Can't login to account to enable filevault2

I have a 2013 Mac Mini, I can enable Filevault 2 and setup the security answers and set recovery key to be stored with Apple okay. The mac mini reboots and presents the login page for the accounts to be secured but the wired mouse only moves vertically, I cannot move in the normal way to click on my user account to login to start the encryption process. I tried tabbing to the user account to then hit enter key  but this doesn't work either.
I have to reboot the mac mini to break out of the file vault encryption setup as per the screen instructions.
Has anyone else experienced this and have a solution please?

  • I can't reply to a post because I'm not logged in. Can't login - no account. Can't register, no register option. HELP!!!!

    Gosh, you guys make it really, really, really difficult to register an account with Mozilla.
    I have to ask a question, but I actually wanted to post a reply. I need to login to my account to post a reply, but I don't have an account. I want to register for an account, but there is no option on your site to do that. All that happens is that I end up in a loop. Best of all: I have no idea how I ended up here where I can actually register for an account. But it is most definitely not the normal way of how one would expect to register in the natural world.
    Please, Mozilla, your products are great. Please fix this.

    Does this forum not give you a chance to login or register if you try to answer a post? Are you allowing this forum to set cookies? You need to allow cookies if you want to stay logged in.

    I have tried to login to my account, but now am unable to, it logs me in but I can not navigate any of the My Verizon options, i get the following error:

    Yes, I've been having the exact same problem. I opened a best buy credit card and tried to purchase a MacBook Pro but if I'm able to finally get through all the password nonsense and SOMEHOW finally log in then when I go to checkout it asks for my username and password again and tells me that my password or email address is incorrect. I don't understand how/why this is happening and why best buy doesn't want my money. I've tried all the steps that have been suggested to no avail. Very frustrating.

    I can imagine how frustrating it must be to not be able to log in to your account to purchase your MacBook Pro.
    I have gone ahead and reset your password. Please note, for security purposes, the link will expire within 3 hours. Please make sure you have cleared the cookies, cache and clear all the saved data in the browser, use all lower case letters when creating a new password and perhaps try using a different browser. Also you will need to re-add your credit card information, as it is is deleted with the password reset. Please let me know if this does not solve the problem, and I will look into it further. In the meantime you can also check out as a guest or visit your local Best Buy store.

    Have you upgraded to BBM7? if yes i would recommend downgrading because for some people quite a number of problems has been caused affecting the whole phone and not only BBM.
    If that isnt the case, you will have to do a soft reset on your phone and my recommendation is to either create a new BlackBerry ID or try your best to configure your old one with the phone, whilst everything that isnt back up will be removed

    Hi,
    I can't login my account on my Xperia. Let's just say I forgot my password and I tried using the change password but it said that my email address is not valid. I checked wether my spelling is incorrect but not and I am more than 105% sure that I used the correct email address because there is a link of my Xperia in the inbox of my email. Two email address I used doesn't work. This happened after I reset my Z2. Can someone help me, because how am I supposed to locate my xperia incase I lost it?

    I think this is the problem. .hackers is no valid cookie domain. You have to use something like:
    .xy.ab
    (two points)
    I fear it is not possible to correct this easiely. First change the hostname to something allowed e.g. hackers.com
    Then open an ldap browser and edit ou=iplanetamplatformservice,ou=services,dc=hackers
    There is an entry with an xml. Copy the xml to an editor, search for .hackers, change it to a valid domainname.
    Im not sure if a restart of the webserver is necessary here.
    Another idea: You could also try to set the cookie domain to solnce.hackers, maybe this is accepted, even if it is not a cookie domain. But I dont know if this works...

