Can't load songs onto new Ipod

Can someone please help me. I had to return my Ipod and get a new one due to it being faulty. Now when I try to load my music onto the new one it will not copy all of my songs. Any idea on how to get this done?

hi Sherry!
Now when I try to load my music onto the new one it will not copy all of my songs.
does the synch seem to go perfectly successfully, but some songs just don't transfer? if so, try the advice given here:
Scott Patrie, "iTunes won't transfer purchased music to iPod", 07:24pm Oct 7, 2004 CDT
but if you're getting an error message, or your connection seems to quit after a while, please describe the situation in a bit more detail. (include any error message numbers if you're getting any.)

  • Can I load songs onto my ipod nano (7G) from the cloud without downloading it to my PC?

I just bought a 7G nano.  All of my songs are in the cloud.  My computer has little space for my large collection of music, podcasts, and videos.  I just bought a couple of albums and they went directly to my ipod when I synced.  The rest of my library, however, was left in the cloud and didn't make it to my ipod.  The only way I can tell to transfer my music from the cloud to my ipod is to download it from the cloud to my PC.  Is there a way to bypass my PC and go directly to my ipod?

You will need that library copied from the old computer. If not, then you can take a look at this in getting 3rd party software to recover your library from the iPod. Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

  • Can't Download Songs Onto New Ipod Nano

I have had Itunes on my computer for 1-2 years and use it with my Ipod Shuffle & my brother's Ipod Mini & have no problems. I just bought an Ipod Nano & am having trouble with it. The instruction manual I received with it does not help me @ all. I received one CD with it & ran the only setup file from the CD that I could fine & it acted like it installed ok.
I updated Itunes today to the latest version.
When I plug the nano up to my computer using the USB cable, it shows on the ipod screen that it is connected, and a box pops up on my computer that asks me what I want to do, but it does not give me an option to open Itunes.
When I open Itunes manually (with the nano connected), it shows no recognition of the nano.
I tried to drag songs directly to the nano file (under the "E" drive) & the computer showed the songs downloaded under the file, but the nano still showed no songs on it.
Any Suggestions???!! I'm lost..Thanks so much!!

hi...convert your cd songs the format itunes for ipod is using..it should do the trick...mp3's are also supported aside from m4a.

  • I can't load songs onto my iPod nano after updating to the latest iTunes!

It just won't let me drag and drop songs like I used to be able to and when I go into the other option it tries to syc the whole library and delete what I've already got on it and I don't want to do that.

    Hi thomas-paton,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the most recent iTunes update. If you are having issues dragging individual files to your iPod nano when connected in iTunes, you may want to make sure that the "Manually manage music and videos" option is selected, as outlined in the following article:
Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support

  • Put old ipod library songs onto new ipod???

I just got a new ipod today. How do i transfer my itunes library (my songs from my old ipod) onto my new ipod w.o the itunes library getting erased?
    thanks so much

I have the exact same question. I had an old 60GB ipod phot and just bought the newer ipod. I have about 30 GB of music on my old ipod including about 100.00 worth of audiobooks. I was hoping there was a way to let the new ipod sync with my old library once I get it. is this possible? I can import my 300+ CDs again (wich takes about a week), but some of the purcahsed music, including the 100.00 worth of audiobooks might be tricky.
Any help on this would be great. I hope I can magically just plug my new ipod into my itunes and have it upload the 30+GB of music without having to put another 2 weeks of labor in. PLEASE tell me this is possible! Thanks for your time in replying.

  • I Can't Put Songs Onto My iPod Touch!

whenever i go onto iTunes and try to put songs onto my iPod using the click and drag method i get this message - 'the iPod "George's iPod" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to'. What can i do? Please, anyone, even a guess will do...
By the way i have the latest version of iTunes and the latest system thing on my Touch.

I have seen this article listed on many requests for help. I have tried these fixes but the iTouch will get about 200 songs into the sync and then will give the same message. I have successfully synced the iTouch to my laptop (Vista system)but that is not the primary computer for the touch. Are there any other ideas/solutions?

  • I Can't Put Songs Onto My iPod

It just sits there not putting any songs onto my iPod and then comes up with a message that it doesn't work. Please someone help this is getting very annoying!

