dreamweaver, if I select an image on a web page the icon in the properties window shows the PS icon but when I click on it I get the following error message:
Maybe this belongs in the Dreamweaver section but since the problem only started after installing Photoshop CS6 I thought this would be the appropriate place for it.
I am a Web Designer so this is a real inconvenience to me, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Safari/internet launcher icon deleted from the dock and now missing

I am new to the Mac so there is probably an easy solution I just haven't discovered yet, but when playing with my preferences yesterday, I switched the dock to the left side and mistakenly deleted the internet launcher icon (the springboard-like icon with the @ symbol) but couldn't figure out what was gone and then emptied my trash later in the day. It doesn't help that I don't know exactly what the shortcut/launching icon was called, but I can't find it anywhere in Applications or through Safari. Now, in order to go on line I have to pull up Safari and then go from there.
Any idea how to restore the launching icon since it appears to have been wiped from the harddrive?

Hi vin, welcome to the Mac world.
The little icon that looks like @ on a spring is nothing but a web location. If you click on it and your browser isn't running it will launch your browser and then open the web page it references. I believe the original was a link to Apple. If you want it back just click on the wee little icon at the start of a URL in your browser address space and hold that click while you drag it to the Trash side of the Dock.
You can add and substract anything you want to the Dock--just drag whatever it is to the Dock or from the Dock. Applications go on the side of the Dock with the Finder icon, other things on the side with the Trash. Running Applications (there should be a little triangle next to the ones that are running) can't be removed while running.
I strongly suggest you get David Pogue's Missing Manual book on Tiger, you will discover many many things to help you get the most from your new Mac.

Yes, you can use ActiveX for that, to start, you should place an Automation open in the diagram, select activeX class (Access application) and from there, follow wiring property and invoke nodes to do almost anything with Access.

I am trying to lauch a business rules from smartview, but the "calculation option"/ "business rules" menu is unavailable in Excel.
This business rules is available in the Web HBR launcher.
How could I get access to business rules in Excel please ?

In Excel, you can't launch a Business rule in a free form, you have to use a form from Hyperion Planning for example.
It would have been nice to be able to launch a BR in Smartview, as in the web launcher.

How can I transfer Photoshop CS5 from my macbook pro running Maverick to my iMac that is running Mountain Lion

I have been trying to figure out how to transfer Photoshop CS5 from my Macbook Pro to the my iMac. The Macbook Pro was running Mountain Lion until I updated a few days ago to Maverick. The iMac is sill running Mountain Lion because when I went to update to Maverick it let me know that I would not be able to run Photoshop CS3. Under normal conditions I would not be concerned, but I don't have the Photoshop CS5 disk anymore to install it, so hence my problem.
I tried backing up to time machine and that did not work, I tried a transfer using firewire and it transfer the problem but then when I try to open it on the iMac it is looking for the serial number.
I would appreicate any help on resolving this.

The HD will probably have to be removed from the MacBook Pro and connected to a USB adapter or placed in a dock to get your data off of it. I would take the MacBook Pro along, the folks at the Apple Store should be more than happy to help transfer your data to a new iMac.

[Cinnamon] Can't launch cinnamon-settings from menu.

I've just put together a fresh install with gdm and cinnamon, but I can't launch the cinnamon-settings widget from the settings button (on the bottom left)
From what I've gathered in my forum / wiki / google searches, this isn't too uncommon. However, unlike in those cases, I can launch the settings widget from the console. I can also navigate through it, except it doesn't actually *do* anything when I change settings. This is somewhat annoying, as I want to theme the desktop / set up my multi-head configuration properly / change the background.. you get the picture.
This is what I have installed:

Wow, this was stupid. I hadn't used cinnamon before - I thought it looked a lot like GNOME.. and guess what, it IS GNOME. that's why the settings don't work. My problem is that GDM picked the wrong session. Jesus.

Can't launch Photoshop Touch app

app suddenly down while editing then tried to relaunch but never work.
it seems the app tried to open the latest file which was the trigger of the trouble as showing the progress square icon running but never open the workspace screen.
even once killed from the task tray, the result would be the same.
how can I do for it ?

You launch the program from the start menu, not the CC app.