  • Can't login to my account after installing OS X Server

    Just some background info:
    I have had a mac mini for 2 years now and I backup to an external hard drive using Time Machine. My wife just got a new Macbook Air and I wanted to make sure her she was covered with Time Machine, but without having to unplug my external hard drive or buy a new one exclusively for her. I also don't want to pay the money for a Time Capsule as I already have a fantastic router. I read that I could accomplish what I want using Mac OS X Server and it's centralized Time Machine service.
    Well I paid $20, installed OS X Server, created her a user account and enabled the Time Machine Service. I left all other Server services disabled as far as I know... Then I (foolishly?) decided to wipe my external drive with my mac mini's time machine backups figuring it may be best to start with a freshly formatted drive when setting this up. So I formatted my external drive, and started to do my 1st initial backup for my mac mini. I only have about 60GB to backup and it was hanging 1/4 done for hours so I figured something was wrong. I stopped the backup and decided to reboot. After rebooting, I'm prompted to login to my wife's account. This is strange because 1) My mac mini usually auto logs into my account 2) I've never logged into her account on my mac mini. 3) I never intended to have an account for her on my mac mini. So now I have no idea how to login to my mac mini using my username. I tried typing in the password I created for her on OS X server but it says "Your account does not have a valid home directory. Contact your system administrator for more information". All I see is my wife's name and the option to login to her... Which I can't. The only other options I get are Sleep, Restart, and Shut Down. I'm freaking out right now, how can I change the user to my user? Or as the administrator? I can't get into my mac at all right now.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Since you erased the external drive that might have had Server's library, I would suggest doing a clean install of the operating system you had on the Mini, then reinstall Server. You can see here on how to create a bootable USB Yosemite drive and here for a clean install of Yosemite.

    Have you tried a safeboot? It can fix allot of account issues. Like accounts vanishing from the login list.
    if that doesn't work, You change the login window to Name & Password, then you can try logging in with the account name "guest". dos it let you login?
    if that doesn't work, can you post the output of  "dscl . read /users/Guest" ?  (skip JPEGPhoto)

    For info we are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
    You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
    You might then need to log out of your account on your iOS device by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them.
    If that doesn't fix it then contact iTunes Support and see if they can/will unlock it : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Can't login to my account after upgrading to Mavericks

    I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro.  I have had no problems up until upgrading to Mavericks.  I did a complete backup using Time Machine prior upgrading.  I have a 750 GB hard disk with about 70 GB of free space.  This computer has been bullet proof for 5 years now.
    Anyway, I tried to upgrade to Mavericks when the OS came out but was unsuccessful at that time.  It just hung up halfway through the install.  I decided to just restore than to waste time figuring out what happened.
    Fast forward to yesterday.  I decided to give it a try again.  The download and install completed without any problems.  However, I can not login to my machine using my account.  After entering my password, I am just getting the spinning rainbow wheel or whatever it is called.  Techincally, I have two accounts, one for me and one for girlfriend.  She never used hers so mine has been the only one we have ever used on the computer.  That account does have admin permissions and that is also the one where I started the upgrade from.
    Things I have tried so far...
    1) Added another admin account to try and remove unused applications just in case old programs were no longer compatible. Btw, I can successfully log into this account.  This is actually the account were I am logged into currently and using Safari to document this problem.
    2) Launched File Utility.  I did verify disk permissions and then repair after it completed.  No luck.  I also did Verify Disk but that did not return any problems.
    3) I also did a reinstall of Mavericks again but the same problem still exists. 
    Btw, I did notice when logged in as Admin to the newly created account, that the Downloads, Desktop and Movies folder under my original user account have a little icon or stop sign next to their name when viewing through Finder.   Permission problem?  Even if that is the case, not sure why I would not be able to login into my original account.
    Any ideas?  Worst case I will restore my backup and just forget about Mavericks all together.  I guess if I have nothing better to do some day in the future maybe I will do a fresh install and try to restore my personal files back.  However that sounds like a lot of work.

    And me. And I tried to reset my password by getting the "password token" emailed to me. Once received I clicked on the link to reset my password and it told me that my "password token wasn't recognized" and to enter it manually. I did that, going as far as to cut and paste the token, and it wasn't "recognized" again.
    And when I was able to sign in, I couldn't get any new contacts, even though I knew they were presently signed in.