How about the problems in iTunes 5? Are they better now?
    hello Mr Bond!
apologies for the late reply ... during the early weeks of the 5.0x launches, my email went down and i wasn't getting any notification of replies to my posts. at that stage, i was pretty much trapped in "Installations & Upgrades" so i couldn't get out to my other favorite forums to check for replies to any of my posts ... i'm currently working through a backlog of 500 unanswered email notifications, saw your post, and decided to take the opportunity to have a chat.
update from our last communications. traffic levels are certainly down in Installations and Upgrades. our primary concerns over there at the moment are probably the nastier versions of the QuickTime 1402, and the newer variations on "the software required for communicating ..." and "Ipod Service Error". I'm taking this (in a perverse way) as a good sign. these were rarer sorts of errors at the height of the madness. so when the discussions are being dominated by the rarer sorts of errors, it suggests we've got a good handle on the other 5.0.x installation problems.
the "general mood" of the forum is still a little more bitter than in the 4.9 days. but it has improved considerably over the past couple of weeks. (however, giving helpful and descriptive titles to posts and threads still seems to be a lost art over there ... i'm not entirely sure why.)
i am hoping that i shall
    b not
exceed your tally of posts any time soon. i actually find it a little disturbing that i have passed both Buegie and StarDeb recently. back in my early days of posting, i used to wonder "how on earth does anyone accumulate 4000 posts?" ...

  • Loading songs onto same iPod, different computers

Can you load your iPod from different computers (iTunes installed on both)? When I tried to load some new stuff from a different location, it says it's linked to another iTunes library, do I want to replace what's on the iPod with the new library (something like that). Will this wipe out all my current songs on my ipod?

    Yes it will.
Sadly you can't change the settings inside iTunes until the iPod is connected... the default setting is to automatically update the connected iPod with the computer's music library.
However, it is possible to do, although a little unconventional and would probably not be something apple would recommend...I have done it several times with no effect to the iPod.
    Connect it to your computer
As soon as iTunes recognises it, change the settings so that you manually update iPod, then...
manually disconnect your iPod without ejecting it
Wait for a few moments and...
    Bob is your uncle!
Reconnect and manually update at your own leisure keeping your old tunes

  • Itunes screen freezes when trying to load songs in new ipod shuffle

I just bought an ipod shuffle for my mother but when I try to load songs from itunes, the screen just seems to freeze until I disconnect shuffle.
I tried to restore it but it doesn't work ("error 1418" is all I can get).
I don't understand why since I have no problem with my ipod nano on the same computer.

Be sure to use a rear port on your Shuffle, it needs full power to work.

  • Can't change songs on new ipod in iTunes

I just went from a first gen iPod to a 5th gen, and I notice that I used to be able to edit the pod's playlist in itunes. Now, when I try to go directly to the new ipod's playlist, everything's greyed out. It's there, but greyed out. What's this all about? I want to have special playlists on my iPod. Thanks!

"when I try to go directly to the new ipod's playlist, everything's greyed out. It's there, but greyed out"
Grey text when you look at the content and a lock symbol at the bottom of the screen just indicates that the iPod is set to update automatically (sync). If you want to access the iPod directly, delete songs from the iPod, drag songs from iTunes etc. you need to change the update setting to "manually manage songs and videos. If you want to manage it manually then connect your iPod and click on the iPod icon in the iTunes source list to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. In the Summary tab check the box "manually manage music and videos" and click Apply:
    Managing content manually on iPod
    iPod 101: Fill 'er Up
Something to remember about using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on the desktop and check this link for alternative methods:: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • Can I load "Pages" onto new hard drive without having to pay for it again?

I have a 5 yr old Mac that just had it's hard drive replaced.  I had paid for and loaded Pages onto the original hard drive.  Wondering if there's any way to load Pages onto my new hard drive without having to pay for the program again.  Thanks so much

If you originally installed Pages from a CD or DVD, reinstall it from there.
If you installed Pages from the Mac App Store, yes, from the Apple ID you purchased it with.
If you got Pages from the iTunes App Store, the Mac version of it is a separate purchase.

  • Cannot transfer songs onto new IPod.

OK, just got the 60GB IPod. When I try to load my library on it, the ITunes says it is transferring them. I watch it go on and on saying they are loading...then when it is over....nothing on my IPod. Actually, a few songs make it, not all. When I go into ITunes, under the source menu and select my IPod, it shows as if all the songs are on there. I tried deleting the software and reinstalling it for both the IPod and ITunes, and same result.
What can I do? Also, when it says how much capacity my IPod has, it comes out to 114 GB or so......strange.
    Help!!!!

    See this.
    Strange iPod behavior.

I've been using (quite successfully) Videora iPod Converter and it works so well it blew my mind the first time I used it. Of course I'm a bit of a power user, but the normal mode is so handy I can't help but to use it. Not sure if it works on a mac though. I tried to look, but couldn't find anything that explicitly says mac.
