Can't locate iphotos that have been edited in Photoshop

I use iPhoto 9 to store and edit most photos, but on occasion, use Photoshop CS4 as the external editor. When I save a photo that has been edited in PS, it indicates that it is saving it to it's original iPhoto album, but when I look in the album, it's not there. Where did it go? My workflow is to option-click the photo in the iPhoto browser and select "edit in external editor". The photo then pops up in PS and I edit it. When it comes time to save, I select "save as" and rename the photo. The destination is listed as its original iPhoto album, so I press "save". The photo is saved somewhere, but I can't find it.
Rick

When it comes time to save, I select "save as" and rename the photo.
'Save As' is another cause of the issue.
Note that iPhoto sends a copy of the file to Photoshop, This copy is created by iPhoto and iPhoto tracks it and works with it. If you use Save As then you're creating a new file with Photoshop and iPhoto has no way of knowing about this new file.
Iphoto is preserving your original file anyway, so the Save As is redundant.
Don't use Save As, don't rename the file and there'll be no problem.

Error message when compiling book "file is corrupt" referring to a photo.  Or "cannot find original photo".  Can you use photos that have been "edited" out of "Book Mode"?

I did copy it to my desktop, but it still won't let me open it.  I think the file on the disc might be corrupt or something like that though the cd itself checks out fine as far as viruses go.  I was able to verify the disc, but that's about it.  My husband tried it on his iMac and we have the same issue.  It's unzipping the folder, but won't let us open the folder on both the Mac Book Pro or the iMac by double clicking, going to file/open or right clicking.  It just keeps saying the same message as I posted above.  I think I'm just going to have the client put the pictures on either a memory card or a USB memory stick so she won't have to compress the files for zipping purposes.  It's been too frustrating trying to open this folder on this cd she gave me.  She said she created/zipped the cd on her Mac Book Pro but it sure won't open on mine.

  • Is there a way to import images that have been edited and assign them to the original?

I am transitioning to mac and aperture. Is there a way to import images that have been edited and assign them to the original? I have 10,000 originals and about 2,000 edited images. The originals are named img_XXXX and anything modified img_XXXX_modified. I would like to be able to import the originals and then import the edited versions and assign them to the original masters. Instead of starting from here and going forward with 12,000 masters, some of which are actual originals and others not. Thanks for the help.

Ah, the vestiges of a destructive workflow! Once you "get" Aperture, (specifically Masters and Versions) you are going to love it, as all of this work goes away - the relationship that you seek to retain is automatic in Aperture; it is simply done differently.
The short answer to your question is EVERY image file that is Imported into Aperture will create a new Master and one Version. Assuming that your images are PSD/TIFF/JPEG that you created in something like Photoshop, then each one that your import will be a new Master. You have many options:
-- Stick the originals in one Project(s) and the edited versions in another Project(s).
-- Stick them all in the same Project(s) and "Stack" them.
But here is the real question: Why are you doing all of this work and what are you trying to accomplish? Seems you are trying to preserve old things that don't need preserving in a non-destructive workflow.
So, what is most valuable to you?
-- The original, out of camera files? (That is, the fear/need to revert.)
-- The edited versions? (That is the hours of work that it took you to get there.)
If the former, import the originals and ignore the edited versions. (Either simply leave them out on disk or import them into their own Projects which you ignore.) Use Aperture to recreate the work you had done previously. This will always give you the ability to revert to the original Master and create as many Versions as you want. This is the best idea if your edits are relatively simple crops and exposure adjustments,
If the latter, then import the edited versions and do as above with the originals. This makes more sense if your work uses lots of layers and, perhaps lots of clone tool type corrections.
Of course, you can do a bit of both.
Others may have better suggestions, but you will find it easy to answer your own question when you understand an image based, as opposed to a file based, non-destructive workflow.
    Good luck!

  • Can you retreive emails that have been deleted

Can you retreive emails that have been deleted??

Some phones use a "Trash Folder" system so you can retreive deleted emails within a certain window of time.  I am not sure on the Bionic.
Also you could possibly retreive your mail directly from your email providers server. Example I use charter email, so I would contact charter communications, gmail is Google so you would contact Google, etc.
    Good luck.

  • Can I retrieve contacts that have been deleted?

