Can't log in to Firefox Forum

I went to ask a question in here in the Forum, but I was told my user name and/or password were invalid. I asked to re-verify my account and was told an email had been sent to me - it never arrived. Then I asked to reset my password - again I was told an email was sent, and again it never arrived. I finally had to create another account so I could post this question.

I had this problem but without the weird language text. I'm assuming the strange characters are another problem. I couldn't log in even after a password reset and I couldn't register because an account already existed with that email address. I have more than one email address so I created another account with another email address.
The key is that your email address is not your username. You can reset your password, but if you don't remember your username you are So Out Of Luck because the reset doesn't show or reset your username. I tried the original account again and this time I guessed my username correctly--the account was so old that I was the first one with my nickname and I didn't need any extra characters.
Bottom line: if you can't remember or guess the username that goes with your account, you have to create another account with another email address, if necessary creating a free email address just for the Firefox support forum, or borrowing somebody else's email. After all, you don't need the email address to log on once you've activated the account. You only need it if you forgot the password (or the user name), and in that case you can either go back to the email you borrowed or create another account on the support forum. Apparently the forum management isn't bothered by orphan accounts.
By the way, I couldn't find this forum thread by searching the forum with its keywords, so I don't know whether anybody will see this answer.... No problem! A Google search of the World Wide Web can find it! Come to think of it, that's how I found it in the first place. Enjoy.

  • Why Can't I Log In To Firefox Forum

I'm unable to log in to FF forum using ANY browser at all with my original user name and associated password. I confirmed that my log in info is correct.
I've had to register a new account to log in to the forum. No problem logging in to new account.

I just discovered that the issue is rather intermittent, sometimes I can log in using any browser and sometimes not; the question is why is "log in" so unreliable for me ?
Dunno if any others are experiencing this issue.

Can't log in to sync. E-mail isn't worked.

There's a Bug filed about '''.eu''' email addresses for Sync emails not going thru.

  • How can I log out my firefox sync account from the desktop remotely?

Once I went to my friends' house, and I installed the firefox there and made it synced with my account.
And now I want to stop syncing my bookmarks and other things with that desktop, so is there any way to stop syncing?
Or is there any way to log out of that desktop remotely?

    Hello hblack123
If you have a rescue email address setup, then you should be able to send an email to reset the password or the security questions. If that is not available, then you would need to contact iTunes Store support. Check out the article below for more information.

  • On firefox I can't log on to my college website (it was working fine before and no longer does) It works on other browsers, it is not a loading problem.

This is what happens when I log in on firefox only! "In an attempt to increase security, you are no longer able to use your personal email to sign into your myWalden portal. Please try again using your WaldenU.edu email." I am not logging in with my personal email, when I ask for password help this message appears making me think it is the Walden site, but I can log in with out a problem on any other browser:
"We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Unfortunately, access to the myWalden portal is not available at this time.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience! " HELP! My college recommends your browser so I need it to work!

  • I can't open a PDF file stored in dropbox or log in from Firefox. I've tested in Chrome so the files are there.

I'm creating a funnel for a client and have uploaded a PDF file to her dropbox account. When I test the process in Firefox, I can't log in to her dropbox nor will the PDF file display when I test it from Firefox.
When I switch to Chrome, I can both open her dropbox account without issue and open the individual PDF file without issue. Since I have no idea what browser her prospects are using, I'm doing some testing.
If you need more info to troubleshoot, please let me know! I'm happy to provide whatever I can.
Note: I can't log in to ANY dropbox account from firefox (including my own or those of other clients I work with).

For Firefox users, there might be a built in pdf viewer, or a preferred viewer that handles pdf files.
I am not having any trouble logging in, so lets try this:
    * Remove any cookies from the cache: [[Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored on your computer]]
*[[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] if there is stored user data that is removed in this process: [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]

  • Can't log in using forum name/password

When ever I try to log in using my forum name/password I get a little message at the top of my browser saying something about no zip code and then I am back to the login page.  I have to use my Verizon account name and password to get into the forums.  I tried to find where I could check to see if there is an issue with my forum profile but I can't seem to find that info.  I would appreciate some help with this issue.

Before I start my post, I noticed that this afternoon, it seems the issue is FIXED for me!  I had this info in notepad from earlier in the day but didn't have a chance to post until now.  I thought I would post it anyway just to give an idea of what was happening for me.
I was getting the zip code error along with this following problem.  I've been having trouble the past few days also...this is different from all the other times I have logged in to the forums and I have never had issues previously at those log-ins.
    Okay, here is goes:
    From this page:
    http://forums.verizon.com/vrzn/
I'll click sign in.  I'll enter my username from my verizon account log in. ***of note, I have never been able to log in to the forums using my actual forum log-in name, which is different from the username I use to access my billing info (even using the forum username and checking forums user doesn't work*** Once I put that info in, I get directed to this page:
    https://www22.verizon.com/foryourhome/registration/reg/login.aspx?TYPE=33554433&REALMOID=06-3e5e92b5-8a92-010b-0000-379f0000379f&GUID=&SMAUTHREASON=0&METHOD=GET&SMAGENTNAME=$SM$bEwI%204RT//ht0%20M8xQ87x4qXmsiwWcbn1qYew3b40Of8i5oEV6/NOQ%20wSmu%20nyBH&TARGET=$SM$HTTP://www22.verizon.com/foryourhome/myaccount/Main/MyAccount.asp?Page=QadMA
This has a message on it that says the username and password are wrong, but when I type in the exact same info I typed in the first page, it works and I log in to my account.  I'm in the "overview" page. When I click on forums on the right side, it takes me to the forums back to the first link:
    http://forums.verizon.com/vrzn/
I have to click sign-in and then it comes up that I'm signed into the forums with the forum username (that is different from my billing username).
It's a little lengthy process that never happened before, I was able to just sign in to the forums using my verizon account username and had no redirection to another page.  (as noted above, this afternoon this issue was fixed for me)
Oh and worth a mention, when I try to use my forum username, I get a password/user ID error.  When I try to obtain the password or user ID info, it says that I'm not an active user and to please activate my account.  But when I log in using my billing username, it automatically directs me to the username I use for the forums.  The reason they are both different is that I signed up a while ago for the billing username and then about 6 months later signed up for the forum username because it wouldn't let me using my existing billing username.
    Sorry if it sounds confusing!

