Can't log in or change password

I can't reset my password to log in because the reset email keeps going to an email account I deactived a long time ago. I also can't change the email account that the reset password is sent to since that requires the proper password. The email I got back from Spotify wasn't very helpful.  This is my case number: ref:_00DD0pxIW._5005710ODIc:ref

Hey, !

    Hello cadshot,
I was able to locate your account using the e-mail address you used to register for the forum and have submitted a password reset request on your behalf. You should receive an automatically-generated message with a password reset link in the next 10-15 minutes, so make sure to keep an eye on both your inbox and junk mail folders. The link will only be valid for a short period of time, so let me know via private message if you're unable to access that e-mail right away.
To send me a PM, simply sign into the forum and then click on either the link in my signature or the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Which keyboard layout you were using? German, French ... I suppose your layout is reset to the default: US and you are unable to find the "?" or "/" ...
Please have a look into the keyboard viewer, to see how the layout of your keyboard is actually.

  • HT1689 I changed my apple I'd and password but my old I'd keeps coming up and I can't log in with new password

I have an iPad.  Couldn't remember password do I changed user name and password.  How do I get the old user name to stop popping up when I want to sign in for a purchase at iTunes?

Did you create a new account or did you update your existing account ? You can log out of the currently logged in account by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and you can then log back in. If you created a new account then your existing purchases will remain tied to your old account.

  • Log In Error "Can't log in" with my password - Win...

I log in to my microsoft account on Windows 8, usually Skype will just automatically connect.  Recently it will say "can't sign in, please type in your password" and it pops up my microsoft account information as log in name and then I type in the SAME exact password I just used seconds ago to sign into my computer and it says "can't sign in."  Then I have to go to live.login and change my password.  I have done this more than a handful of times in the past month.  It happens on my computer and also on my phone.
As soon as I change my password, I go to my skype, type it in, and it works fine.  I am pretty sure the problem is with Skype and not my microsoft account because I can still log in to my computer and my hotmail just fine.
I am tired of having to change my password all of the time!! It happens at least once a week.  It is particularly annoying, say, when on my lunch break I would like to just call my boyfriend overseas, but since skype can't recognize my password (even though it hasn't been changed and it is usually always automatically connected) I have to go to change my password (which includes me accessing an alternative email and typing in a code and blah bla hblah" from my phone.
    WHAT GIVES ????

Have you enabled the optional "two-step verification" login option?

  • Can I stop having to change password after one wrong entry?

It seems the requirement to change password for apple id is now 1 failed attempt..instead of being able to recover and use same password after answering security questions, I have to change passwords...this has become a pain.  Can this be changed?

I just made to bad attempts at entering my password into the iTunes Store and got the request to update my password before proceeding. I clicked through the links for Apple to send me an email (vice using the security questions). I ignored the email and entered my correct password and downloaded the music I wanted. You do not actually have to change your password, just go through some of the motions to initiate the process and then you can stop.

    Hi hg,
I didn’t found relevant settings in remote desktop connection manager, I checked the “Use multiple monitors when necessary” under tools->options, but seems like it is used for span a full screen over multiple monitors. For now I’d suggest figuring out
why your remote session keeps crushing.
I suspect the crash is not related to password changing, similar cases normally occurs after some local device driver, please try to disable the local printer in Remote desktop connection local resources first.

  • How to reactive my iphone 5s iCloud account however it's signed on to a non existent email address which i can't log on to verify password.

I need help. My brother added a non exsistent email to his Iphone 5s. I want to delete that icloud email but I can't because it has to be verfied. Can someone help me?

If you want to use another Apple I.D, you can go to SETTINGS - STORE. Click on the Apple I.D; select Sign out and Sign in with a valid Apple I.D.
If you want to change the password of an existing Apple I.D. you need to sign in to the account first which apparently you can't as the "password" is incorrect. Here is what you can do to change the password.
    Go to https://appleid.apple.com
Login with the Apple I.D. and you will see these 2 option.
    Select your authentication method.
Email authentication: To access your information, we will send an email to the address(es) on file for you.
Answer security questions: To access your information, you will answer the security question(s) provided when you originally created your Apple ID.
Proceed with the one that's easy for you.

  • Old apple id no longer valid.  new apple id can't log in or reset password

I just upgraded to an iphone 4s.
During the activation process, it said my old apple id was invalid because it wasn't an email address
I entered an email address but I have a couple of problems:
    1. I have a couple of apps that need to be updated.  When I go into the app store and click update all, it prompts me for the address for my old (non email) account password.  The password is no longer valid.
    2. I attempted to use iforgot to reset the password.  I request the email to reset the password, and I get the email with the reset your password link.  I click on the link to reset my password, choose a new password.   I got a page that said the password change was successful.  When I clicked the manage your apple id link and tried to log on with the new password, It said the apple id or password had been entered incorrectly.
I've tried to reset the password 4 times.  Each time, the same result occurs, I get the email, successfully change the password, and the new password doesn't work.

