Can't log in to .Mac or Discussions using my password

Can anyone help?
I cannot log in to my trial .Mac account on my new G5 iMac at home, running Tiger. I am writing this on a G4 Quicksilver at my work running Panther. Can it be a Tiger issue? I've tried using Safari, Explorer and even Firefox. None of them allow me access. I tried logging into Apple discussions using my Apple ID. None would allow access. Why can I log in here at work with no problems, yet not at home on a machine less than three months old? I've done a software update. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks, I tried that, but I think this problem is as a result of installing the latest security update a couple of days ago. I can browse the web, but whenever I try to log in using a password to a site, I get the problems. Can't log in to Discussions, .Mac, EBay or Gmail. I can get in to Amazon though, weirdly.
I've cleared history, cache, cookies, run Onyx, all to no avail.
What does anyone reckon? I see other people are having problems with this update, but most are crashes and machines hanging.

Can't log with my .mac account

I have registered two acounts on my iChat and all worked perfectly up to this morning. i was disconnected from my iChat because of the computer that switched of during the night and kno I can't anymore log on my .mac account. I have a message saying that i'm disconnected : Auth:DbSendError.
Can you tell me why ? What can I do ? Nothing shows why or what is really the problem...

As you may have read in older threads it has been a constant intermittent problem with the AIM servers when they go through an Update process.
It seems that they clear out older Unused screen names from time to time.
Now this used to happen about 4 times a year with an Early December one being the most intensive.
It seems nowadays they are smaller issues (less people effected) but happen more often.
Unfortunately it seems the link they have with the .mac server for @Mac screen names is the most often seen problem for @mac names.
There has also been a bit of a rush with people trying out Leopard and it's new iChat version.
This is not only new people but current people logging On and Off as they change settings.
Leopard also seems to offer a SSL login to AIM which may also add to problems of synching more servers.

HT2623 I forgot the password for my .mac account and cannot log into it from Apple Mail. I have an iCloud mail account but did not convert my .mac account to iCloud. How can I log into my .mac or .me email?

I set up .mac, including email, around 2006. I believe my .mac account became a .me account, but I continued to receive email sent to .mac until about March 2013.
I accessed my .mac account using Apple Mail on an iMac running OS X 4.11. I'm still using that machine.
In July 2013, I upgraded my MacBook Pro to OS X 8.5, bought an iPod Touch and set up an iCloud account.
I forgot my .mac password and I want to open an email message sent to my .mac email account.
When I attempt to log into my .mac account using Apple Mail, my password attempts are rejected by a .me mail server.
Is there any way I can restore my access to my .mac or .me email?

I can't log into the Mac App Store.

It's just the Mac Store. When I try to open an app I purchsed on this computer with this ID it responds with 'unknown error'
I have no libraries to delete, I've repaired disk permissions.

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.

Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.

try login from the browser rather then the mail program and verify each account setting one by one to verify that they are correctly because an undocumented unwanted feature in the os of your phone could be the cause

When I open my macbook air, I get the log in screen but when I enter my password nothing happens. The box wobbles and that's it. Is there a way to circumvent it?

When the boxes wiggles, that's an indication that you are entering the wrong password.

Bottom of my ipod screen won't respond, so i reset factory settings as suggested, it didn't help and now i can't log in to itunes as my apple id password has numbers in it

few issues here. firstly, the bottom section of my ipod touch 4th gen won't respond. it'll let me slide to unlock but not tap anything, including to change between keyboards which brings me onto my second problem. i did a factory reset because a few people on here had suggested it, but now i can't log into my apple account because my password has numbers in. is there a way to bypass this requirement? or fix my ipod? i can't afford a replacement

Can I migrate files to Mac from PC using iCloud?

We have just got an iMac and I have been trying to migrate files etc. from our old PC using Migration Assistant, but to no avail. PC says Mac is trying to connect, Mac says it has found PC but that is as far as I can get! Has anyone any suggestion? I am not at all used to Mac, having had PCs for the last 18 years, but I use iPad and iPhone as does my husband, and so we wanted to treat ourselves, expecting we would be able to link up easily with these items. I'm sure it will be, if I ever manage to get our files transferred! Our son suggested it might be possible to use iCloud but I have seen nothing to suggest that - would it be possible?
Please can anyone advise?

I don't think using iCloud would work because there is no storage there expect for Mac files. If you can't get Migration Assistant to work, you can copy the files to an external dive and then to the Mac,

Why do I get iCal error messages on my iMac saying that it can't log into my Gmail account and that the password may be incorrect - when the password is correct?

I recently changed my Google email password and now I keep getting the bouncing iCal icon telling me that it can't log into my gamil account. When I go to calendar.google.com as instructed and enter the new password it does not solve the problem.

Can't transfer apps from Mac to iPhone using iTunes

I need to transfer an app from my Mac to my iPhone because the vendor bodged an update. I've deleted the broken app from the iPhone and now want to sync apps with my Mac as it has a working copy of the app. However when I go to the syncing screen there are no apps visible:

Don't know when the problem started as I normally keep the apps up to date on each device over wifi.
Any ideas chaps?

Apps you purchase from the Mac App Store can only run on the Mac OS X.
Apps purchased from the iTunes store run on iOS based devices such as your iPod.
In other words, you can't run the game for your Mac then copy it to your iPod. Two differenct operating systems.

Can't log in to Mac site and store

I am so frustrated and also angry. Every time I go to the Mac or Apple website it says my password is wrong. So -- every single time -- I have to hit 'forgot password' and then get email and then make up password and then get on the site. Then, if I try to go back to Mac site the next time, the password does not work.... even if I go back 5 minutes later.... or next day. So I always have to make up new password and I get to visit the site -- once. And here I am trying to buy something and spend lots of money and Mac makes it nearly impossible to access its site... or Mac Store. So, after I post this message and log out I will not be able to access the site again unless and until I go thru those pain-in-the-butt steps.

I don't know honestly if I have cookies on. But I can say that I go to lots of sites -- daily -- where I need a password and it's never an issue. This includes online stores, forums, my bank, etc.... I just type in password and I'm there. But with Mac, no-go. I have to start anew and make up new password every single time.

Hello, just got my brand new mac mini server with Lion on board
I set it up the day before yesterday. Logged in and was using it...
Yeterday I installed Server admin tools, started Open directory, DNS ... I didn't have time to check if they were working properly and decided to go home.
Today I started my mac server And tried to log in with my admin account and it said that the password is wrong...
I tried all passwords and users that I had yesterday (my personal, diradmin, and some users that I created) none of them worked.
I tied to go in safe mode and type my password there - didn't work...
What to do??
P.S. I'm going to use this server in a computer class, that why I started open directory
