Can't listen live to line

I used to have a PCMCIA SB card on my laptop that I connected my XM to the line in and my headphones to the line out. Worked great for listening to my XM at work. When it finally bit the dust, I got a XFi USB. Now I am unable to duplicate what I had. I have went through all the Windows XP settings and Creative Console settings and can't make it happen.
The odd thing is that I can record off of the XM, then play it back, so I know I am getting input, but I just can't listen to it li've.

Issue resolved. I upgraded to the latest Creative Console Launcher, went in?Entertainment Mode and checked the block to monitor Line In. That option was not available in the CD version of the app.

  • How Can I listen to the line-in on my T400?

When I am at my desk, I've always had my satellite radio plugged into the line-in on my computer so that I can listen to it through the same speakers.  With my new T400, I have the radio's output plugged into the line-in on the Advanced Dock.  I know that it's getting a signal because if I record with Microsoft Sound Recorder, it records the radio.
How can I listen live to the signal coming into the line-in?

You can thank Microsoft for this one.  They disabled the pass-through ability in Vista. Apparently too many people complained about feedback issues when trying to use webcams or VOIP programs and didn't know to mute the Line-In on the mixer.  It took me forever to find how to correct it.
The following will enable the input sliders in your playback devices so audio pass through works without having to run through an application like it worked in XP. Remember, always backup your Registry just in case. I had to create new Keys for filter and SpeakerHp but yours may already be there
    1) Open regedit (Start->Run, type regedit)
    2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE1031*8}\0000\Settings\filter\SpeakerHp\
    3) Create a new Binary Value
    4) Give it the name EnableInputMonitor
    5) Set it's value to 01
    6) Restart your machine
    7) Open your Playback Devices (right click on volume control icon in system tray, select Playback Devices)
    8) Open the Speakers/Headphones
    9) Go to the levels tab
    10) Unmute the input monitor

  • Can not listen Off line music without Internet con...

    Hi ,
I downloaded the "Nokia mix top60" to my lumia for Offline usage.
I though it was working fine , then I entered the Subway , and the music stopped.
The nokia mix application is complaining that there is no Internet connection.
Is it so that even dowloaded mix can be listen only when having Internet connection?
    thank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should not need a connection. A downloaded mix canm be used in a plane, at the top of Mount Everest or wherever. The mix will need to refresh every month or so, but you would see a notification message about that.
When exactly did you download the mix? One thing that comes to mind is that if you had just downloaded it, ie: you had been listening live, liked the mix and set it downloading, this might explain things. You cannot play a downloaded offline mix until the whole mix, all of its songs, are downloaded, in the meantime you could still be listening to the same mix via live streaming as the offline copy downloads.
If the offline copy of the mix was still downloading at the time you entered the subway and you lost your connection, the download obviously stops as does the live stream that you are listening to.
If this does not describe your situation and you are sure that you had fully downloaded the mix (specifically: you downloaded it previously and had listened to it on a separate occasion), then perhaps you could provide more information about the circumstances of your downlaod and listening so that we can investigate further.

  • How can I listen to a gifted iTunes song without adding my credit card?

I am having an absolute nightmare of a time with Apple. A friend gifted me with a song on iTunes. I do not have iTunes and am not a Mac user. I have found that the computers always add unnecessary steps and procedures and make even simple things far more complicated than needs be, as evidenced further here.
Bottom line, I just want to listen to the song my friend sent me. Easy, right? WRONG.
In order to do that, I needed to download iTunes. Reluctantly, I did. I was then told to download the x64 version, I did. Then, I had to create an account which asked for my personal information including home address, I shouldn't have to give this out to just listen to a song. But hesitantly, I filled it out. Then, when I tried to redeem the song, an error message popped up that said "this iTunes ID hasn't been used in the store" and to review my account, upon which clicking on it simply took me to signing in again and not going anywhere. To determine how to proceed to fix this error message, all the answers in Google were connected to Apple support communities. So then, I had to create a separate login for that. Now that I have, I'm seeing that I am being forced to add a credit card to my iTunes to listen to the download my friend sent me. Forget this. It's been two hours of this nonsense and I still haven't listened to the song. At this point I don't care at all about the song, all joy has already been removed from this gift with nothing but frustration. What a completely unnecessary waste of the few non-work hours I actually have in the evening. If anyone knows how I can just listen to the darn song to honor my friend's generosity and to not add my credit card and just get on with my life, I would greatly appreciate it.

P.S.   Do you know if the person who has an account and has sent a song as a gift can tell if it was redeemed or not? I just want this to be over.

  • Transferring tapes to QTP.  Can I listen also?

I am transferring a number of audio tape programs to a digital format using QTP. They wind up as .mov. Can I listen to the recording as I copy it?
    thanks

It took me a couple of minutes to figure this one out, and you'll laugh at the solution. I looked around everywhere for the usual "playback while recording" option, which I couldn't find anywhere. But then I noticed there's a volume slider on the Audio Recording window. You get bad feedback if you're using the built in microphone, but if you're using Line In you should be able to use that volume slider to hear what you're recording over the computer's speakers.

