Can't login isql*plus as sys sysdba

Installed 10g on Windows XP SP3.
Everything works fine except can not login as sys sysdba via url
http://I6000D:5560/isqlplus/dba
It prompts for ONLY username and password and connection ID. however, I don't where to enter 'As sysdba'. Tried put 'as sysdba' in each field but no use.
No problem from DOS command prompt: connect sys/pwd as sysdba

Confused about the info on the web site regarding enabling dba
- Do i do the enabling only, or everything after enabling, like ' To set up the iSQL*Plus DBA URL'?
- for enabling dba access, please provide detailed instructions since I have very little time to get this resolved
That web site pointing to a lot of documents. do not know which doc to look into...
Thanks for the help,
Dennis

  • Where can I get iSQL*Plus

I'd like to get a copy of iSQL*Plus for Oracle 8.1.7 for NT/Win2K. Upgrading to 9i isn't an option now.
I've seen references to a beta-copy for 8i but all of the links towards getting this have been dead-ends.
    Thanks so much.
    David

I can't install 9i anywhere which is part of the problem.
Right now they're trying to decide on the foundation architecture for the next 2-3 years. Proprietary software maintenance is eating them alive.
Im suggesting web-based technology with thin/ultra-thin clients and maybe Oracle 9iAS/Portal. I had folks interested enough but they needed to see something in action. Something they could work with and relate to, but something that wouldnt disrupt on-going work, take up space, or require a time investment.
Since iSQL*Plus is supposed to be the wave of the future, it looked like a perfect solution. It works with the existing platform, is web-based, has a tiny footprint, and can eliminate the heavier SQL*Plus deployment.
    Thanks anyway.

  • I can't get Isql*plus page in browser

    Hi All,
I have installed Oracle 10g on Windows xp professional and all seemed fine.I was able to acces the EM with this http://host:5500/em which was in C:\ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini.
I had this entry for isql*plus :http://host:5560/isqlplus .Yet when I type this in address bar, I get page cannot be displayed?
    Why is this so?
    1)I have ping server_name
2)I have started isqlplusctl like this :C\isqlplusctl start
    "Isql*plus started"
Why can't I get a page for Isql*plus from my browser?
    Please help!
    Thanks

    1. Ensure that iSQL*Plus is start from the Windows Services or from the command prompt using isqlplus start
    2. From the Browser, ensure that the port is correct. It must not be port 5560. So you need to check in $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini for the correct port.
    http://host:5560/isqlplus

Have a look at the contents of portlist.ini which should be located in your {Oracle Home}/install folder.
This lists the ports that have been set up for listening on for each part of Oracle.

  • Login in sysdba mode from isql*plus in oracle9i

what is a operating system user in oracle and how to create it?
how to log in isql*plus with sys or system user with sysdba or sysoper ?

If you are using a 10.x version of iSQL*Plus, you'll need to use JAZN to set up a user to access the iSQL*Plus DBA URL. This is protected by default, using Basic authentication. So you'll need to set this up manually, then login with the credentials you create. The doc for this is here:

  • Thanks. A new problem when connecting isql*plus to database

    Thanks for everyone helping me.
I can browse the isql*plus page now. However, When I connect isql*plus to the database, I got the error displayed in the isqlplus login browser screen:
    ERROR:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
    Pls help.

Can you connect to it from command line SQL*Plus?
It sounds like the database is not running. You should start up the database and try again.

  • Using iSQL*Plus outside the Interanet

    Please help me,
I have a web server www.myweb.com on Windows 2000 and on separate computer of the above domain I have Oracle 9i database server. I can use the iSQL*Plus in local intranet like https://mydataserver:4443/isqlplus etc.
Now the question is that, how can I use the isqlplus outside of my local intranet through my web server. There is no fixed IP of database server and only web services of http are running.
    Thanks.
    Jamil

It is no different to accessing any other web server. You'll need to open up the port on your firewall to allow the HTTP(S) traffic through.

  • ISQL*Plus and customizations

    <soapbox>
Yes this is an actual iSQL*PLUS question
    </soapbox>
I've noticed that the interface uses CSS and that some customizations can be done through that .css file. Are there any plans for any other user end customizations to the i*plus enviroment?
    Charles

    Charles,
Thanks so much for your ideas! I'll log enhancement requests for them, and we can prioritise them along with the other requests.
What sort of customisations would you like to have?
As for release dates, there will be a 9.0.0 beta release available in Oracle9i beta, and a the production release will be available in Oracle9i release 9.0.1 (production). Unfortunately, we're still only releasing iSQL*Plus on NT, but we are working hard to port to other platforms. No news on availability yet though.
This is a public forum, and we don't want to stop people posting general questions, although the iSQL*Plus team won't generally answer those questions. We keep our eyes peeled for iSQL*Plus questions and will answer them as quickly as we can.

