Can't load photo dvd

Hi--having trouble with the DVDs of my daughter's wedding. I can't get my new MacBook Pro to recognize the DVD as having any content. When I load one, it spins for a few minutes and then just comes back out. I can still load on my old MacBook Pro (running Snow Leopard) and my old PC. I'm wondering in there's something wrong with my disk drive or if there's something about Mountain Lion that won't read the disk. They are just jpgs. There's no software on the DVDs--just the photo files. My DVD drive works fine playing DVD movies.
Thanks!

Sounds like the optical drive. Have you tried other DVD's?

Can I load photo's from my IPad back onto my SD card through the Camera Connection Kit?

No, it only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app on the iPad, not from the iPad. You can copy photos that you've copied to the iPad via the kit to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

  • Can I load photos stored on a pc backup hardrive onto my Mac IPhoto?

Can I load photos stored on a pc backup hardrive onto my Mac IPhoto?

You can indeed.  Simply drag the folder containing the images (or the images themselves) from the hard drive to the iPhoto icon in the dock (same one you click on to open iPhoto.  This will cause iPhoto to start importing whatever you drag in.
    Two suggestions:
Have a backup of your current library before you do the import just in case iPhoto encounters a corrupt file during import which might damage your existing library of images:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
Import the images in small batches if there are many of them.  That way if there is an error with one of the images during import you can easily identify where the bad image is coming from.

The folks in the iPhoto community forum wait for questions like this. In any case from iPhoto select your photos. Then select export. Navigate to your USB sick and that's it.

  • Can I load photos from iMac onto iPad2 model A1395?

Can I load photos from iMac onto iPad2 model A1395?  The model A1395 is described as "wi-fi only" and has a 30 pin connector for charging.
[By contrast, this is NOT the iPad2 model A1396, which is described as "Wi-Fi/GMS/GPS AT&T" or the Model A1397, which is described as "Wi-Fi/CDMA/GPS Verizon". Nor is it the model A1337, described as "Wi-Fi/3G/GPS (Original)".]
Wi-Fi only seems to me to have an ominous ring to it.  I am synching with my iPhone through the iCloud, if that is of any use.
In addition, I should note that the photo files I want to look at in the iPad are large files, a little over 100 MB in JPEG format.  The desire is to display the whole image (these are archival photos of heirloom quilts) and then be able to focus in on specific details (by enlrging them so that the stitching and other details can be seen).  I mention this because I tthink there may be some 30 MB limit on the size of a file that the iPAD can handle.  Would I be able to examine a larger file (but perhaps npot as large as 100 MB) if I had 64 MB memory in the iPad?

WiFi only refers to the fact that the iPad connects to the Internet via WiFi because it does not have cellular capability. That has nothing to do with the ability to put photos on the device.
Sync the photos from the Mac via iTunes.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Select the folder from which your photos are located in the Sync Photos From Heading. If you use iPhoto - select that or navigate to the specific photos folder on the Mac.
If you use iPhoto, select all of the albums, or events that you want to sync. If you use another photos folder, you can select one level of sub folders within that main folder.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
Having 64GB of storage also has nothing to do with the ability to view the photos on the iPad since that refers to storage capacity. However, the larger the storage capacity, the more photos the iPad will be able to hold.
I know of no limit on the size that a photo needs to be in order to be viewable on the iPad.
If you use iCloud, you can sync photos that you shoot on the iPd and iPhone across devices via Photo Stream, but it just be turned on for this to work. Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream on. Any photos that you take on one device after photo stream is turned on, will sync to the other device.

  • Can't load photo book after crash

Hello, after spending 2+ hours creating a photo book, my mac suddenly crashed, I think due to the high temperature of the computer. The iPhoto application was still running when the computer shut down. After rebooting, I can't load my photo book anymore. The application says "Loading Book", but it stays like this forever.
Is it possible to recover, at least partially, the work that I was doing? Is there an actual "photo book" file somewhere in the computer?
Thank you... I'm quite frustrated right now.

In the future you could do what I do: create a new library for each book I make. I assemble the photos in my primary library into an album and move that album to the book library with iPhoto Library Manager. That makes for a smaller library which can be easier to backup and archive for use and ordering additional copies at a later date: Old Toad's Tutorial #9a - Archiving an iPhoto 7/8 Book for Use/Editing/Ordering at a Later Date.

  • I just discovered that I can't load photos and music to my iPhone.

I have loaded a bunch of photos of my recent trip to my new iPhone only to find out that I can't load music to the phone without erasing the photos. Is there a workaround  to this?

I loaded the photos through iTunes from iPhoto, the folder is on my computer in iPhotos. And still checked in iTunes.  Here is the exact message I get when I click on "Synch Music":
Are you sure you want to sync music? All existing content on the iPhone “Arthur Fenster’s iPhone” will be removed and replaced with songs and playlists from your iTunes library.
Maybe I am misinterpreting but it sounds like "existing content" means the photos, which can be put back on but then I suspect the music will be replaced.

  • OS X Won't Boot, Can't Load Install DVD

For the last couple of days my mac has been really buggy, hanging, slow boot speed etc.
Until finally yesterday it simply failed to load into OS X.
So I tried the trusted unplug it for a few minutes, I zapped the PRAM, I tried safe mode, I did a hardware test on startup and that was fine. I've tried booting into the install DVD using 'C' and by using Options and selecting it on boot up menu. Sometimes it has limped into the OS where I removed everything in startup, repaired permissions and tried to verify the hard disk, where it said there was an error. I tried to get the install dvd to restart the computer and get into Time Machine but that just hangs, any ideas? I have a fairly recent backup, does Time Machine backup ALL my stuff? Music, Mail personal documents etc?
    Cheers
    A now bald Tristan

If Disk Utility has told you there are problems with the drive, you must repair them. You didn't mention trying that, you just said you tried to use Time Machine while booted from the install disk. Try booting from the install disk, running Disk Utility from there and clicking the Repair Disk button.
If the disk can't be repaired, you can try a more powerful utility, like [DiskWarrior|http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/index.html] or [TechTool Pro|http://www.micromat.com>. If those don't work, you'll have to just erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch (or restore from a backup).
Note that, even if you repair the problems, files have probably already become corrupt, thus causing the problems you've been experiencing. You may end up having to reinstall anyway, even if repairs are successful, and it would be wise to be cautious with backups, as corruption could have crept into them.

