Can't log in to my iMac.

I changed the name and password, came back sometime later and noticed the name wasn't changed and now neither passwords work. What do I do?

I'm guessing, but changing the name may have caused the problem. Where/how did you change it?
In the meantime, will it boot into 'Safe Mode' and allow you to log in? Restart holding down the shift key until you see a grey progress bar. You'll likely be presented with a login window - will it let you log in?

You can access your Mac from your iPhone or iPad through a remote desktop client like Splashtop or LogMeIn if you already have something like this installed. Are you sure that your keyboard is 'discoverable'? (Hold button until light comes on and then goes off. Release button, then depress agin. The light will come on, hold for for about 3 seconds then let go. The light on the keyboard should be blinking in a 3 flash succession.) If it doesn't connect to the Mac after this, you'll need to get/borrow/buy a USB Keyboard (It's always good to have one of these handy anyway when you have a wireless accessory setup as your main way of connecting with your Mac).
Once you do get in to your system, be sure and go to System Preferences>Bluetooth and make sure that the 'Discoverable' box is checked. Also, go on to the Advanced pane and make sure that the box that says "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if no trackpad or mouse is detected" is Checked.

First make sure the batteries aren't dead and that the keyboard hasn't already been paired with another device. If it hasn't, the keyboard should pair automatically when you reboot. You may have to press and hold the power button on the right side of an Apple keyboard until the LED starts flashing.

If you have a third-party Bluetooth keyboard, you may need a wired keyboard to complete the pairing process. It's a good idea to keep a cheap wired keyboard and mouse or trackball as backups for a desktop Mac anyway, because Bluetooth isn't completely reliable.

My Window 7 notebook can't log on to my iMac after installing Lion.

I have a home network with my Imac and my wife's window 7 Notebook. Router is an Airport Extreme.
Before installing Lion. I can connect to my iMac from Window using "\\imac name". Also I have a couple iMac's folders mounted as network drives on the Window 7 notebook.
Installed Lion last night. File sharing in itunes is still working. I can still connect to the Window notebook from my iMac. The Mount network drives on the Window notebook are also working, I can still access those iMac folders from the Window 7 notebook.
But when I try to connect to the iMac from Window using "\\imac name". It says the iMac "is not accessible" and I "might not have permission to use the network resource".
Turned off and restarted all the computers and the airport router. Still don't work.

I can't remember my password and now, I can't log in to my imac.

I did the most stupidest things by not remember my imac's password and now I could not log in. The Startup keep prompting me to key in my password.
How do i solve this? Do I need to bring my imac to the Service Centre?

I had tried to start up from a Mac OS X Install disc by holding the C key. The screen still jump to the Log in screen. I could not even change go to the Utilities menu to reset password.

I can't log in using password. Each time I enter the log in box comes back unpopulated with my password.

I can't log in to the Imac. Each time I enter my password it is initially accepted then the screen reverts to the log in dialogue box again withhout being populated by the password entered.

Do you have FileVault turned on? People have posted it is requiring a double login.

TRansfered all the data, now can't log in to new mac.

I bought an iMac yesterday and transfered all the data from my MBP to the iMac using the Migration Assistant. Now I can't log in to the iMac. It keeps telling me I'm using the wrong password and should reset it using AppleID. Well, I can't get to the AppleID system to be able to do that as I can't log in. Which means, I am now back on using my MBP and my iMac is sat on the desk as a nice large very expensive piece of ornament.

You can use SS management studio to connect to DB. What you need to do, is to ensure your connection string is something like

within Web.config/app.config file in your project, to ensure the project will work fine with the database.

Removed users can still log in

Hi there
I'm having an odd problem about removed users that can still log in. Users are defined on a OD server (OS X server 10.4.4), the users are put into groups, and the different groups can log in to different computers. Works fine, more or less.
However, if I remove a user from a group, he can still log in to all the computers he was able to log in before I removed him! Same is true if I remove an entire group from a computer list - all users that were in that group can still log in to the computer.
E.g:
iMac; login allowed for Group-1, with User01 and User02
-> User01 and User02 can log in. Fine.
Remove User01 from Group-1
-> User01 can still log in to the iMac. ????
Removing Group-1 from the iMac computer list
-> User01 and User02 can still log in. Grrr...
I did several restarts of both the clients and the OD server, trashed the cache files in /Library/Caches and deleted mcx-caches in Netinfo Manager. Nothing helped. It's starting to drive me mad!!
Any ideas?

This is a follow up for my old post.
My iMac-G4(flat panel) can not log-in after the on-line free software e-update provided by Apple weekly. The actual diagnosis is: start up the iMac, when the blue-bar finishes, no log-in box showing up, so I can't log-in to use. I have tried to re-install, but it could not re-install. But I ran the Hardware Test CD, it said OK. I took the iMac to Apple's Hong Kong support center, they charged me HK$600(US$80) for examination fee, then said it was the logic-board problem and needed to replace for another HK$6000(US$800) cost. I ended up not to fix it as too expensive. Anyone have opinion? Because I thought if the logic board died, how can I still able to start up and run the Hardware Test CD?

My iMac just crashed after the latest software update - (iMac 20" Intel Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 256MB-VRAM)
After the latest software update, the screen went grey and black boxes appeared with messages about a "panic". Needed to use power button to restart but I received the same message ("panic" and need to use power button).
AppleCare didn't solve it - They had me "Repair Disk" (it was OK, no repair needed) then they had me try a "Archive Install" but that didn't finish (after about 40 min. it locked-up with only 2 min. to go!). I tried this 3 times with the same problem during the last 2 min. (it was installing iWeb files...)
I have Apple Care but since they couldn't help, I plan to take it to the Apple Store today.
I can't believe your logic board is bad either...

Why do I get iCal error messages on my iMac saying that it can't log into my Gmail account and that the password may be incorrect - when the password is correct?

I recently changed my Google email password and now I keep getting the bouncing iCal icon telling me that it can't log into my gamil account. When I go to calendar.google.com as instructed and enter the new password it does not solve the problem.
