Can't make or receive calls or text messages

Ever since last night my iphone 5 wont let me receive or make calls out and I can only receive and send text messages from iphone users. Help!

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Replace the SIM
Contact the carrier.

    I'm sorry you're having issues in making and receiving calls with your prepaid device. I would need to direct you to our Prepaid department for assistance.
    In order to reach a Prepaid Department representative, please call 888-294-6804. When prompted, enter your prepaid phone number. Then press 4, 5, 4 and enter the pass code for your account.  If you do not know the pass code, enter in four zeros.  Then the system will then transfer you to a Prepaid representative.

    Did you activate roaming before going abroad?
    Click on EE & ME and where it says My Account, click on Devices and Usage and enable it from there, cllick on EE & ME and where it says travel and shopping click on using phone abroad.

    I have 100% full signal, all bars are there. I CAN NOT MAKE OR RECEIVE  phone calls or text messages!! Started to happen on 6/17/2013. I have  the Samsung Galaxy. My wife and I and a friend  have the same phone and they are having the same problem as me. THEY  can not make calls or receive calls or text messages as well........they  have full signal too!!! Again, this has been happening since 6/17/2013.  IT IS ONLY HAPPENING IN MY HOMETOWN AREA!!! THE TOWN WHERE I LIVE!! WHEN I  LEAVE MY TOWN...half mile north or half mile south-IT WORKS FINE AGAIN... WHEN I COME HOME, NO CALLS, NO TEXTS, AND  THERE IS FULL SIGNAL. WHEN I TRY MAKING A CALL I WATCH THE SIGNAL, I  PRESS SEND, THE SIGNAL IS FULL SIGNAL, AND 15 SECONDS LATER IT DROPS  THE CALL (message says call ended). DOESN'T CONNECT THE CALL. THE TOWN IS WILLIAMSVILLE NY. THE  ZIP CODE IS 14221. ACADEMY STREET, MILL STREET, SCHOOL ST, EAGLE ST all in zip code 14221. These phones are our ALL IN ONE phones. We don't have home phones. We can't call anyone while at home . THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE  VERIZON TOWER THAT SERVICES THIS AREA. PLEASE HELP!

        theroamer Having issues with signal is definitely not how we want you to experience wireless service. We take this very seriously because just like you I use my cell phone for everything and recently eliminated my home phone. I would love to help you with this issue, so lets get started. I show you are in an area that has great coverage. I do show multiple customers have reported issues in your area and a few weeks ago, it shows the issue was resolved. You advised that you cant get calls inside your home. Have you always had signal issues inside the home? If you step outside your door, can you make a call, send text, or access data related functions at all? Have you tried to power cycle the devices or perform a master reset. Before you rest the device, lets try a SIM card removal. Power the device off first and follow these steps http://tiny.cc/2gn6yw . This will reconnect you with the towers. You should have your wife and friend perform the same steps. If you continue to have the issues, try performing the hard reset http://tiny.cc/9in6yw . Make sure all information is backed up first.   • Full bars can't make or receive calls or texts at home.

    Just about 25 days back with Verizon and my iphone says I have full bars yet and can't make or receive a call or text from my house this started this week same issue with my moms razr phone as well. I sent the support email a message love the well get back to you in 24hrs. Well 24hrs passed I called nice girl answered I explained I already did the *228 and that I actually did a hard master reset wiped the phone and settings clean updated the IOS to 4.2.10 then something about the phones software I guess I'm running 1.0.5 or something old she tells me I should have received a text on how to upgrade I told her the only texts I received from Verizon were my bill is due and another thanking me for my payment. We went through toggling stuff off and on for about 30 mins and testing outbound calls to #832 I put it on speaker told her its saying calling and call failed over and over again then she said she thinks she sees the problem but doesn't have access to fix it and needs to put me on hold. She picked back up conferenced the call and I went over steps taken with the gentleman I explained that when I was on hold I got flooded with SMS texts so it was going to work now that's the only way I know when I have service is when every text sent to me comes rushing in at once. He then checked to see if calls I made were hitting the server I provided numerous telephone numbers I attempted to call that failed I explained my mother is having exact issue and another friend that was in my area of Friday provided the other people having issues cell numbers and I was told a tech would look into it in 4 days I made sure I asked for network ticket #. Initially I thought this was only happening at night but today I attempted calls in the am same thing. The reps were very nice. Just under 30days back and so far not so good I've had them in the past never an issue my mom and dad past 9 years never an issue until recently. Anyone else in Massachusetts having this issue. I don't want to leave Verizon because generally there coverage is better in New England then the others I've tried in past 3 years.