  • Questions re: iSQL*Plus on 10g

Does iSQL*Plus come with Standard Edition? I just completed an install of a 1-node RAC with 10g on Windows 2003R2 and iSQL*Plus doesn't have a service, the install.txt file is 0 bytes, and the URL responds with "Internal Service Error". There is no conf file available.
Also, does installing Application Express (i.e. HTML-DB) affect iSQL*Plus? I would like to have both running, but I can do without iSQL*Plus if necessary.

iSQL*Plus is bundled with Standard Edition.
Check ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee dir. Under this directory, there should be a directory call isqlplus.
if there is no problem during installation, isqlplus service should start.
installing Application Express should not effect iSQL*Plus.

  • Why I am not able to login by ISQL*PLUS?

Hello any one can help me?
I installed RHEL.4 with my pentium 3 machine with 512mb of RAM. I installed with 4 partition /,/boot, /oracle and swap partition.Linux is running pretty fine. i installed Oracle 9i release 2 successfully without any error except agent get fail. Now i skiped the DBCA database creation and created manually using OMF.Now I am not able to connect my database by using ISQL*PLUS. can i get help? as well as how to login in iSQL*PLUS as sysdba? should i configure apache induvidually if yes how to do that?

Make sure your Apache http server is up and running, this is the entry point to your isqlplus in 9iR2
    apachectl start
Once started, get access to the regular url to your apache home page:
    http://hostname:ApachePort/isqlplus
investigate which one is the port used by your http server, Oracle by default sets it to 7777. This can be found at the httpd.conf configuration file.
On the other hand, in order for you to access as isqlplusdba, this should be enabled at the isqlplus.conf file found at the $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/conf directory, you will find both, sqlplus and isqlplus locations declared on the same file, the second one is commented. It is configured so you provide a password by means of the regular apache authentication mechanism, it's up to you if you wan to use it or just rely on the sysdba password to gain access to your database.

  • After 9i (9.2.0.1)Install on Windows 2003 cannot login as sys/sysdba/system

    Hello all,
    I need to someone's help.
I just installed Oracle After 9i (9.2.0.1)Install on Windows 2003.
I can only login using scott/tiger.
    cannot login as sys/sysdba/system
I used Oracle dtabase Configuration Assistant. At the last step it asked me if I want to change sys and system passwords, I did. However, I cannot verify if system took those. The default combinations system/manager sys/change_on_install are not working.
As well as my new passwords.
    How can I resolve it?
    Thank you in advance,
    Sonya

Recall what you used and you should be able to login .
    OR
On windows create new password for sys user. This should work for you since you are on windows OS
back up the file in you ORACLE_HOME/database/PWD<SID>.ora
    Create a new one using
    orapwd file=...database/PWD<sid>.ora password=<new password> entries=5
    stop the oracleService<SID>
    start the oracleService<SID>
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect sys as sysdba
    Enter password: <new password>
You should be able to login with this new password created

  • SQL*Plus/iSQL*Plus login as DBA

I just installed 10g Enterprise on a Windows platform and am a bit confused to why I cannot log into SQL*Plus/iSQL as a DBA. I can login as one of the user accounts then use 'connect' to login as dba in SQL*Plus or at the Windows command prompt. I cannot do this, however, in iSQL*Plus. One of the threads on this forum pointed me to using JAZN after installing OC4J. I am in the process of doing this, but I need to understand something apparently fundamental: why should I have to perform another install when the Universal Installer installed iSQL and all the features that came with it? Didn't the 10g download give me the tools necessary to administer its application's accounts? The OC4J download page states that this tool should not be used to replace an existing 10g installation.
Moreover, why iSQL knows about the 'users' authorization level, but not 'system?' I can see the users and groups in the Enterprise Manager, but no features to set WebDBA users as iSQL*Plus requests.
Your comments would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
in order to use iSQL*Plus as DBA, you have to perform additional configuration. See
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14357/ch2.htm#BCEIHEJF
By the way: Get used to a different tool like SQL*Plus linemode or SQL Developer, because iSQL*Plus disappears in future versions.
    Kind regards
    Uwe
