Can't log in to account. My password doesn't work.

TB opens, can read mail but can not delete mail. TB keeps asking for my gmail password, which I enter but TB will not open. Have been trying for several day to open TB to no avail. TB says that a new password has been sent to my gmail account, however, it has never been received.
Sure need your help.

is the password working with Gmail in the browser?
try it now. I don't know if gmail will lock an account if you enter a wrong passwort too many times but you'll see when you log-on with the browser. have you gone through the instructions [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail here] ?

Pretty new to the forum. I have just opened an iChat account and I can't get it to work. I am able to create an account name and then I type in a password. Then the screen comes up and the computer asks me to type in my password....I do and then it says it doesn't recognize the password. I then look back at my file and the password in covered up with astericks (*), but the word length is different than what I typed. I have tried correcting the password numerous times and then repeatedly logging on and creating different accounts....but I haven't been able to log on yet. Please help me if you can. This is very frustrating.

HI Ben,
If you are creating a @mac account the password needs to be 16 characters or less to work with iChat.
This is because the AIM servers only allow this number of characters for their passwords and iChat uses the AIM servers for iChat.
The * that appear after you confirm the password show a default number of *s (12 I think) no matter how long or short your password is.

Hi, like you, me and many others are experiencing issues with signing into the PSN on PS3 and PS4. Some people are also experiencing issues loading the playsation web page. You can see other peoples problems on down detector. I for one have been unable to sign into PSN for 4 days.The first day i waited it out thinking it would be gone the next day. After i realised Sony has no information about this i decided to call them. I was told to power cycle both router and PS4 and contact my ISP even when i stated i had more than 2 consoles. After i power cycled my router and PS4 a few times I decided to contact my ISP (Virgin Media), they went through all of my ports and even opened my firewall and still no luck i called back and asked Virgin if i had the latest firmware update. They said everything is fine and I have all available updates installed. I can connect fine to the Internet on all devices and it even states it on the PS4 when I test connection, only PSN fails. So I decided to call Sony again and the guy who answered was alot more informative. He said that they are aware some users of fiberoptic are experiencing issues connecting with the PSN. He gave me a 3 day period where the problem will be looked into for me (This call to Sony was made on the Friday, the first call was made on the Thursday). Just a few moments ago I read a way how to sign in. It does not work for all but it worked for me to a certain degree. If you reset you PSN password for some reason it will let you sign in. Once signed in however I could only talk to friends via text messaging and visit the PS store. I can't sign into any game servers such as EA, ESO or COD. I can't even join chat parties. The new error code I am getting is NW-31175-7. I have even went to the resort of rebuilding my database on one of my less used consoles to see if it worked and it didn't. Can I have any feedback or even confirmation that Sony know about this? Thank you!

Were you able to reset the account's password ? If not then how did you try to get it reset e.g. http://iforgot.apple.com (which would have sent it to the rescue email address if you have one on that account) ? You can also try contacting iTunes Support in your country to get it reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
And no, accounts can't be merged nor content transferred between accounts.

Does anyone else have two Apple IDs? I can't get rid of one of them. It's associated with my iCloud account and I can't fix it. The password doesn't work.

So, apparently I have two Apple IDs associated with my iPhone. One is an old aol address that got hacked and was shut down. Even aol doesn't recognize the email address anymore, and the password doesn't work. It's associated with my iCloud account, so now I can't access that account. My other Apple ID is with everything associated with my iPhone and everything works just fine. But now I can't get to my iCloud stuff. Has this ever happened to anyone else. The guy at the Apple store says he's never heard of it.

I cannot sign into iCloud on my iMac. I have read all of the help information, but that isn't working. I cannot do anything with my system preferences - like add a new printer - because it won't log me in, sign me out, forget password doesn't work, etc.

What was this program for, or did you just assume it's something you shouldn't have and therefore arbitrarily decide to "throw it away"? Exactly how did you supposedly throw it away?
If you didn't change your administrator password, there's no reason it shouldn't work now, so that suggests you did something else, or changed it and then forgot what it was.
You can't recover that password; you can only change it. To do that, you would need to boot from your Snow Leopard DVD, choose your language, then choose Reset Password from the Utilities menu in the top menu bar.

As the title says, I upgraded my iMac with Mountain Lion, and now my password doesn't work. I can't log in to the computer at all.
And no, I didn't forget it. It's been the same since I first got it (so an unfortunate hack on wireless wouldn't be out of the question...)

Press Command and R keys while your computer is starting, go to Utilities > Terminal and type:
resetpassword

When I go into my settings to update my profile and change my email address, it prompts me for my password which doesn't work and then won't update my profile. I can't ask for a new password as it'll send it to my old email account?? There's no other way to ask for help except to post a message. I don't want to share my email address on a post so how do I get some private help please? You can update my profile to use the hotmail address as my primary address and send me an email that way.

I signed into Skype using my Microsoft account, and so my Microsoft email address is listed as the primary contact email.
I use another email account for my main account, and wanted to add that account.
However, when I try to add an email address and make it my primary, Skype asks for a password. Putting in my Microsoft account's password does not work - Skype tells me it is wrong.

i get this all the time. i have pop forwarding with yahoo!, and it has worked well with mac mail for a couple of years - but every once-in-a-while, i get the 'password rejected' dialog box. it's really annoying.
