Can't Login To iCloud on Mac - Post Mobileme transition

Last week when all of the updates hit, I set my iMac and Macbook to use my Apple Store/iTunes ID for the iCloud and kept my MobileMe settings as-is (not knowing what all I should have done...transition tool was broken anyway). Today, I see that the MobileMe->iCloud transition process is working, so I "upgrade" my MobileMe account and started running into issues. This is where I'm at now:
1. iPhone - iCloud settings reset to match up with my transitioned MobileMe account (it was set to my iTunes ID); all seems fine. Store settings still set to my iTunes ID per Apple's instructions for "iTunes in the Cloud".
2. iMac - I followed the MobileMe transition instructions and ended up in the MobileMe section of preferences, which now says my MobileMe account has been upgraded to iCloud.
3. I go to the iCloud settings and sign out of the iTunes ID I had in there from last week and attempt to login with my iCloudified MobileMe account.
4. iCloud login says to use my MobileMe info as my primary iCloud ID, I need to delete it from my mail, calendar & contacts settings. I tried doing exactly that, but it fails each time I try.
What gives? I thought that if we have a normal iTunes/apple store ID and a MobileMe account, we should use the iTunes one for "iTunes in the Cloud" and use our MobileMe login for the normal iCloud...at least that's how I read the Apple support docs. Do my iCloud sett

Solved. Just an FYI, once you go through the step of deleting your MobileMe stuff from the mail, contacts, and calendar settings, reboot THEN do the iCloud login prefs page. Once I did that, all started working again.

    Hey jamesarm97 & diegofoto,
On August 21st, some users may have been unable to access iCloud services for a short period of time. Apple worked quickly to resolve these issues, however you two may have experienced them. To check the current status of these systems please see:

  • Can't login into iCloud on Mac

When i'm trying to login into my iCloud Account on my Mac, it's shows "Account limit reached".
    What should i do?

my first id was hacked and i don't want to use, and then i made it id, may be some one, created some id's from my mac, but is there something that i can log in into iCloud with my new id into this mac?

  • Can't login to iCloud messages and FaceTime

i can't login to iCloud imessages and FaceTime.

This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are many possible causes for it. Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
Before proceeding, test on another network, if possible. That could be a public Wi-Fi hotspot, if your computer is portable, or a cellular network if you have a mobile device that can share its Internet connection. If you find that iMessage works on the other network, the problem is in your network or at your ISP, not in your computer.
    Step 1
Check the status of the service. If the service is down, wait for it to come back up. There may be a localized outage, even if the status indicator is green.
    Step 2
Sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your Apple devices. Log out and log back in. Try again to sign in.
    Step 3
Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. You may have to skip this step if you don't control those devices.
    Step 4
    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ About This Mac
Below the "OS X" legend in the window that opens, the OS version appears. Click the version line twice to display the serial number. If the number is missing or invalid according to this web form, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.
    Step 5
Take the steps suggested in this support article. If you don't understand some of the steps or can't carry them out, ask for guidance.
    Step 6
    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If the box marked SOCKS Proxy is checked, uncheck it. You don’t need to change any other settings in the window. Click OK and then Apply. Test.
The result may be that you can't connect to the Internet at all. Revert the change if that happens, or if iMessage still doesn't work. Remember that you must Apply any changes you make in the preference pane before they take effect.
    Step 7
    Select from the menu bar
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
    and click
Block all sites from storing information on this computer
    Close the preference pane.
    Step 8
Make sure you know the ID and password you use with iMessage. Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to find and delete all items with "iMessage" or "com.apple.idms" in the name. Log out and log back in.
    Step 9
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
If iMessage worked in the guest account, stop here and post your results.
    Step 10
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound outputand Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. After testing, restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and test again.
If iMessage worked in safe mode, but still doesn't work when you restart in "normal" mode, stop here and post your results.
    Step 11
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.apsd.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 12
    Reset the NVRAM.
    Step 13
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).
    Step 14
    Reinstall OS X.
    Step 15
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or contact Apple Support. When you set up a support call, select "Apple ID" as the product you need help with, not the hardware model. That way, if you're not under AppleCare, you may be able to talk your way out of being charged for the call.

  • Can't login to iCloud! Really need help!

    Hi, i have been trying to find a solution so i can login into icloud on mac preferences but can't, i get this error message;
"You can't sign in at this time. Try signing in again later."
I can login to the app store and on my iPhone and iPad. Any help really appreciated!

