Can't minimize to dock?

iPhoto 08 on my Macpro will not minimize to the dock when I double click on the title bar of the program. I do have the option set in the preferences to allow programs to go to the dock when you double-click on them. Any ideas why it is doing this?

Go into the System/Appearance preference pane and make sure the Minimize when double-clicking window title bar" checkbox is selected. If it is, uncheck and recheck it.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

I have formatted my laptop, Reinstalled all my Adobe softwares and still the same problem continues.
Photoshop sometimes gets stuck in between while working no matter what the file size and dimensions. Its not about lagging. The screen is just stationary and I can't access any of Photoshop's commands for the stationary period of some seconds or a minute. I can only minimize it. Photoshop even crashes at times.
I have latest wacom drivers installed 5.3.5-5, Bamboo dock installed, and NVIDIA, GT 740M version 347.52. I have verified the problem with Wacom but they say the tablet doesn't have a problem. If you have both a Nvidia GPU and Intel GPU on your machine have you disabled the Intel GPU in windows Device manager. Adobe in the GPU FAQ clearly state that you may have Photoshop problems if your running machine configuration has multiple GPU that are different GPU.

Do you see anything on the TV?
If you just see your desktop, then your MacBook is defaulting to extended display mode. Try pressing the Command + F1 keys to see if you get the menu bar and other icons.

Can not minimize window in Safari after upgrade to Yosemite

Since upgrading to this ******** OS Yosemite it has made my DVD player unworkable
Now I can not minimize a window in Safari. Control M or Control H does not work The middle minimize button is greyed out?
Is there a fix for this? Upgrading to Yosemite has been the worse mistake I have made since ditching PC's and buying a Mac 3 years ago.

In addition to Eric's response, if you are in full screen mode you can hover your mouse near the upper left corner and click on the green button (to dismiss full screen mode), then the yellow button (to minimize).

Can I "unpair" my dock from my remote?

I recently purchased a dock for my 5th generation ipod. I have no intentions of using the remote that came with my iMac for the dock. I will only use it to control Front Row. It's annoying to have my iPod respond to the remote when I'm trying to control Front Row. Can I program my iPod/dock to ignore my remote? Thanks

While it seems you can pair an iPod dock with a specific remote (see this article), I can't see any way to make the dock ignore another remote without pairing it to a specific remote of its own. I think your best bet would be to cover up the IR receiver on the dock or maybe turn the dock around. IR signals need a line-of-sight to work.

Can LVs minimization functions minimize a function with a summation in it?

Hello all,
I am trying to minimize U-X, where U is a n point array of measured data, and X=f(U), a n-point summation function of 7 variables:
I have made efficient sub-VI's to calculate this function, and normally would solve this using an amoeba like approach, however, LV's minimization routines appear to need analytic functions. I can write this equation as above, but am not sure that I can provide this as an input to a minimization routine.
I am wondering:
1) Can this function be entered analytically to LV, allowing me to use built in solvers? If so, how?
2) If not, how can I minimize this? I have seen some very complicated and only modestly explained Lev-Mar examples, but can't make heads or tails of them.
A note: I am actually only trying to fit the baseline of the data, not the whole spectrum, but if someone can point the way on the minimization approach, I can figure out the rest (I may use a minimum entropy approach, i.e. minimizing the derivative of the sum of the difference between the data and the results of the function call).
I include my function VI below, as well as an ascii string of typical data, 5000 points long. Any ideas would be strongly appreciated!

One more thing - to help out a bit more, here is a simple VI to read in the data, calculate the correction, and plot the two. I have provided default values that more or less work for this data (manual minimization!).

Can't minimize windows

I've had this problem before with OS X 10.4, but thought the problem was gone.

I read in another thread that you can solve this problem by trashing the Finder preferences.
1) Go to ~/Library/Preferences.
2) Drag the file named com.apple.finder.plist to your Trash.
3) Empty the Trash.
4) Restart your Mac.
5) You should be able to minimize windows again.

Sometimes Can't minimize windows

I've searched the forums and didn't find anything about this, so forgive me if there are and I missed them. Lately the minimize buttons in Safari and in Finder windows are grayed out. I can't minimize anything. I can quit Safari and restart it and its fine, but then seemingly randomly grays out again. Command-M doesn't work, either does going to Window-Minimize. I can re-launch Finder or restart my computer and that fixes the finder window problems. I really have no clue what the problem is, I have the up to date upgrades from Apple. Any help is appreciated. Same here, I guess I encounter that since 10.4.5 or even earlier. After a random amount of time, the Finder Minimize Buttons get disabled; I can then relaunch the Finder and everything is fine again. Don't know about Safari since I use Camino as a browser.
TiBook 1GHz, System Up-To-Date, 768MB RAM, 80GB HD (15GB available), FileVault enabled.