I have a similar problem I am unable to access my iTunes account and the email password reset does not work
I have a load of apple apps and music I now own but cant access
Very fed up and disalusioned with apple .....
Anyone know how to fix this or access support from apple

  • ABS snow-can't join/find or change password

Hi & thanks in advance. I searched the discussions-found somewhat related material but not enough. I am trying to use an airport snow that hasn't been in use for about 2-3 years. I am currently connected via it, so it does still work. I connected it last night, don't remember what all I did, but finally got it to work. Using AT&T DSL w/Westell modem, connected via ethernet port/cable to Snow. The network was previously named & password protected; my sister changed it, and somewhere/when I changed it back, but cannot remember password. I have managed to connect by 'resetting' the Snow, which temp resets password to 'public.' If the password is not reset during the next 5 minutes, it reverts and my problem starts all over again. After resetting temporarily, I try in vain through Airport Admin Util & Airport Set up Asst to find/rescan--everything I see possible to really reset my Snow network name & password. It 'cannot be found', 'can't read the configuration' finds the network but then asks for the password I don't have--just cannot get this to really work. One thing I did start last night and may have messed up was under Internet Connect under File under New 802.1x Connection--I started looking at this option but stopped partway through (when I realized I did not know enough about it to be doing it). Now this is grayed out under that menu. One different thing that happened was that at some point, I was directed by Firefox to the AT&T launch modem site, which I completed. That is when it started working.
I have 2 PB g4 15" aluminum, 1 running 10.3.9 & 1 on 10.4.11. Hope I have given enough info for someone(s) to help me. Thanks again for any/all help. Right now I am just hoping that the Airport Snow stays on & connected.

1st--and there I was trying to be so complete with my info. 2nd-in Airport Admin Utility, when I click on 'other', it asks me to enter the IP address (which already has 10.0.1.1) and enter the 'password for the other base station.' and there is my real problem--I don't know the password.
About the incompatible software, would I be able to use it (ABS snow) to connect (I am using it now) if the software was not compatible? I just haven't 'turned off airport' since I reset the ABS snow this morning and was able to connect before it reverted to the other password (that I don't know & don't know how to reset).
When you say to 'connect with Ethernet instead of wireless', do you mean to run another ethernet cable from the ABS to the ethernet port on the laptop? Current set up is DSL line--into Westell modem--into ABS via ethernet port. Thanks,

  • Why can't biometrics can't log me on via password or fingerprint

I have a HP DV-6 laptop. Today when I turned on my laptop neither the fingerprint nor password would work. It said "cannot find in store" or something like that. I've turned my laptop on safe mode and am able to access the laptop this way only. If I put my password in on safemode it works. As for my biometric settings, it says that I don't have any biometric devices on this computer. Could this be due to the fact that my laptop is on safe mode? What should I do? I purchase this laptop summer 2011, so warranty is over.

    You are welcome!
I am sorry that happened to you - it is quite disconcerting when the system suddenly stops working as it should.
You can click Options and edit your post to remove the serial number - that is private information.
    Updates
You can opt to switch your Windows Updates to manual - set it so that you are notified about the Updates and that they are not automatically applied.  You may not always recognise an Update that will prove unfortunate; you will be able to make sure your system is backed up before you apply updates, especially any updates about which you have concerns.
IF you are using the HP Support Assistant, this too, can be set so the updates will be offered but not installed.
I do suggest that you do use your own judgement to determine when it it time to update your system's BIOS.  The HP Support Assistant good software; it is not always the best way to determine when one should update the BIOS.
Check your computer's website for Drivers and Software for your computer:

    Backups
I do recommend that you catch up the rest of your files and data and add them to an external backup.  Your data is only as secure as is the method you use to retrieve it.  If you are depending on the fact that your computer is running and you are able to log in to retrieve that data, you are depending on a single failure point.  Best to have duplicate backups AND to be sure that everything you want to keep is backed up somewhere other than ON the computer.  Your Computers can die, your data should not die with it.
You might consider making an Image of your system's C drive.
    All things "Backup"
Scan the following files and see if any of the documents apply directly to your situation.  You might also get ideas of what you want to do to better protect your system, should it become necessary.

What if the system is "sick" but still limping along:  Restore did not work, the system is struggling, things are "not right"?
A "Repair Install" may help.  Do NOT do this without first having up-to-date backups.  If the Repair does not work, things might get worse -- best be prepared ahead of time.

  • Stuck at startup and can't log in with valid password

    Hi,
I have a MBP late 2011 and can't get past the startup screen with my valid password. After inputting my password the screen flashes and prompts me to input my password again (the password bar does not shake). If I go into safe mode, the same thing occurs. Note that I have no guest account either. I've tried PRAM reset and repaired disk via Disk Utlilty. I've also tried /sbin/fsck -fy. I have no installation CD either. Is there any other options I could try?
Before this happened, I tried to plug in my HDMI to my external monitor but got a random grey screen I couldn't avoid. After many hard resets I'm faced with this problem.
    Thanks

The lack of a backup history makes this problem very hard to solve.
Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups. If you upgraded from an older version of OS X, you'll need the Apple ID and password that you used.
When you restart, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process in Setup Assistant. That’s when you transfer the data from a backup.
Select only users and Computer & Network Settings in the Setup Assistant dialog—not Applications or Other files and folders. Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled.
    After that, run Software Update.
If the problem is resolved after the clean installation, reinstall third-party software selectively. I can only suggest general guidelines. Self-contained applications that install into the Applications folder by drag-and-drop or download from the App Store are usually safe. Anything that comes packaged as an installer or that prompts for an administrator password is suspect, and you must test thoroughly after reinstalling each such item to make sure you haven't restored the problem.
I strongly recommend that you never reinstall commercial "security" products or "utilities," nor any software that changes the user interface or the behavior of built-in applications such as Safari. If you do that, the problem is likely to recur.
Before installing any software, ask yourself the question: "Am I sure I know how to uninstall this without having to wipe the volume again?" If the answer is "no," stop.
Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it.
