Can't locate iweb folder in application support

I cant locate the iweb folder inapplication support, I’m trying to find the domain file but I’ve haven't succeed.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files  Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

  • I can't find iweb folder in application support

    Hi
I formatted my macbook. Before format I back up domain.sites2.
Now I want to import domain.sites2 to new macbook (I mean formatted macbook)
I read forums and I saw that I have to copy+ paste this file to  library/application support/iweb
But there is no iweb folder in application support.
I double clicked domain.sites2 while located in desktop; İweb opened but I can't see my older pages.
    Please help me
    Engin

Leave the old domain file in the iWeb folder and use the following app to see if it will let you open that particular domain file.
To open your domain file in Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script"/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"
    delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
Due to Sandboxing by the operating system you may get a message that the app can't be opened because it's from an unregistered developer. In that case you can Control (right) - click on the app and select Open from the contextual menu OR create your own app from the code above using Applescript Editor.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible in Lion or Mt. Lion enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For Mavericks, 10.9 ,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
You only need to run the app once or if you want to open a different domain file.

  • Can't find firefox folder in application support

    Hi,
I'm trying to recover my passwords and bookmarks from an external hard disk. I use time machine and I am going to the latest back up. However, there is no firefox folder in the Library/ApplicationSupport folder. I can see 'mozilla' but there is nothing there. I had firefox on my computer, that's the browser I always use. Where can my firefox folder be? Or is there any other place can I get my passwords and bookmarks from in this case?
    Thank you,
    marta

Note that there may be two Library/ApplicationSupport folders.
You need the one in your user account (~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/) and not the one at the root level (/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/).
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show in Finder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.
    */Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/

  • Can't create new folder to Applications in standard account

    Hi.
As I have two accounts one admin account and other standard account and last time it didn’t work in both.
So I just restored factory settings like described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3910
    This fixed the problem.
Now again I can't create new folder to applications but this time it doesn’t work only in my standard account but it does work in admin account.
Previously I downloaded this program to open pdb files :http://www.loghound.com/pordible/
But it didn't work for me so I removed it to Trash. That's when I noticed that the new folder icon in applications isn't active but I can't be sure that this caused it.
I used Disc Utility to repair my macbook pro hard disk using Mac OS X Install DVD but it didn't fix the problem.
Is there any way to fix this problem without restoring factory settings again?

I think either way should work OK - it's less of a security risk to use a standard account for "everything", including web browsing, but I confess I don't myself do this. You would again have to authenticate with an admin username/password if you do download and install from the standard account.
Whichever way you do it, this article may be relevant:
*About file quarantine in Mac OS X v10.5 and v10.6*
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3662
    It includes the following:
If you have multiple user accounts on your Mac, the user account that downloaded the file is the only user account that can remove the quarantine attribute to the file. All other user accounts can open the quarantine file, but they will be presented with the quarantine dialog box asking "Are you sure you want to open it?" every time they open the file.

  • Can't see the "keynote" folder in application supports iwork

I'm trying to uninstall some purchased themes that I don't like. As instructed, I followed the path library>application supports>iwork>keynote>theme. However, I can't see the "keynote" folder, although I showed hidden files. There is only the "pages" folder in that "iwork" folder. Can anyone please help me out?

There are 3 Libraries on the computer. Go to Macintosh HD > Library > application support > iwork > Keynote > themes.

  • MIssing folder Library/Application Support/iCal folder

Hope this is in the correct discussion!
This folder is missing from my MBP. On Time Machine, I can't find it and have gone back to March 2012 when TM starts.
Does it create itself and what data would it hold?
I've lost all my iCal calendars and have a back up at 18/7/12. I've restored Library/Calendars but the entries don't show up in iCal. I'm told I need to restore Library/Application Support/iCal folder, but it's not there.
I've created a current entry (in a new calendar) but still no Library/Application Support/iCal folder.
Should I be trying to create it manually, somehow I don't think so?
    Thanks for any help.

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and provide ~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Keynote/Themes/ as the path.

  • I've installed Firefox but don't have the Firefox folder in Application Support (but I need to access this to edit my profile since Firefox won't open)

Online troubleshooting tells me I have to go into my profile to edit something in order to get Firefox to launch. For now, it's telling me that only one copy of Firefox can be open at once. However, I don't have the Firefox folder in my Application Support, even though I've installed Firefox.

I get the same thing with Firefox, IE8, Opera, and Safari. It isn't a Firefox only problem.
Are you new to that webhosting service? <br /> Have you ever uploaded web pages to that same web hosting service previously, pages that worked after an upload? <br /> Are those pages listed as ''' "public" ''' pages in your web hosts control panel?
My suggestion is to "download" your homepage and associated files & images from your PC, up to the server, using your web hosts control panel and see how that works.
Beyond that, I suspect that you might have missed an important setting in Dreanweaver for uploading to the web host's server. You might try asking about this issue at a Dreamweaver support forum.

  • No Logic folder at Application support folder

    Hi,
Related to the following article, I want to move my logic content to an external harddrive.
    http://music.tutsplus.com/articles/how-and-why-to-move-your-logic-pro-x-sound-li braries-to-an-external-drive--audio-19567
1st question: There is no HD/library folder on my harddrive. The only library folder I got is HD/user/username/library
Is this normal? Becaus in the youtube video in the article there is.
2nd question: I don't find the logic folder in HD/user/username/library/application support
And I need it to move my content? Does mavericks have a different location for logic?
I'm runing Mavericks OSX version 10.9.2
I installed all of logic additional content.
Please help! I'm looking in to this for hours.

