Can´t make or recieve a call on my iphone 3g 2.1

Ill been having this problem since the 2.0.2, the problem is that after i turn my 3G on my phone works great for some time (no idea how long)but after some hours my phone dont get any call in or out or msn, when i call a phone is just dead and when i call my iphone i get like 30 seconds of silence and the straight to my voice mail.
If i turn my 3G of works great on EDGE and if i turn it back works again for some hours and then the same problem.
One important thing.... my data still working when i have the problem i can use the 3G internet without a problem.
Anyone has a problem like that? to u guys think that is the iphone or the software? actually i think is a little bit better after the update, sometimes i make it work again after try to call 3 or 4 times without turn off and on the 3G

This might be a hardware issue, or there might be a problem with your iPhone's SIM card.
I would try getting a new SIM card from your cellular provider to rule out a possible SIM card problem, which will require activating the new SIM card with your iPhone via the iTunes activation process, which you will be prompted for when connecting your iPhone to iTunes with the new SIM card installed.

That's not enough information to help you. We need to know additional symptoms. Did the phone ever work? What is the original carrier? Did you change carriers? Is your account paid up? Have you called the carrier to ask if your account is active? Have you also asked if they have a local outage? What is displayed on the top line of the phone? Is there any message displayed (such as invalid SIM)?

I CAN'T make or recieve outgoing calls/texts but CAN access the internet...

Has anybody encountered the same issue? The calls will say "calling..." however they do not go through and after about 20 seconds I receive a call failed message.
Texts go almost all the way through but then fail.
I am able to access my email and the internet though.
I have full bars and tried a reset with no luck.

Experiencing same problem for last 48 hours.
Beginning Friday evening, Dec. 14th.
Only a problem in my home residence, whether the i-phone WiFi connection is turned ON or OFF.

Sounds like the device is in recovery mode. You will need to restore the phone. See this support document for instructions. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

But basically make sure that iCloud is enabled with the same account in both your Mac and iPhone, turn off Wi-Fi calls if enabled in your iPhone and make sure that Facetime has the same accounts in your devices.

FaceTime is free to use. You will not be charged for using FaceTime.

No clue why you cannot make video calls over your cellular operator... have you tried contacting them?
If you're referring to FaceTime, it is currently limited to Wi-Fi only.
Sending files via Bluetooth is not a supported feature of the iPhone or iOS. A simple search of the web or these forums would have made that abundantly clear.

Phone and messages is a carrier issue. Sprint needs to check your account to make sure it is set up correctly. If everything looks good on their end, then do a reset on the phone, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, try it.

That is a carrier-based service. So first you have to make sure your service contract includes that feature.
It usually also includes Call Hold. So you call the first party, put them on hold, call the second, then reactivate the first. But only if your carrier allows you to.