    SOLVED....for me, anyway
Okay, here's what worked for me after upgrading to Mavericks (it should work for you, too):
    (1) Deleted all the files in:
    User(your name)/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts/
    (2) Shut down the computer, waited 15-20 seconds and turned it back on.
    (3) Then I went to
    System Preferences
    iCloud icon
    (4) Input the requested information and followed the directions to be back in business.
But, first you must be able to see the folder because it is hidden:
Use Finder and click on Utilities then Terminal
Type in (very carefully) the following exactly:
    Chflaga nohidden ~/Library
    Then
    Finder
    Go
    Computer
    User account name/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts
Remember, the files are under your user account and not the harddrive.

  • Can not login to icloud at this time...

    Hi
So, I do not get this. I have tried to setup an icloud account for my dad on his MacBook Pro running 10.8.2, using his Apple id.
It just says that it can not login to icloud at this time, but I can login icloud.com using the same user/password via safari.
So, what is this ?? Anyone with a similar experience ?
    Thanks.
    stj.

    Workaround - works
I backed up and deleted the children's accounts on the Mac, recreated them as normal accounts with no Parental Controls and setup all of the iCould mail and other apps.
I then locked down the browser for sites like google and youtube to use their explicit content blocking.
I then added parental controls to the accounts.
All is now working correctly although there is clearly an issue,
If you can be bothered to do this, you'll be fine.

Well, you're gonna have to recover the password for that Apple ID:

My Apple ID is all of a sudden not an iCloud account.
So it says any way. It used to work until a few days ago, but now iCloud can't register the ID and Outlook can't login to iCloud from my pc. Anyone else faced this problem or know how to deal with it?

    Ditto here.
I tried setting up iClunk today.....
.....on my Windows 7 64bit computer.
I click on the iCloud icon in the Network & Internet section; the iCloud sign in window pops up and I type in my Apple user ID and password and it replies that I need to setup a separate iCloud account....even though it plainly states that for the user to "Sign in with your Apple ID".
    Go figure.

  • I can't login into iCloud on my Mac

    Hello,
Yesterday I've decided to change my Apple ID to a new email address, so I did it. I updated on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 with no problems. When I changed on my Mac OS X 10.7.3 I received an error saying that I couldn't start my session on iCloud and asks me to try again. I've already changed my password, restarted my Mac, updated my system and still the same. Funny thing is I can login at iCloud.com and iTunes Store.

Please, I would like suggestions for my problem. Thanks.

  • Can't login using Firefox. (Mac OS X)

I can't login to Adobe or the forum using Firefox (v30.0) Mac, which is my main browser. I'm only logged in right now using Safari.
Here is a screen shot of the errors in the error console.
I see this problem in archived threads, and they seemed to have solved it by disabling the extension HTTPS-Anywhere, but I don't have that extension.

You are right. Somehow I was in the beta channel. By the time I made this reply, I was already up to Firefox 31, which had the same problem.
I just did a clean install of Firefox, and got off the beta channel, however the problem is that I'm still now with Firefox 30 and it has the same problem.
It's weird. When I go to login, the page hangs, but when I leave the page to go to another Adobe page, I'm already logged in.
However if I try to do anything like see my licenses, I get sent back to the login page and it hangs.
Here I am again, posting from Safari.

  • Can't logout old iCloud from Mac

I have an old iCloud logged in with my Mac and it tied to my mac user account too. I created a new iCloud account because I failed to change the email address for the old one at the beginning. I tried to change in system preference, was asked to enter password and i did with the password that i was using, failed to login. I went to the whole iForgot thing trying to reset my password, entered my old iCloud email and they said that they have sent me an email with instruction how to reset password and I never received any... I'm now stuck between new and old iCloud account. All the applications are in new iCloud but not the laptop user account. I can shut down the computer and login with old iCloud and old passport when I turn it on, but I can't login with the same way when I just simply log out from the user account. It doesn't allow me to change/add any user account to this laptop because it doesn't accept my old password and it is still in the old iCould. What I can do to delete/change the old iCloud in this laptop to my new one that I am using.

  • Can't login to icloud

I have had an apple id for quite a while, it's just my username, for example  "jsmith"
I use this id for iTunes, and App Store.
however on my new iPhone when I try to setup iCloud it says I must have a "@icloud.com" account. How do i convert my current apple id so I can use it with iCloud?

It tells me to add a device when I user "jsmith"
...very annoying. I can't login until I create an association with a device, but you can't add a device until you login.
