Can't login IE11 windows 8.1 HP laptop

The BT sport website freezes when I try to login in via IE11 using windows 8.1 on my laptop. There is no error message, and task manager shows no activity, it just sits there. I have to close the browser to exit.
I can login using Chrome on the same laptop but then I can't watch videos as silver light not supported. I can login on my iPad but that's not the point!
I can't login to the main BT site either . I tried turning off mcAfee in case that was a problem...
I've worked round it by downloading Firefox but how can I fix this?

  • SBS 2011 Domain Accounts Can't Login To Windows 8 PC

    One of our Windows 8.1 machines is no longer allowing domain accounts (except admin) to login to the PC.  This PC was a fresh setup and was joined to the domain in January.  When I log into the PC with the network admin and go to logs I get the
    following message related to group polocies not being able to be applied (now it won't let me connect at all).  I'll upload log files as soon as I can connect again.
    We are running an SBS 2011 server that handles all ad, dns, exchange 2010, remote web access, etc.
    Any ideas on what may be going wrong or how I should troubleshoot the issue?

  • Can't login to Windows 10

    I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Technical Preview. After first updating I was able to access the desktop. I noticed everything was sluggish so I attempted to reboot. When the OS loaded and I was presented with the login screen there was no place
    for me to put a password. I can see my account, but there's no where to put a password to login. I've rebooted several times with no luck. I can access the wifi, ease of access, etc., but there's no where for me to login.
    Please advise!

    Yes, I've restarted several times. I've shutdown completely and restarted. Same results.
    I have no more ideas except reinstalling back to Win 8.1. I hope you do have a Win 8.1 installation disk created.
    After you are back to Win 8.1, and you still want to install Win 10 TP, you have 3 choices......
    1. Install Win 10 TP build 10041 over Win 8.1. Like you did but this time using 10041 ISO file.
    2. Dual boot with Win 8.1 and Win 10 TP 10041 using the ISO file.( That's how I did mine ).
    3. Install 10041 in a virtual machine using the ISO file.
    For both choice #2 and #3, you will have 2 operating systems in your computer. Any time you want to, you can delete 10041 in just a few clicks.
    Your Win 8.1 will remain intact, untouched.

  • Can't login to Windows XP Pro over network

    I was trying to get access to a shared folder on a Windows XP Pro machine. When I tried to connect, it kept on telling me that the password was incorrect. At first, there was no password, so I left that line blank. Then I set a password on the Windows machine, but got the same error after entering the correct password. I was able to access the Mac from the Windows machine, which allowed me to drag & drop the file I was trying to transfer. I would just like to know why I can't connect to the Windows machine - it makes no sense. File sharing is setup on both machines, along with Window sharing on the Mac. If anyone has any ideas, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    The causes could be IE settings, firewall and proxy.
    A similar case was resolved by reseting the IE settings:

  • Can't Login to Windows Live Messenger

    I own 2 companies and I cannot login to my Windows Live Instant messenger application that I have downloaded through the BB app world to work on either of my phones. This started happening when they upgraded 2 upgrades ago. I receive an "Error 65" message on both phones. I know the user name and password is correct and I am getting this for the 2 different login's that I am attempting to login with also. One phone is an 8900 and the other is a 8310. Any help is appreciated.

  • Can't login to windows server 2008

    I have a remote windows server 2008 through rackspace. I was trying to block all outside connections to the outside world except on the domain of my company. When I did this, I blocked all connections now I can't get to the server. Any ideas?

    Is your domain is in Rackspace? Have you change the firewall rule on the server itself? Now how you are trying to access the server? R u using remote Desktop?  Actually Private connections are within the network where some trust relation ships are
    there. if you block all the connections using the firewall on Domain then the clients may not connect to the domain and some times RDP won't work because of Firewall. So try to change the rule once.

    You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.

    I installed Oracle Express Ed 11g Release 2 32bit on windows XP 32bit and I can not login ito it. Installation asked for a password to be created at installation which I used to login with.
    The login window is started from a shortcut that installation created on my desktop. I tried to download and install three times. I went thru a SW removable before another download. The login responds with "Invalid Login Credentials"

    What could be the issue? Could be many different causes. Mistyping the password is one, or the database could be offline but in most cases that will give a different error message. Open a command box, Start/Run/cmd and try:
    $ sqlplus /nolog
    connect system
    ... Password ... <the one used with the installer> ... Connected.
    select name from v$database;
    login window is started from a shortcut If you're talking about the Apex page, the one that opens a web browser to http://<hostname>:8080/apex and that one needs Apex credentials, not database user credentials. Apex users can be mapped to database users but that is something done via the apex administrator.
    Two database accounts "out of the box" are SYS and SYSTEM users, those are special- SYS owns the catalog, SYSTEM is a user with dba role privileges, almost as powerful within the database as the SYS user.

  • How can I recover from Windows login failure: User Profile Service failed the login

    I have Boot Camp installed on a separate partition on a MacBook Pro, late 2011 model. I have Mavericks installedd (10.9.1). I use, variously, both Parallels and VM Fusion to access the BootCamp installation of Windows 7.
    Except for having recently installed updates of both VMFusion and Parallels, I got this failure message when trying to login to Windows:: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
    I had just been on Windows a few moments previously to access a business site that only accepts IE. Appreciate any useful insight on dealing with this issue without having to totally replace the BootCamp installation. A lot of the suggestions on Microsoft Windows repair sites are either incomprehensible or don't seem applicable.

    Same problem here. Windows 7 support gives several so-called fixes (including regedit tweaks, eliminating the blocked user account), but all require access to that partition. So far as I know, I have only one user, since this is my personal computer -- unless there is some sort of default "administrator" logon.
    Windows support says the problem might be caused by antivirus software running while we try to logon, but this problem has never happened to me before, and I have not made anti-virus changes (maybe AVG or Avast did so automatically)
    I tried to access regedit through Finder, but get a garbled text-edit with the message that regedit cannot be opened by DOS.
    So I wonder (a) is there a default admin logon? (b) Can we tinker with the settings inside Windows from Finder, or (c) how else can we get into Windows?
    My setup: Macbook Pro (Fall 2010), 10.6.8, boot camp, Windows 7.

    i use iWeb to make a password protected web page and publish to .Mac. I test it at home using my iMac G5 with Safari and Firefox, everything is ok.
    when i am at office today, i test it by using Windows XP PC with Firefox and IE, it just keep asking me the user name and password, i can not login the web page.
    i am sure the user name and password is correct.

    I am having the same problem. A friend who uses AOL cannot log in either. Yet I can from my computer with either Safari or Firefox and even with the old version of Explorer that sleeps in the app folder.
