I'm using Canon D520 printer. With Lion OS X i can't make any duplex print.
Any one can help to fix this issue,

How can I return back to OSx after installing Lion?

I'm disappointed. After installing Lion, everything is slower. The best thing I had last year was my new MacBook Pro, because everything was fast.. (sleep, opening programs, multitasking...etc) Now, everything takes forever. How can I return back to OSx?

Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard. I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.

Why am i getting poor quality photo prints after installing lion using canon pixma 6120?

After installing Lion, I began experiencing poor quality photo prints on my Canon Pixma 6120 printer. Prior to Lion, my picture prints were all high quality. Now, anything black in the picture is faded.

Lion should not cause the blacks to print faded. The printer drivers used by Snow Leopard and Leopard are the same version as that used by Lion.
For starters I suggest you check that you have the latest version installed. This Apple KB article shows the MG6100 series has v10.51.2.0 as the latest version.
I also recommend you do a Nozzle test print. This can be executed from the MG6120 control panel or via the Printer Utilties window (via Print & Scan, select the printer and then open Options & Supplies and then select the Utilties tab).
If the nozzle test print is okay but the blacks still look faded when printing photos (note the printer has two black ink tanks - one for photos and one for text) then try a reset of the printing system. This will remove the MG6120 from the Print & Scan pane but not the supporting drivers. So you will only have to add the printer again.

Can't read from WD storage after installing lion

Thanx for the suggestion. Sounds like an ugly work-around and not a true solution. Unfortunately for me, the two Panther machines (one is a laptop) can not be easily co-located with a printer. Any chance that the problem is due to a known software bug for which a fix might be forthcoming? Also, wondering if it's known that it won't work to hook the printer up directly to the Tiger machine and have the Panther machines print through the Tiger one. —Ken

I get an error when I try to print after installing Lion - worked under Snow Leopard - /System/Library/Printers/Libraries/PrintJobMgr/Contents/MacOS/PrintJobMgr failed

I have not been able to print pictures nor any text since installing Lion. I receive the message in the subject which is totally meaningless.

When you upgrade from a previous OS there is always a chance that you will bring some setting that is not compatible with the new OS. This can be the driver as noondaywitch suggests but it can also be the core printing system. In the case of the latter, it is a good idea to reset the printing system when a core error occurs. Note that the reset sets the printing system back to default and removes your currently installed printer and scanner queues. But it does not remove the supporting drivers, so you only need to install the driver again.
How to Reset the Printing System
1. Open System Preferences > Print & Scan/Fax
2. Move your mouse over the Printers list
3. Hold down the Control button and click the mouse
4. Click the "Reset printing system ..." popup
5. Restart your Mac
Just one additional thing to note. In checking the supported printer list for 10.6 from Apple, your RC545 is not listed so running the Software Update will not provide you with a driver for this printer. So if Epson does not have a driver for 10.6, and it appears that Apple does not provide one, then what you have already from the previous installation is it. And if this doesn't work, then you may have to look at either an alternate driver or getting another printer. But let's wait and see what happens after the reset.

Can't get printers to print after installing new modem

I just installed a new wireless modem. My 2 printers are the OfficeJet 6500 E709N and C7200, operating on Windows 7-64. Both printers are connected to the network, both say they are ready to print, but when I try to print I get an error "Printer-status error". I check the printer status from the cntrol panel and it has the triangle sign with exclamation point inside. When I cancel all documents from printing it immediately goes back to being ready again, but the same thing happens over and over again with both the printers and both computers. Hope this is clear...I'm pretty computer illiterate. I usually can mess around until I get something fixed, but have no idea how it happened. I've been working on this problem for hours and just can't get it. Everything worked fine until I installed the mode, but I was able to connect them both to the network. HELP!!!

Turns out my problem appears to be the USB 2.0 Hub I was using. When I hooked the printer up directly to the iMac, it works as advertised. I wonder what is the issue with USB hubs and 10.5.6? It worked fine with 10.4.11. Any ideas about this one?

I performed all the windows xp updates when I installed xp.
Our computer has labview 6.0 and 6.1 on it. I thought maybe they were causing a problem, so I tried uninstalling them. I downloaded msiblast and tried to remove Labview 6.0 and 6.1, but since they used to be on a network, and the university does not carry those programs anymore, they gave me errors. I was able to uninstall 7.0 and reinstall it, but it still gave me the same error as described in the original post.
I went into the registry and removed 6.0 and 6.1, but it still gives me the same error.
I need a way of removing 6.0 and 6.1 so that I can do a clean install of 7.0.

No canon lbp 5100 After installing lion

My iMac does not see my canon lbp 5100 printer after installing lion anymore. I have tried updating the drivers bud dat dit not work. It all works perfectly on my Windows laptop so theres nothing wrong with the hardware. Can anybudy help me?

