Can't log on to iMessage. Keeps recycling ad infinitum

I can't log on to iMessage on my iMac with Mav 10.9. It's working on both my iPad2 and iPhone 4s with IOS 7. I've never used it on the iMac before: now logging on yields only the spinning recycling icon indefinitely.
None of the fixes or workarounds I've seen have worked. I understand others are having this problem.
Does anyone have a fix or workaround that works?
Thanks.

All,
I am having the same problem with my new iPad (wifi+4G LTE).
When I try signing into iMessage using my Apple Id & password, it would momentarily show a message box with Next button on it & straight after that it would show the Sign In screen again. And obviously, it doesnt sign me in to iMessage or enable it.
I have tried the following things, but they dint help:
1. Reset Network settings
2. Sign out of from Settings -> Store -> Apple Id
3. Change DNS to Google's public DNS 8.8.8.8
4. Changing Apple Id password
5. Hard Resetting iPad.
Could anyone please help?
Cheers,
Jay
P.S. I am only using Wi-Fi on my iPad at the moment, as I havent got a data plan as yet.

Hi, I can't log in App Store, keep downloading, any one can advise, thanks

Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

• Can't log in to iMessages/FaceTime on Mac

I am having trouble logging in to iMessages and FaceTime on my Mac.
I read everything here and have tried a bunch of suggestions (if not all of them) in an attempt to rectify the problem. No luck. MBP 17 (late 2010), Mavericks 10.9.4
Here's what I've done and/or tried:
- Rebooting (duh)
- Resetting keychain (many times)
- Repairing permissions
- Trashed related preference files
- Booting in safe mode and attempted to log in
- Created another account on my Mac and attempted to log in to iMessage/Face Time
- Reset time zone and date/time settings to "auto."
- Disabling iCloud on my computer and re-logging in
- The mDNS/Bonjour fix via Terminal
- Disabling Flash from storing data locally
- Tried booting into Open Firmware to reset VRAM, but couldn't (may try again)
- Checked my Apple ID to ensure there are no other phone numbers/emails associated
- Enabled my email address as well as my phone # in FT and iM on my iPhone and iPad
- Disabled two-step verification on my Apple ID (just in case that was it--I've seen stranger things happen.)
Here's what DOES work:
- Logged into Game Center on my Mac
- Logging into iTunes
- Logging into iMessages on a different Mac
- iCloud, iMessages, FaceTime on my iPad and iPhone
- Checked for my Mac's serial no. (it's there)
Just updated to Mavericks 10.9.4 on 7/7/14, updated MS Office and Adobe Reader, then repaired permissions. After that, my keychain locked up, and I spent six hours figuring that all out. Once that was sorted out, the next day, I noticed I couldn't log in to iMessages. I don't know if it's a certificate problem or a server problem or what.
The error I get most commonly in Console is "unrecognized leaf certificate."
Appreciate any help.

I solved it! I solved it!
Reinstalling did not work, neither did creating a new user account. Skip down to the TL;DR section for what I did.
I created a new user and installed OS X Mavericks again. I didn't re-format the HDD, because I did not want to re-install all of my applications and wait for all that (hours and hours). This did not work at all and in fact, even more stuff "broke." After the reinstall, I could not (and still can't) log in to Apple Support or my Apple ID via Safari (have to use Firefox). Safari is telling me it can't establish a secure connection to the idsma.apple.com or to the appleid.apple.com servers. iMessages and FaceTime were still preventing me from logging in, and everything went to Hades in a handbasket. Oh--I couldn't log in to the App Store, either. I also repaired permissions while booted from the OS install disk--that didn't help either.
However, I DID FINALLY manage to get iMESSAGES TO WORK on my Mac! (This is in my original user account, not the new one I created, just FYI.) I again changed the time zone preferences from automatic to manual (with my correct time zone) and I made a change to the time preferences so that the date is displayed in the menu bar. I did that just to ensure the .plist file was updated by the OS. (I'd done this before, but since this was a new OS, I figured it might help). Then, after reading another user's tip in another thread, I logged completely out of iMessages (and iCloud, just for kicks) on my iPhone and iPad. I also went to Sys Prefs > Users and re-added my Apple ID to my computer's user id/login.
I don't know how much this matters, but when I did that, the "caution" icon (yellow triangle with exclamation point) appeared next to the Apple ID info in the Sys Prefs. I double-clicked it to see if it would tell me anything, and it disappeared. I re-launched iMessages, and I kid you not, it logged me in! WOOT! Then I logged in to iTunes, iCloud, and the App Store. I also re-logged in on my 2 iOS devices, and it's all good. <happy dance>
Now, if I could only figure out the screwy problem with Safari and the idsma.apple.com and appleid.apple.com servers. Meh. I can log in w/ Firefox, and at least I can actually do some damned WORK on my computer now (it's only been 4 days iof this BS)!
TL;DR, try this:
1. Make the time zone on the Mac not automatic (but correct to your time and zone), and change something in that pref. pane so that it overwrites the old prefs file.
2. Log out of iMessages, iCloud, etc., on your iOS devices
3. Un-associate your Apple ID with your computer user login (in System Preferences > Users and Groups).
4. Sign out of iCloud on your Mac.
5. Reboot.
6. Re-associate your Apple ID with your user login. If you see a caution icon next to it, double-click. Should disappear.
7. Launch iMessages and attempt to log in.
8. Then log in to iCloud via System Preferences > iCloud
If that doesn't work, do these steps, then go back to # 1, above.
9. Delete all the Apple tokens and keys in the Keychain (might break some other things--may be why I can't log in via Safari right now).
10. Reinstall Mavericks/OS X.
11. Repeat steps 1–8.
Final thoughts: My serial number did appear in System Information, and I'd never had the motherboard replaced (or anything else, for that matter) on this Mac. However, this is an Apple Certified refurbished Mac, and it could be that the motherboard was replaced before I ever even owned it. Again, my S/N displayed as it was supposed to, but it could that this was part of the problem. Seems far-fetched, but...

