Can't log in to portal server 7

i installed sun portal server 7 on a linux machine, at first i was able to login to the portal server and did some cofigs after loggin out i tried to login again i got an authentication failure message what could be the problem?

I never discovered the problem, and instead rebuilt the server from the ground up.  I followed instructions at this discussion thread.  Very helpful.
How To Install A (Almost) Working Lion Server With Profile Management/SSL/OD/Mail/iCal/Address Book/VNC/Web/etc.
I have had some log-in problems with users.  I have found that restarting the server helps. If this doesn't work, I rebuild permissions on the server, followed by opening up Workgroup Manager, go to the user's password, click on options and require that the user change password on the next log-in. For some reason, this will usually fix the problem.  I then log in as the user, and "change" the password to the original one. Also note, that if you import a user, the password is not brought in.  You must enter it for each user that you imported.  Even so, I have often had to resort to the re-set password procedure to enable a log-in.

  • Exchange 2013 - Admins can only log into one ECP server

Simple run down of my environment:
    • Two AD sites (Site1 and Site2)
    • One 2008 R2 domain controller at each site (DC1 w/ FSMOs and DC2) running AD forest function level 2008 R2
    • One 2012 Std server with Exchange 2012 Std CU3 at each site (EX1 and EX2) – CAS/MBX on both, No DAG
    • Half of mailboxes on each server
Using https://webmail.domain.com for all of our internal and external virtual directories. Adding /OWA or /ECP will get you into the respective site from either internal or external.
All Domain Admin/Exchange Admin (Organization Management) do NOT have mailboxes. Those individuals can log into ECP from https://webmail.domain.com/ecp, or FQDN or IP of EX2 only. If John Smith has no mailbox then he must use:
    https://webmail.domain.com/ecp
    or
    https://ex2.domain.com/ecp
    or
    https://10.16.109.31/ecp
If EX2 goes offline or they use https://ex1.domain.com/ecp or https://10.16.108.31/ecp then none of the admins can login and they get the following:
Use the following link to open this mailbox with the best performance:
    https://webmail.domain.com/owa/auth.owa
    X-FEServer: EX2
    Date: 2/18/2014 10:37:42 PM
s ECP or the https://webamil.domain.com/ecps ECP.
They can access EMS from either server and run Get-ECPVirtualDirectory and it shows what we would expect:
Why can an admin with no mailbox only log into the ECP on EX2? What is forcing the login to EX2 only? How can I move that “forced login” to EX1 if we ever get into a situation where EX2 is having problems? What happened in Active Directory or Exchange that
made EX2 the primary login server for ECP and OWA? My FSMOs are located at Site 1…the same location where EX1 is located. The same server that I cannot log into ECP directly.
    ~Rick

Any admin that is mail enabled can then only log into the server that hosts his mailbox. Admins without mailboxes can only log into EX2. And again, all admins can log into https://webmail.domain.com/ecp unless one of the servers goes offline
and that's when the problems occur. Nothing obvious or unusual regarding mail flow. Done various internal and external tests and have not seen anything obvious or in the logs.
Yesterday's change that MS Support had me do was to delete the ExternalURL for the ECP virtual directories. No difference. So, my latest update from MS Support that requested me to try today's change...
set-owavirtualdirectory “owa (default web site)” -RedirectToOptimalOWAServer $false
After performing an IIS reset and making sure replication had completed there was no difference. So, I am now forced to wait till Monday for MS to respond if the pattern stays at one email per day.
Has anyone with multiple servers at different AD sites been able to log directly into the either server like I'm trying? I get this problem in my labs and I even had MS, while on the phone, remote in to make sure I was setting it up properly.
The guy on the phone never said if their labs do the same thing cause they don't have multiple AD sites in their labs. In my lab if I have two servers at each site then I can log into both servers at the site, but not the other site. It appears it becomes
    site dependent then.
MS has taken numerous logs and they are acting like this is the first time they've seen this. Yet I can reproduce it with no problem time after time. I'll create new VMs and start all over from scratch and make this happen every time I create a new AD/Exchange
environment (it does take me a while to build all those VMs from scratch). No fancy GPOs to AD and no radical changes to the Exchange servers. Other than obvious config changes to make sure email can flow internally and externally, this is pretty much out
    of the box.

  • Is it possible for a channel present in one portal server can be shared across another portal server?

Say there are two portal servers A and B.
Sample Channel is present in A iPlanet portal server which I want it to be in another
B iPlanet portal server. If it is possible then how to configure?

That really depends on the type of channel and what you want to share.. If it is a URL scraper or JSP channel, you should be able to define on one server and then export the definition using <b>ipsadmin</b>. This will bring it to an XML file which can then be imported on Server B using <b>ipsadmin</b>.

  • Can't get to log in page, can't log in to Content Server

    Hi,
I have installed Content Server on my desktop. I took almost all of the default settings. Saw no errors in log. Both Content Service and Content Admin Service are running correctly. Since 'new' install did not work, I have also tried to 'update' it.
Following instructions exist in install doc. The log in page itself does not come up. What am I missing?
Go to the Content Server homepage (portal page). By default, the address is http://[host_name]/[web_root], for example http://master1/server/.
UCM is installed in C:\Oracle\ucm\server - so what would be it's URL for homepage?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
The correct format for accessing the portal page of CS is : http://hostname:port/webrelativeroott/portal.htm
Before this make sure that the configurations are done properly in the webserver if apache is being used , httpd.conf.
    Hope this helps

  • Can't log in to wiki server

Everything was working fine with my wiki web site a couple of days ago.  This morning when I tried to log in, I couldn't.
I can get to the main wiki page: https://tewiki.trilleng.com but when I click on "My Pages" or "Wikis" or "Blogs" and try to log in, it just shakes it's little square head "no."
I tried to log in at 02:35:32. Here are some log entries at that time:

    Thanks!