  • I can't listen to anything!!

    Hi,
i bought Iphone4 but when i use it the speakers aren't working, i can't listen to music or hear the video effects; however, i cant talk to the people. Moreover, i bought it when i was in Vancouver on 22nd Dec, 2010 from Apple store and now i'm in Saudi Arabia and there is no apple store here to return it. So, can you help me by telling me how i can send it to you and change it by new one???

If you purchased your phone in Canada, you will have to return it to Canada for all warranty & support issues. Apple does not fix iPhones(except for back glass), thus if your phone is replaced under warranty it will only be returned to an address in Canada. That's one of the big downsides to purchasing an iPhone from a country other than the one you live in.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
Power your phone off, then back on.
    Reset.
    Restore from Backup.
    Restore as New.

  • Can AMS 'Listen' to an Existing Stream?

    Hi there,
Instead of 'pushing' a stream into AMS, can the server simply 'listen' to an existing stream and then ingest it? From there, it should simply relay back out as RTMP. Can this be done? If so, what stream formats can it 'listen' to?
For example, I have a Shoutcast stream which I would like AMS to listen to and then redistribute back out as RTMP.
Similarily I have another RTMP stream already being published...so can AMS listen to this as well?
    Thanks!

Yes AMs can subscribe to another RTMP stream and relay to further
This is sample kind of code to subscribe to remote stream.. Please look for the Stream.Play API of the server side action script.
    nc = new NetConnection();
    nc.connect("rtmp://remoteserver/live");
    stream = Stream.get("localStream");
    stream.play("remoteStream.flv", -1, -1, true, nc);
To relay it forward, use info from here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_Deving/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a0773d5 6e-7ffb.html

  • Listening Live via Safari

I can listen live to a radio station on my Windows computer but Safari won't let me do that. Any suggestions. It says to download the stream I have to have iTunes (.m3u file) and I have iTunes. Apple Support didn't have an answer but suggested I come here. I also installed the iHeartradio app but that app doesn't have the station I want.

usually radio streaming pages and websites use adobe flash to stream the media unfortunately the iPhone does not support adobe flash and never will support adobe flash.. and if its a itunes file the iPhone does not have itunes

  • Can it not possible that i can retrive it for all line items in a single qu

I have to make report for my application in which I am facing a following problem:
In the application there are multiple suppliers and each supplier having multiple line items and each item having multipale events. each evant having three status GREEN,RED and BLUE.
When a user select 'all suppliers' to show the the status time span for a supplier (i.e. for a supplier how many parts and upto how much time parts are in blue, red and green status)
to show the cumulative status time span I have to find out a event for each line item which is having nearest lower entry time from the lower part of the given time span.for this i have write following query
    SELECT * FROM parts_events
    WHERE vendorid = ? AND partid = ?
AND visible = 'visible' AND active = 1
AND entrytime = (SELECT MAX(entrytime) as
    entrytime from parts_events
    WHERE vendorid = ?
    AND partid = ?
    AND entrytime < ?
    AND visible = 'visible'
    AND active = 1)
the problem is that i have to fire this query for each line item, can it not possible that i can retrive it for all line items in a single query?

maybe if you can post some sample data and output will help us analyze more youre requirement.

Only if you have iTunes Match or of the computers are on the same local network.

  • I have an Ipod 5 and you can not listen to music unless you have headphone plugged in

I have an Ipod 5 and you can not listen to music unless you have headphones plugged in

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • Can you listen to iTunes on two computers at the same time?

If I've got iTunes playing on one computer, is it possible to listen on another computer on the same network what's playing on the first computer? I've often got two computers on the go over two floors and it would be smart if they were playing the same music at the same time. Thanks for your help.

Hi Andy, if you want to listen through remote speakers connected to an AirPort Express you can choose the remote speakers (or computer) from the pop-up menu at the bottom of the iTunes window
However, to the best of my knowledge you can only listen to iTunes through one set of speakers at a time.

  • How can I listen to music from iphone 4s via apple tv whilst doing a phone call at the same time?

How can I listen to music from iphone 4s via apple tv while doing a phone call at the same time?
When I take a call on the iphone, iphone stops streaming the music to apple tv until I finished the call.
    thx!
    Claus
PS: did ask the same question to apple hotline in germany. Answer: we don´t know... funny

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
As far as I know you can't, which sort of makes sense, it seems logical to pause whatever you are doing while you take a phone call, which after all is the primary function of a phone.

  • Can you have two phone lines?

I was just wondering if you can have two phone lines going to the same house one for home and one for business?
If yes how would they do it? Just connect another line from the telephone graph to the house?
    Many Thanks Luke

You can have as many phone lines to your house as you like: each pays rental.
I work from home so have two.
One is for phone calls only, t'other has my broadband and BTV on it.
The phone calls only has unlimited 24/7 calls; the second comes with after 1900-0700 and free weekend calls.
Shame BT are phasing out BT BB Talk; under that regime every customer has two phone number/lines on one copper/fibre connection