• Can't log into FaceTime/iMessage

Works on all my other Macs, Pads, Phones on the network except one machine. Tries to log in the says "If this is a new Apple ID, you do not need to create another one. To use this Apple ID with FaceTime, contact FaceTime support with the code below.
Customer Code: 0850-9617-6276
Called Apple and they want $29 to talk.
Got to be something I'm overlooking...
help

There is no official public documentation of that alert as far as I know.
If you're trying to sign in to FaceTime, try to sign in to iMessage in the Messages application, or vice versa.
Otherwise, do as the alert directs. According to reports, you won't be charged for the support call if you select "Apple ID"—not the hardware model—as the product you're asking about, and cite the "customer code" in the alert as the "validation code" when you speak to the Apple representative.

• I can't log in on iMessage and Facetime on iOS7

I tried to activate iMessage and Facetime on my iPhone 4S with iOS 7. They won't let me log in. On imessage it is just sending everything in a text message not an imessage. Facetime wont even work. Every time I try, a message pops up and says, "Try to connect to network availability..." My wifi is working. It is working on my moms iphone 5.

back your Iphone up onto itunes. MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS. otherwise you will lose everything.
go to your iphone, and hit settings < General < Reset < Erase all content and settings. Once you do this. youll ned to go into itunes on your computer and restore your backup. this will take about 10 minutes or so. After that. your imessage should be working. you will lose all your music, but as long as your bought them off itunes it wont be problem putting them back on your Iphone.
after hours of talking to Apple tech, telling me i just have to wait. I took a shot in the dark and it fixed.. give it a shot. just make sure you back up your iphone into itunes from your computer.
hope this helps everyone!

I changed my password to my iTunes account and then it kept asking me to sign back into things like FaceTime, iTunes/apps store and iMessage. I successfully logged back into iTunes, App Store and FaceTime but when i try and sign into iMessage it's says an error has occurred while logging in. Please heeelppp

Same thing was happening to me! Setting>general>reset>reset all settings. As soon as u do the reset, your iPad will restart. Connect to your wifi, input your wifi password, click iMessage and verify your apple account again. It should work! It did for me! Good luck!!

• Why does the "set automatically" button keep turning off in the my date & time area of my settings? When it is off I can not use facetime or imessages.keep during off on my iPad?

I wasn't able to use FaceTime or iMessages and found out it was because the "set auomatically" button was off under date & time in the settings area. Why does tha button turn off?

I wouldn't suggest going to get it yourself. You could find yourself in a situation you cannot get out of and could get hurt. Second, as stated before, it is more for misplaced or lost devices, not stolen devices. Many police agencies do not feel they have probable cause, just from your statement on a map location to justify attempts to recover the device. There have been many posts from others who have had devices stolen where the police will not confront someone based on that map location. I understand you are impacted by the theft, but this is what we have insurance for. To protect your content, from now on I suggest you put a passcode on the device. I hope you have changed all of the passwords for accounts you had on the device, since all of your content and data was accessible to the thief.

I've checked several other similar questions and tried everything, I can't uninstall and I would reset my mac to factory settings, where it erases everything, but I have expensive programs on here that I can't transfer until later. Anyone have a clue what to do?