  • I can't log in to my websites anymore under a username now that I updated Firefox.

I can't log in to sites now that I updated Firefox after all my Adobe plugins crashed. I updated and did what the site recommended to do; should it not be easier for me to log in? I also cleared all cookies and the cache, to no avail.
I do lots of online shopping, so for me not to be able to access carts or wishlists is highly irritating.

It's not very much you can do from a web browser.

  • My profile on old pc is corrupted. I can only log in locally with another login. I need to copy or back up my firefox bookmarks. how can I do this?

I have a copy of my old profile on my old laptop but I can no longer log in as myself. I can only log into safe mode on my computer. I need to copy my bookmarks to my new laptop. I copied the profiles folder within the Mozilla folder in my local profile. I need to know how to restore my bookmarks.

mcioci said: '''''I copied the profiles folder within the Mozilla folder in my local profile.'''''
That will not work as your new profile folder has a different name and Firefox will not recognize the old profile name.
*Having your old profile folder within your new profile folder is simply wasting hard drive space.
*You can copy whatever files you need from the old profile folder to the new profile folder <u>with Firefox closed</u>. '''''In your case''''', you can then delete the old profile folder that is sitting within the new profile folder '''''OR''''' you can cut that old profile folder and paste to a safe backup place outside of the Firefox new profile folder.
*To open your profile folder you can use the following menu path in Firefox to open a new window with the profile folder: ''Firefox button > Help > Troubleshooting Information > click "Show Folder" to the right of Profile Folder'' (if using the Menu Bar ''Help > Troubleshooting Information > click "Show Folder" to the right of Profile Folder'').
Bookmarks and History are stored together in a file named '''''places.sqlite'''''. You need to copy that file into your new profile folder and overwrite the existing ''places.sqlite'' <u>with Firefox closed</u> if you have not added new Bookmarks to the new profile and have no new history that you wish to keep in the new profile.
If you need other information from your old profile see the following for the file names to copy from the old profile to the new profile. Again, if you have added anything in those new profile folders they will be over-written and the new items will be lost.

  • I can't stay logged in in the forum

Recently I am always logged out when I close my browser. (Chrome).
It doesn't ask my password so I assume the cookie was successfully written but nevertheless when I close the browser I have to sign in again next time I use the forum.
In the past I was automatically logged in but that is no more the case.
    What could have caused this?

I logged-on to the forum last night, yet with a fresh browser just now I found I had to try to log in.  I say "try", because the login process never finished - it just sat there and spun.  So I closed that IE browser window and opened another one, clicked the "Sign In" link again, then it went briefly to the login screen, then here, where I could post.
As far as I can tell, nothing's improved.
This web site development stuff has apparently become nearly impossible to do (even the US Government can't manage it).
As a 37 year software engineering veteran I find this situation apalling!  Adobe people, you need to take a hard look at what's going on here!  Your company has been able to maintain a state of the art package (e.g., Photoshop) for over 20 years.  Maybe you should ask the folks over in the Photoshop team what things they go through to make sure they can keep engineering that complex product without it coming down in flames.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • I can't log onto my iGoogle page or gmail accounts in firefox 3.6.12. I've tried all their suggestions - cookies already enabled, clearing caches and adding to safe list. Tried for 2 days now. Any ideas?

Up until a few days ago, I've been using IE but wanted to switch to Firefox for my default browser. Since then, I can't log in to my Google accounts on Firefox. Its still working (from the same laptop) on IE, however.

Can you log in to that site while in [[Private Browsing]] ?
If that works then you may have a problem with the current cookies or the disk cache, both are not use while you are in PB mode.
    * "Clear the Cache": Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    * "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file <i>cookies.sqlite</i> that stores the cookies is corrupted.<br />
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> and <b>cookies.txt</b>, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

  • If I try to log in to my Hotmail account in Firefox, Hotmail says my Hotmail account doesn't exist, while I can problemlessly log in in other browsers

When I open Hotmail in Firefox and try to log in, Hotmail says my account doesn't exist. But I can problemlessly log in in other browsers, so I'm sure there's no problem with my account. Further, I'm absolutely sure I didn't misspell anything. Before this problem occured, I've always been able to log in to my Hotmail account in Firefox. I've already tried clearing my cookies and history, but it still doesn't work.

#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.
