Can't load I Tunes-Windows installer program missing?

When trying to load I Tunes on my PC (Windows 7 Home Premium) an error mesage stops the download. It states that "Window installer package - A program required to install could not run."

Repair your Apple Software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install

  • Can't run iTunes, Apple Application Support program missing.

Can't run iTunes, Apple Application Support program missing.  It's a brand new computer, never had iTunes installed.  I've attempted 16 installs, each time uninstalling the previous install and verifying no Apple software installed before trying again; I've also been using different browsers, still no luck.  Windows 7, 64 bit.

Try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). AAS might not install right now, but you may get a more useful error message as to why not, or it might install once the other components have been installed.

  • Unable to install iTunes 10.5 on Win 7 laptop - "Problem with Windows Installer program"

I get the following when trying to install version 10.5
I have uninstalled everything Apple, emptied temp files, restarted the computer and I'm still unable to install the lasted iTunes.
    Any thoughts?

    1. Go to softpedia.com
    2. In the search box in softpedia.com web site type in 'Windows Installer Cleanup Utility'. Click on GO
3  On the next page, at the bottom you will see in blue 'Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 2.5.0.1 by Microsoft'
4 Click on that link and it will take you to another page. On the left side you will see a 'download' button in blue colour. Click on that button and it will take you to the next page.
5 Click on link that reads: 'Softpedia Mirror (US) exe', A download window will appear. Click on 'save file'.
6 Install 'Windows Installer ClenaUp Utility' program.
7 After installing program, open up the program and scroll down the list till you find 'Apple Software Update'
8 Highlight it and click remove.
9 Now you can install itunes 10.5
This is exactly what I did and it worked for me like a charm. I even updated my iphone with IOS 5 tonight.
There is another way which I learned later which is easier and faster. I am running Windows 7. Go to 'Control Panel'. Scroll down to 'Programs and Features' and click on it. Scroll down till you see 'Apple Software Update' and right click on it and click 'uninstall' and then install itunes 10.5. That should work also. I've heard that some people can't see it in control panel so the other way would be to do as I did and download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. I hope I've made this as simple as possible for you. Good luck.

  • HT1923 Trying to remove ITunes so I can reinstall getting message from windows installer /feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable? How do I correct same message when trying to install upgrade.

Message receiving is from windows installer:the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

    Many thanks.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does it go through properly this time?

  • Can't download Safari because Windows Installer can't be accessed

Any help would be appreciated as to why by computer can't access Windows Installer?
    Thanks

Is that on a 64-bit system, john?
If so, even though it's about a different application (and even if you're on Windows 7 rather than Vista), I'd try the following document:
Vista Home Premium (x64) and installing Itunes - SOLUTION
The theory here is that last time I checked, the SafariSetup.exe installer include a 64-bit bonjour installer (for installs on 64-bit systems). So in principle, the same problem as discussed in the link can hit a Safari install (even though I'm not sure I've seen an example of it in the flesh before).

  • Can't load cs2 on windows 8

Was running photoshop cs2, got new computer running windows 8, can't load old software and can't afford new upgraded software, any versions I can download for free or CHEAP?

Just to be clear, what do you mean by; "can't load CS2"?
What happens? Do you get error messages? Does the media just not read?
    Are you aware of THIS?
It is pretty much a case-by-case basis, but I do know people running CS2 on Windows 8 under compatability mode. More info would be helpful.

  • Can't get into the Windows Installer

So, now I'm trying to boot into the Windows installer after partitioning my drive with Bootcamp Assistant. I've used this same Windows XP CD on another Intel computer in the past, as well as a real PC without any problems. However, on my Macbook Pro is just hangs right after rebooting. I have tried removing and adding the Windows partition about 4 times now, using both Disk Utility and BootCamp Assistant to no avail. I have also tried repairing permissions using Onyx. Please, any help would be GREATLY appreciated (I would even be OK with reformatting the whole **** drive destructively if need be).

I managed to get past the cursor by chance it seems, however after the initial copying of files before installation I get an error about a missing file which I know is not missing. I give up, Im going to try a complete reformat and attempt it again
EDIT: This is the same problem I am having now: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7809195

  • I can't load firefox because it says "Profile Missing- Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." Can't delete either. Help?

I have a Mac and I can't open firefox because it says "Profile Missing-Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." Then I tried to delete it by moving it to trash and it says it cannot be moved to the trash.

Create a new profile to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • I can not load i Tunes on my laptop  running    windows 7  I get a message that the installer has insufficient priveleges to access this directory  C:\Program Files\ i Tunes

I have tried reducing the pop up level on my browsers. No change.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • After Quicktime 7.6 update, can't load i-tunes, logic or quicktime

    Hello everyone.
Would really appreciate some help here.
I'm running a macbook pro (OS 10.4.11, Logic Pro 7.2.3)
In order to view some video files for a project I'm working on, I updated quicktime to 7.6.4, the latest Tiger will run (according to the apple webite). Now neither quicktime, i-tunes nor Logic will load.
I tried updating i-tunes to 9.2.1, but it still doesn't work.
Tried downgrading quicktime, but it won't let me.
Updating to Logic 8, or OS 10.5+ isn't an option at the moment. I just need a few more months out of this laptop, to finish some long-term projects.
What to do? Really stuck now.
    thanks in advance
    Guy

Did you use Disk Utility to verify your drive before installing? Did you use Disk Utility to repair permissions both before and after doing the installation? If not, you may have a corrupt drive (in which case the computer is losing track of files), or permissions are set so components couldn't be replaced or read.
Did you download the update files, or did you use Software Update to install? Many use Software Update but a lot of us prefer to have the updater safe and sound on our computer before letting it run.
Boot from your system installation disc and run Disk Utility to verify your hard drive. If necessary, run repair. Then boot from your internal disc and use Disc Utility there to repair permissions on your computer. Try re-installing the update with a downloaded version. repair permissions again.
Oh, before doing any update it is a good idea to make a bootable backup clone of your drive so you can restore again should something go wrong.

  • Can't load organizer in windows 7

Just loaded windows 7 and installed photoshop elements 9.
    Organizer is not loading.
First try I had a error 1935 and this went away after I deleted som antivirus software that came in from the net.

Update your .netframe work to version 4 (see other help posts by apple support)
Follow the instructions on this link, basically un-install everything, remove programs that says they are made by apple inc. (using add remove program)
    http://www.reimageplus.com/fix-windows-127-error/   (Many thanks to reimageplus.com)
You will also need to check and verify that the following folders have been removed:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    C:\Program Files\iPod
    C:\Program Files\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
dont forget to remove icloud also
you dont need to delete your itune music library though
If any of these folders still exist, delete them along with their contents. (if you cant delete them, right click and go to properties and then security and change the control of the fold to you)
do this for files under  program files and program file (x86) on your computer
once you have deleted everything, restart your computer. Then I repaired my registry using a registry repair program.
Important:-  instead of installing itunes I installed quick time, which installs apple application support (this is the corrupt file which is causing all the issues)
i then installed itunes and it all worked fine,
should take no longer than half hour to fix
    hope this helps

  • Can't load cc app manager or programs

I loaded a new mac Pro with a merge from an older machine and now I cannot access any CC programs that were moved.  I get a message saying that I need to reload the CC aplication manager app but when I try that the program begins to install and then I get the same message saying the CC is defective or missing and I need to download it.  I have tried to use the uninstallers but get the same message.  How do I fix this?

As well as uninstalling, you most likely need to run the Adobe cleaner
    Discussions of RE-installing
-using the cleaner after uninstalling and before reinstalling may help