At the root level of your hard drive folder, you should see a folder simply named "Library" - inside that you will find an "Application Support" folder:
You just double-click the name of your boot folder (usually "Macintosh HD" unless you've named it something else) and you'll find the Library folder.

  • Missing Address Book Folder in Application Support

I've been having problems with my Address Book for a long time, now. Ever since my friend accidentally synced his iPhone with my computer and merged all our contacts. I had gone in and deleted the contacts, but the program has been buggy. As it stands, there are 0 Cards in my Address Book.
I loaded the BETA for Face Time for Mac to see how it worked, knowing that I had nothing in my Address Book. Or so I thought. The BETA application pulled names from way back when my friend had all his contacts on my computer, and my old ones, but they aren't around!!
I started looking around for what could be wrong, and realised the folder for Address Book in the Application Support folder is missing (i.e. ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/)... What do I do?
    Please help.

Thanks for the "helpful" star feedback.

Is there an option for us non-Time Machine users?
I am getting an external hard-drive this winter, but I don't have one yet. So a solution other than that is ideal.
    (1) Instead of Time Machine, you could restore your contacts from other backups you use. Moreover, there is no requirement for the backup files to be on a hard drive.
      http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1553
Even if you do not backup your entire startup disk, you will want backups of any important, expensive, or irreplaceable files plus those shown in this Apple article:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8771.html
    (2) If you have no backup, the only way I know to get your Address Book contact info back is to recreate it.
As soon as you re-enter your Address Book info, use the Address Book > File > Export... > Address Book Archive... menu command to create an archive.
The archive can be used to restore your data should the problem occur again. Rather than recreating the entire Address Book database, you can restore the archive and will then need to recreate only the changes since the archive was created.
Typical Address Book archives are only a few megabytes, so, in addition to keeping a copy in your Documents folder, you can save an extra copy on another computer, writable CD or DVD, or even Flash (jump) drive. To safeguard against loss due to hard disk crash, it is vital that you keep your principal backup/archive somewhere other than your startup disk. I think you can see that more than one copy on more than one media is a good idea.
I am slow on the keyboard, so I recreate my archive monthly in addition to Time Machine and the other backups I keep.

  • Itunes can't locate root folder on ext HD

Having solved half of my problem, I started a new thread for this problem. I now have Itunes not able to find the root folder on my external hard drive (f:) I have located Itunes library in several different locations on my C:, everywhere from My Music, my documents\my music, on my F:,etc. The only place where I can actually locate and access the complete updated list of music is when I have the F: connected, under the following path: C:\Documents and Settings\all users\Documents\Itunes library\itunes music.
How do I get the Itunes to find the path anytime I click on a particular song without having to re-enter each song? Katrina S. has been a great help getting me to this point, but I lose myself in the different threads from others. I know I am a few steps away... Please help

  • Can't locate files/folder

About a month ago I took my G5 to an Apple store when visiting family in Orlando. We live about 6 hours away, where there is no Apple store nearby. The tech at the Genius bar solved a simple problem for me, then offered to cleanup my desktop, which contained about 25 various folders, as well as my #1 HD and my #2 HD. Me not being very tech savvy, just let him do so, not noticing where he was putting the folders. I guess he created another folder for all of them. He dragged a box around several of the folders at a time, placing them all in the same place, I assume. But with those folders, he also placed my #2 HD, which is the one I was operating in, that had several of my photoshop actions that I use as a photographer. I have called the store, but since I don't know the tech's name, I have had no help. My husband and I both have searched everywhere we could think of...spotlight, all my applications, documents, etc. Any ideas?

Have you looked inside the Utilities folder?
Download WhatSize. It will show the location of every file on your comp.
"I have called the store, but since I don't know the tech's name, I have had no help."
If you still have your repair receipt, I would call the store again & give them the information off of the receipt.

  • Can't locate Private folder to delete files

After getting a warning that my startup disk was almost full, I discovered that the reason was one very large folder that contained most of the contents of a previous computer. I had put it there three years ago when I bought this MacBook  and forgotten all about it. The folder  showed up on the left side of the finder and on the desktop. I put both icons in the trash and emptied it. The folders disappeared but the disk remained almost full.
Disk Inventory X tells me that I now have 129 GB in a folder called Private. Inside that folder, Var contains the 129 GB, then Log has 126.6 GB, and finally system.log.1 (89.1 GB) and system.log.0 (35.7 GB) are the apparent culprits. I don't know how I can have 124.8 GB of messages, but given that the hard disk has a capacity of 150 GB, this is obviously the reason it is still almost full. Somehow my deletion of this morning seems to have generated a mass of log messages in its wake.
But how to erase them? I can't find any hint of their existence in Finder or Spotlight.

I've solved this. After I posted I followed a suggested item that came up on the right of the screen and discovered all I had to do was   *Go to Folder*. Type /private/var/. This led me to the rogue files (which in fact were not created today, but recently) and delete them.
Of course, I don't know what created them in the first place, so I may not be out of the woods yet.

  • I need help importing Thunderbird folders into Apple Mail. I can't locate the folder files for thunderbird. OS Mountain Lion.

I have been using Thunderbird as an email client, but recently realized Apple Mail is a really good alternative and would like to change. However, I would like to preserve my existing Thunderbird email history and folder structure in Apple Mail. Apple Mail includes an import Mailboxes process, but when I try, I cannot locate the files I want to import from Thunderbird. They appear to be hidden. I haven't been able to determine if OS 10 hides files and how to make them visible.

All of your TBird mail files are located in ~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/XXX.default. The library folder is hidden in Mountain Lion by default. To make it visible open the terminal app in your utilities folder and type "chflags nohidden ~/Library" without the quotes.