    Found and fixed the problem.
In the file /Library/Logs/wikid/error.log was this:
    exceptions.IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Library/Application Support/Apple/WikiServer/entityList.plist'
I checked the WikiServer directory and the files there were owned by user:group root:admin.  They're supposed to be owned by _teamsserver:_teamsserver so I did a chown on that whole directory:
    sudo chown -R _teamsserver:_teamsserver WikiServer
After that I was able to authenticate with my wiki server.
I wonder if I can give myself 10 points for providing the correct answer.  :-)

  • Can't log out of App Server

Sun Java System Application Server Enterprise Edition 9.1 (build b13)
We have several EARs running against Sun App server and using Container Form based authentication.
In the applications, we have a Logout link. The Logout link triggers an action in the application, and that action invalidates the user session. It then forwards them to our "index.jsp" which is controlled by the servlet security settings.
But the problem is that the user is not "logged out". When they hit the index.jsp, it does not prompt them for a login, not does it prevent them from going anyplace in the application.
Any ideas as to why the container does not log them out? We do have SSO enabled in the app server. Is there a better technique for logging a user out?

I have fixed it...The solution was to reboot the iPhone.  Shut it down, turned it back on, and then the problem apps went away.  I had to resynch them from iTunes.

  • Where can I find a portal server for JAVA development?

    Hi, everyone:
I am looking a portal server which can be used under Windows envorinment and related development environment (toolkit or SDK).
I have done some search through IBM and SUN's web site and I can not find any portal servers that running on Windows plarform for download and related Windows development (toolkit or SDK).
Where can I find some trial versions of portal servers running under Windows and related Windows development (toolkit or SDK)? I want to use JAVA to development portal, so Microsoft does not provide any useful information.
I just want to use basic functions of portal servers so I think other portal servers other than IBM and SUN's can also be used, maybe an open source one can be used. But I do not know what are they and where can I get them. :-)
So, anyone can help me to introduce a portal server that can meet my needs. Or provide me information where to download IBM or SUN's portal server running under Windows and related Windows development (toolkit or SDK).
    Best regards,
    George

I just want to use portal server and deploy some
applications written in JAVA. Have I made myself
    understood?
    Still not clear.
Do you want a server application that deploys software. For example you create a game. Someone logs into your "portal server" and downloads the game from that?
Or do you just want to know how to package a java app that you have already written, and then put it on a CD so someone can install that on their computer?

I'm not sure why but I my Exchange PowerShell can't log into my Exchange server and I can't access the EAC

I did notice that I enabled HTTP Proxy in IIS and that I used Application Route Requesting with it but I went ahead

  • Os x Leopard Machine can't log in

    # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool.
    # This is the main Apache server configuration file.  It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/> for detailed information about
    # the directives.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do.  They're here only as hints or reminders.  If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # The configuration directives are grouped into three basic sections:
    #  1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a
    #     whole (the 'global environment').
    #  2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server,
    #     which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host.
    #     These directives also provide default values for the settings
    #     of all virtual hosts.
    #  3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to
    #     different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the
    #     same Apache server process.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path.  If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/logs/foo.log".
    # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
    # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
    # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which Apache.exe is located
    # will be used by default.  It is recommended that you always supply
    # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths, however, to avoid
    # confusion.

    # applications.
    # If specified, ensure that no two invocations of Apache share the same
    # scoreboard file. The scoreboard file MUST BE STORED ON A LOCAL DISK.
    #ScoreBoardFile logs/apache_runtime_status
    # PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
    # identification number when it starts.

I am not expert in these, but please check out the following things and see whether it would solve your issue. (All these changes can be easily rolled back in case I'm wrong :). So make note of what you do)
As per your httpd.conf, you have chosen an automatic configuration of Apache by OWCI installer itself. What it does is create an imageserver.conf file in a separate directory and these settings will be included in your httpd.conf as you can see in the first line: Include "C:/bea/alui/plumtreeconf/".
If you check the imageserver.conf in that location, you would find a line like: Alias /imageserver/ "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/". This aliases the original path "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/" to /imageserver"
To confirm whether this is done right, check the following:
    1. Acces 'http://<server ip / server name / localhost >/' from your browser
This should display the Apache home page (as per your httpd.conf, it uses the default port 80; so no port number required)
    2. Access 'http://<server ip>/imageserver/' from your browser
This should display the directory structure (if its not disabled) inside your 'C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/' folder. Also confirm that all the subfolders are accessible.
    3. If all the above is right, it means that your imageserver settings are right. Please check your portalconfig.xml for the correct settings: For example, <setting name="HTTPPort"> should be 7001 in your case. If its something else, change it and restart Weblogic for the settings to take effect.
    Hope this helps.

  • How we can see logged in portal user

    hello SAP EP gurus,
How i can know how man users are logged on my EP Portal and which user is using which report. Is there any way to find out this thing.?
Also how we can see the performance of our portal?
    Waiting for earliest reply.

    Hi,
You can use " portal Activity Report" for this purpose.
alternatively, if you have access to server you can check this through visual admin
simply open visual admin, open on your servernode --services,click on Performance Tracing, click on JARM and choose what you want to see.
its easy to use standard portal Activity Report.
else you can use third party reports loke "google analytics" which will give the number of users logged in, what the navigation of each user, from which geographical area the user has logged in and all about the user logged into the portal and portal performance.
you need to login with your gmail id and password and download the code and use it in you portal application... its very easy to use.
