Can't log in to Google/Gmail after upgrade to 10.6.3
Hi All,
I just upgraded to 10.6.3 and thought all was well until I tried logging in to my Gmail/Google account.
After entering my login info I got a redirect to a Google page telling me my browser cookie settings weren't correct and to clear the cache.
I cleared the browser cache, checked cookie settings, repaired permissions and rebooted, but I still can't login with Safari. The login screen keeps reloading and asking for my password.
I can log in with Chrome and FireFox. And Mail seems to be working well (set up to retrieve my Gmail messages). But I need to have web access to various Google services.
Has anyone else experience this after upgrading to 10.6.3? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Can't log in as WebDB administrator after install. At http://mymachine.mydomain.com:7777/pls/htmldb/htmldb_admin/

password = my password during the installation
and then the page just hangs.
I think I have a configuration problem with marvel.conf. Can anyone help?

Firstly, you refer to "WebDB administrator" and "WebDB 1.6". This is not WebDB. You're confusing this with an entirely different product released in the late 90's.
You don't say what your specific error is. But the file does not exist errors in your Apache error log look suspicious. It looks like you have not copied the images directory from the HTML DB 2.0 distribution.

Kayl07There are several common causes for this problem:
Your security software (Antivirus, firewall, router settings) is blocking access to gs.apple.com, Apple's activation servers. Try temporarily disabling your security applications on your computer.
You have a redirect in your hosts file that defines a different IP address for gs.apple.com. you must delete all references to gs.apple.com from your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, or /etc/hosts on a Mac)
Your phone is jailbroken or otherwise hacked. -

MacBook can't see my home wireless network after upgrade to OSX 10.8.5
After upgrading to OSX 10.8.5, my MacBook does not detect any wireless nertworks. My iPad and iPhone work fine, my router has been rebooted, WiFi is turned on, and the ethernet connection is how I am writing this message to you via broadband. There are a half dozen wireless networks in range (according to my iPhone) but the MacBook cannot find the router I am sitting next to. Any ideas on how to correct this issue?
It appears an SMC reset was required:
HT5815 I've just done the 10.8.5 update on my MacBook Pro end of 2008, and WiFi don't work after reboot... Impossible to activate it...

I think you are sailing in uncharted waters with those kind of modifications.
I am only guessing, but if you have not already done so, do a PRAM reset and then trash your FCP preferences.

Office 2004 is a PowerPC app that requires Rosetta to run. Roseeta and thus all PPC aps are not supported on Lion. Further Office 2008's Installer is a PPC app. Office 2008 will run if installed before installing Lion, but you cannot install it from Original Office 2008 Media after installing Lion.

why can't I open my numbers docs after upgrade to 3.0? I have downloaded Maverick. I had the same problem with Pages at first. Is there any way to get my spreadsheets back? I'm nervous about upgrades anymore.
If you recently updated to Mavericks and updated the Numbers to 3.0 then it is likely you are trying to open a Numbers 3.0 file with Numbers 2.3.

Be sure you are careful about which version you are launching and using to open files. If you want to be able to open a file in Numbers 2.3 then you should continue using Numbers 2.3 (which is located in the folder "/Applications/iWork '09")
If you already opened a Numbers file in 3.0 and saved if but want to open in 2.3 you can export from Numbers 3.0 by using the menu item "File > Export To > Numbers '09..." -

Suddenly i can't export iPhoto slideshows to iDVD after upgrading to 10.8.2 I get the message "CouldNotCreateTmpDir" What do i do to overcome this problem? I've been making slideshows for ages using iPhoto and iDVD and it's suddenly stopped. Urgent help needed.
Are you saying that you cannot export a slideshow from iPhoto to the Desktop and then drag it from the Desktop (or the Movie frolder where it can be stored) into an open iDVD menu window?
Export the slideshow at the large or medium size:
They drag the movie file into the open iDVD window. NOTE: do not move the movie file once it's been added to iDVD. That's why it should be placed in folder where you intend to keep it permanently or at least until the iDVD project is completed and burned to a disk image and then to disk.

While I am trying to log out from a gmail account on firefox , a new tab pops out informing me about problem with the cookies options. I couldn't follow the instructions in the tab, because I couldn't find anything of the suggestion in the options menu. Then I checked everything that online mozilla support suggested and nothing seems to be wrong with the cookies, they are activated. I don't know if this is connected with this problem, but the account that I am trying to log out is not mine, it belongs to a friend that has ever logged in before through my firefox until yesterday, and since then I am stuck with her account and basicly I can't even have acces to my emails. After upgrade to 3.6.12 Firefox I cannot compose an email in Gmail. Shows that Gmail in "loading".
Gmail works in IE. No problems before upgrade.Did check the pref dom.storage.enabled and make sure that the value is true?

Can't open the finder via applications after upgrading
After upgrading to Mountain Lion I can't show or open files in the finder via my applications. For example, after I download a file in Chrome nothing happens when I right-click and say 'open file' or 'show in finder.' After I export images from Lightroom it won't open the folder containing those images even though the 'show in finder' option is selected. I have to open the finder and navigate to the files manually. Any help would be appreciated.
Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash these files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)