If the iMac cannot see the LBP5100 when connected via USB cable, then this is not a fault of the driver or Lion but most likely a problem with the USB cable.
Open System Information (Applications > Utilities) and select the USB entry in the left column. The top right pane will show all of the USB busses on the iMac and if the USB printer cable is good then the printer will be listed under one of these busses.
Note that the USB printer cable needs to be connected directly to the iMac. If you have a USB hub or some other device between the Mac and the printer then this can cause failure.

i have just downloaded and installed osx lion and wanted to install on my laptop. i don't want to download the os again due to bandwidth issues. how do i make a installation disk AFTER installing lion?

Time Machine can't find external drive after installing Lion

Time Machine can't find external drive after installing Lion. I have a Laice 1 terabyte external drive that worked fine with Snow Leopard and now no show ... tried connecting it to front port and Mac Pro can't see it. Also lost Office,Quicken, and Final Cut Pro says: " You can't open application because Power PC apps are no longer supported" this is Not a good surprise!

Does the drive work when just directly connected? If so, have you prepped the drive?
Extended Hard Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. If you need to reformat your startup volume, then you must boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger or Leopard.)

3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (only required for Intel Macs) then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.

PhotoSmart Premium C309a driver problem in Win10 at double side printing

My problem is as follows: I created a catalog in MS Publisher 2013 for A4 paper format with 2 page per paper. I selected booklet side-fold type and double side printing. MS Publisher prepared all pages in correct way. I even created PDF versuions of such pages. But each time when I print pages, the printer keeps make them smaller (I think it scale them for Letter format) despuite the fact I changes in printer preferences A4as default paper source, all documents are in A4 format etc. As result, the printed pages are shifter from the center page on the left side, which is ok for one side printing but cannot work for doyuble side printing as shift is in different directions for result paper. Additionally, I cannot any more print on DVD or CD surfaces as the driver doesn't support sauch a feature. Please let me know how I can replace the native Windows 10 driver with the one for Windows 8.1? Or is there any other solutions except using another OS? Thx, Vlad.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that your HP PhotoSmart Premium C309a is having a driver problem in Windows 10 when printing double sided. I am happy to help! According to this guide, How to Use the 2-Sided Feature, it looks to me as if the double sided printing feature is only available to use with regular plain white paper. (Letter sized), which could be why the printer is scaling the size to letter. You could possibly try using an alternate driver, by going to this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by , and follow the steps for Windows 8, as they will work on Windows 10. Then you could attempt a custom size print. But as mentioned previously, I am positive that the 2-sided feature for this printer is for Letter sized paper only, and cannot guarantee this will work. I have tried deleting and resetting printer and re-installing update 6 times. Last update attempt showed none available??? I can’t load the software directly from HP because their only option is to use the software update option on the mac....frustrated!!! Help!!
I get blank pages that just run through the printer and a stats window that just 33% complete and goes no further.

I am going on the guess that an old driver is still installed...
Use Finder Go > go to folder, and go to /Library/Printers and delete the HP folder(s).
Reset the Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Now, Add the printer in Print & Scan prefs.

Mac Microsoft Word 2008 double side printing

Hi.
I recently purchased Macbook Pro 15, and installed Microsoft Office 2008.
I have a SamSung Express 282 series laser printer.
When I use my window pc or window labtop, it double-side prints all right.
But when I try to double-side print with Mac Pro Microsoft word 2008, it doesn't work.
From the Print menu, I go to 'printer feature' and click on 'reverse two-sided printing', but it keeps saying
"Changing the setting of Reverse Two-Sided Printing to On would cause a conflict that cannot be resolved. No change will be made,"
and does not let me click on it.
Does anyone know what's going on?
I really want to save some trees and do only double-sided printing, but it doesn't let me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Be sure to pick the OS X Lion 10.7 driver from the pulldown menu before selecting the driver category below it.
If that doesn't work, contact Canon. There are some Lion supporting double sided printers for sure.
Mind you,when manufacturers rely on the CUPS drivers as they did in this instance they may have
taken the easy way out, and that might avoid having the double sided printing.
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl899 may be able to patch those drivers to give you double sided printing if the Canon ones do not.
There are a few other open source alternatives*.
When double sided printing doesn't work, the trick is to rotate the pages upside down and feed face down switching odd and even page numbers.
Test with single sheets first, and then once you get the hang of it, do multiple.
I don't know where your printer feeds, so you'll have to try a couple times to figure out the correct direction.

Black ink only & double side printing

This is regarding a printing issue using my newly bought printer. I wish to print double sided using the option black ink cartrige only under grayscale printing. However, when I select double side printing, there were only 2 options under the grey scale printing (off which means color or high quality). Is there a way to select both double side and black ink cartrige? Furthermore, does grayscale printing using high quality option uses ink from the black ink cartrige or also from the color cartriges? thanks in advance

What printer model? What operating system?
Generally there are two options for grayscale printing, either "use black cartridge only" or not. If the "use black cartridge only" box is not checked color ink will be used as it provides better print quality.
Some printers and some drivers do not support "black cartridge only" when printing in duplex mode. In duplex printing a small amount of color ink may be used to underprint the black print to make it dry faster to prevent smearing in duplex printing. (Not intuitive, but it is correct....)
See here for some information on how ink is used. Some ink will be used for servicing even when printing with black ink only.