  • Can't load photo's in iPhoto after installing and trying to print with an epson xp-610

have installer Yosemite and then a Epson XP-610 now photos won't load in iPhoto have loading circle,  in iPhoto screen

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How can I load photos on a new iPad for a customer?

Now this is something that I've done before. But iOS has gone through some changes since then, and now I can't remember what to do.
Basically, I have a new iPad which was purchased for a customer. I need to load some photos on the iPad for the customer, then give to to them to do whatever they're going to do with it. Trouble is, I seem to remember being able to do this through iPhoto in the past, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. Now it seems you have to go through iTunes, which means setting it up with my iTunes account, which I don't want to do.
So, my question is, what is the best way to load these photos onto the iPad so that when the client sets things up they won't lose the images. Can I just set things up as usual, then manually sign out of my iTunes account on the iPad?

I'd really suggest you not try to do this. An iPad can only be synched to a single computer, so if you sync the iPhotos on your system (and synching has always been done through iTunes), when your customer takes the iPad to his/her own computer and syncs, it will erase the content (i.e. photos) you put on the iPad.
There may be workarounds, but I'd strongly suggest you just let the customer sync the photos him/herself. That's going to be a lot less headache.
    Regards.

  • Can't load photos into iphoto 6

Have many hundreds of small Sony Mavica cd-r discs that will not import into iphoto and cannot be read by Preview. Disc is read by external Qfire cdrw drive and files are displayed on desktop but each time I try to open a .jpg photo file it states:"Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt of a file format that Preview doesn't recognize." These discs work fine in a Sony Vaio but get the same results in both my new Imac and and older G5 with internal DVD drive. This same G5 connected to the Qfire drive operating on OS9.4 worked fine until I updated it to OS X 10. Any ideas as to why the discs won't open on the new IMac w/ OS X 10.4.9?

    Massbody:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. As I remember from posts a while ago those discs and formats are not compatible with the Mac. Do a search fror Sony Mavica here in the Mac forums and see what you find. I don't remember if any solution was found or discussed.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • B209a can't load photo paper?

I've had my B209a for just over a year, in that time I've only printed half a dozen or so photos using the genuine HP glossy photo paper, they worked ok. Normal printing is ok, all genuine ink used.
But today I wanted to print 10 or so 6X4 photos, and when the printer is loading the paper it starts printing before the paper is in the right place, so I miss an inch of the top of the photo, and have an extra inch of blank white space at the bottom. I 've tried it 4 times now and don't wat to keep wasting ink+paper, they all came out bad.
It's obviously the printer thinking the paper is i nthe right place when it's not, but can't find an online solution or fix to my problem
    Ideas please?

    Reset the printer:
While printer is powered ON, pull the power cord from the printer then from the wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to wall and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power up’ and restore the printer to a known good condition (if it is possible). No user settings are lost with a ‘hard reset’.
    then try printing photos again.
    * your printer only accomodates maximum of 20 photo papers

  • Can't load application dvd

I reformatted my 13" macbook pro I got October 2009. The os installed perfectly but the application dvd will not even read. I tried the dvd in my mac mini and it loaded just fine. The DVD will not even load to view any of the files. Is there a test I can do to check the drive or something. I am a recent convert to mac and already have two computers. I need the imovie on the laptop. For what it is worth I also tried the mac mini disk in the laptop and got the same result. All disks work fine in the mac mini.

    1) Make sure the DVD is scrupulously clean. the drives in "notebook"macs can be more sensitive to such things that those in other computers.
    2) Run a cleaning disc in your MBP or take it to Apple for assessment of the drive. Dirty drives account for a vast proportion of DVD reading and writing problems. A cleaning disc will probably fix it, but Apple will usually simply replace any drive that doesn't do the job while under warranty.

  • How can I load photos back from iPhoto to my iPhone?

I had an iPhone 5s that had 64GB of storage.  I had a lot of music and photos on it.  So much so, that I maxed out the storage capacity.  My only solution was to remove something.  So I decided to offload some of my old photos.  I used iPhoto to move some of my older photos to my laptop in order to free up space on my iPhone.  Since then however, I have purchased an iPhone 6 (128GB) and storage is not as much of an issue.  My question is... How can I add my photos back to my iPhone in the same order that they were before I offloaded them to my laptop?  When I have tried to get the photos back on my iPhone, they are added as new photos with today's date and they do not sort correctly.

    Hello PMorrisJr,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you have imported photos from your previous iPhone into iPhoto, and now you would like to sync them back in the order they were taken to your new iPhone.  Regardless if you are syncing albums, events or the entire iPhoto Library, the photos do sync over with the same photo date that appears in iPhoto.

  • Can I make photo DVD with Photoshop Elements 8?

I was just wondering if I could take my photos and create a "movie" with different songs and transition effects and burn it to a DVD with this software, and also export it to different sites such as YouTube... Thanks!

There is no direct support in PSE for burning conventional DVD’s but you could create a WMV file and edit in Windows Movie Maker or similar software or export from PSE to Windows DVD Maker if using windows Vista.