    It sound more like a capacity problem on your local mobile phone cell site, especially the system busy message. Have you tried your mobile phone at a different location, on a different cell site?
    How is it that you are posting your messages from a mobile phone, is it a different mobile you are using?

    I have been unable to make or receive calls in the extended network area since arriving here 3 weeks ago. Using a Droid Bionic. Spent an hour with tech support to no avail. purchased a warranted used phone and moved sim card to it. Still no luck. Drove a hundred miles to a verizon service area yesterday and the phone worked fine from there.
    I live in zip code 79834 for 3 months every year and this is the first time I've experienced this problem. I use a Wilson booster in 79834 and get 4 bars. No booster needed for strong extended network signal in nearby 79852 but no luck there either.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    If you are using a Bionic or any other 4G phone, you do not dial *228 to update your Preferred Roaming List ... that is handled automatically by the phone's SIM card.  To force an update, you can turn off the phone, remove the SIM card, wait a few minutes, then replace the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and allow a few minutes for it to re-establish a connection.
    However, as noted by the Verizon rep, if you check the Verizon coverage map, there isn't any coverage in area code 79834.  I've no explanation as to why your neighbor's phone works.

    Yesterday my phone stopped making/receiving calls and I can't send texts. I have received texts from BT, but no-one else... Any ideas? Signal showing ok at top of screen, and has been fine since switching.

    I got the phone wet, all other parts of phone are working fine, just calls and texts. Do I need a new phone?

    I was told that the 4S does not work off or require the sim card and also the verizon store did not have one. Thanks for your advice, I think you're right.

           Connection: not connected
    But everything else is working fine i can still get email ect .... Please help 

    You can try to use that SIM card on other unlocked cell phone - if you got the same problem it's a O2 problem for sure.

    I have been given an iphone 4 which is Tmobile enabled.  I got a new payg sim from tmobile, have topped it up, but cannot make calls or send texts, and if anyone tries to call me they get a message saying the number is not currently accepting calls.
    I have updated to the latest software etc.

    tmobile does not support iphones in the usa....

    Have you tried rebooting the phone?  Also maybe removing and reinstalling the sim card?  Make sure your not in airplane mode or check under settings -- general --cellular and see whats turned on or off.

    Yikes! I want you to be able to make phone calls on your cell phone! I would recommend what others have stated on here as well. Remove the sim card for a good 30 seconds while the phone is off. Then try to make the phone call again. Have you ever replaced the sim card on your device before?     My iPhone 4 started to act up. I can't make or receive calls, and same thing with texts. I also can't connect to the internet. When this happens, my iPhone turns off & it won't turn back on unless I charge it. When it's back on, there's a message about a reset that tells me I should go to apple.com/support. Later, it goes back to normal and everything works. And again, it stops working. This has been repeating for a couple of days. Help, please?

  • IPhone 4S was working fine in Bangkok, now "No Service" so can't make or receive calls/texts. Still connects and works w/wifi?

    Entire trip have had no problem using the phone in different locations as we traveled. Now I am unable to make or receive calls or texts, unless I am on wifi. Then I can send/receive imessages and other normal web functions. I checked settings>carrier and that's "on" and settings>general>network and both cellular data" and "Data Roaming" are "on" but I'm not getting or sending data when not on wifi, so cell data is apparently not working. Any thoughts?

    If the phone is reading No Service, then no, the cellular connection is not made. Did you change SIM cards during your travel? It is possible your home carrier is not recognizing the phone. With the home carrier SIM installed, do a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The other alternative is to go into Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings.