Can I retrieve contacts that have been deleted?

You posted this in the BlackBerry space, so I am assuming you have a BlackBerry of some sort... if you've used desktop manager or BB Protect or another backup application, then you can retrieve contacts from the most recent backup.
Otherwise, you may be out of luck, unless their information is in your recent call list, or recent texts.
I use BB Protect to make automatic backups of my data each week, (with no interaction needed by me, it just happens) so if something goes crazy, I have, at most, a week's worth of new stuff to enter.  BB Desktop manager also makes backups, manually - you need to connect the phone to your computer via USB and make a backup, or restore from a backup.

  • How can i delete photos that have been synced from my computer to my i-pad?

I want to delete photos that have been copied from my computer to my i-pad,i can delete albums but not phots?

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need to remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

  • How do i open iPhoto library to see photos that have been edited?

All my photos and changes to photos are apparently utomatically saving to iphoto library. How do i see these photos? Can i right click iphoto library and open and view the photos both edited and unedited?
Then can i save those photos to a flash drive or another folder?
As most of you know, if you double click on iphoto library, iPhoto will just open which is why its tough to find out where these actual files are.

There are no edited photos, essentially.
When you make a change to an image that decision is recorded in the database. So the edit is actually the Original photo+the change. To actually get an edited photo you need to export it.
There are two main ways to do this:
    1. Using the File -> Export command which has a large number of options for what and where to export.
    2. Use a Media Browser -  this produces a file with the current version of the image.
So, if you're using Powerpoint you access the iPhoto images from Powerpoint via the Media Browser. You access this in PP by using the Insert menu.

  • How can I force iMovie to reload photos that have been edited?

I put a movie together in iMovie and used many photos. Later I decided to edit some of them. I did that on my PC and resynced my photo library on my iPad2. When I go back into iMovie, it's still showing the old versions of the photos (pre-editing), which no longer exist. So the old versions must be cached somewhere. Is there a way to force iMovie to reload all of the photos.  I tried loading another iMovie project then going back, but that didn't help. I also had iMovie export the movie to the camera roll, thinking that it my reload the photos during that process, but that didn't work either.

Just to be clear, iMovie is still showing old versions of photos that no longer exist in the iPad's Photo Library.

  • How can I access songs that have been uploaded to my iCloud with itunes Match on a different (work) PC?

I have logged in with Itunes Match on my work PC, but after 'gathering information about itunes' Itunes Match says the maximum songs that can be uploaded that were not purchased in itunes is 25000 and iMatch stops. All I want to do is have access and the ability to download songs that iMatch has already uploaded to iCloud from my home PC.
    Please Help

Place that first folder of photos that you synced to the iPad within the main folder of photos that you sync from and select them to sync again. You can place any number of subfolders within the main folder that you sync from and select those folders to sync. Just "tick"(select) the folders in the photos tab in iTunes.

  • How can I store passwords that have been deleted

I had usernames and passwords stored for several e-mail accounts on the same site. These were accidentally removed from the saved passwords list, and now I cannot get Firefox (23.0) to remember them again. I do have password saving enabled (behind a master password), and this site does not appear on the 'exceptions list.' In the Manage Password utility, there is no facility to add new passwords, only remove them. It seems, once removed, Firefox assumes one will never want to save this site again.
I'm in and out of these accounts literally dozens of times per day, and now have to log in manual every single time. How can I get Firefox to save these username/password combinations for me again?

now that you have saved the passwords again, you can remove the addon. it (or the bookmarklet) is not necessary for subsequent visits if the password is already stored in the password manager.

  • Opening b&w photos on a windows pc that have been edited on a mac

    Hello
I have changed colour photos on my mac to b&w using photoshop elements. I have saved them as JPEG.
When my cients try to open the photos on a windows pc the b&w ones will not open, but the colour ones will. Can anyone help me with this problem???
    Thankyou!

The Mac either corrupted the JPG metadata or saved the photos with an invalid end-of-file marker.
See if your clients can open the photos with the free XnView viewer:

I frequently receive animations from family and friends via MMS message but they display on my X10mini Pro as static images. Why is this and what can be done about it?

Hi. It may be that the animation that is being sent is not compatible with your handset. Unfortunately there would be no settings on the handset you could change to allow this to be viewed.
